kind of funny, my filet of fish story
LOL I have had a few major Pbs all my fault... You know how your not sure if something is going to settle down in there and you relax and you can actually feel it pass and you go on with life.... Well my daughter has learned to recongnize the look on my face no matter how hard I try to hid it.... and she says " Mom, are we having and "episode"? OMG she cracks me up... so now she refers to it as an episode. Kids are cute. Booger will also define what will cause me the "episode" if I choose to eat it!

Any Regrets?
I am like Elfie, I love to cook, bake, and I love to eat. food Network is a great channel. I am also a cake decorator by trade among other things. I have learned to cook some really cool meals that agree with me and what I want for myself, substituting ingredients for a healthier dish, and cooking smaller pots so that I don't feel obligated to eat so much. I am almost entirely giving up on meat of any kind since any of the PB episodes I have had included meat. ( truth is I am a vegetarian at heart) When bake sweets I keep some for my family and give the rest away to the teachers at school and friends, Chiro office, massage therapist etc. So i still feel good cooking for others. I am becoming more satisfied seeing others enjoy what I cook vs the need to gorge myself on a tasty meal. I have also been watching Dr Oz a lot... I like how he explains what we are doing to our organs and his show and tell examples.... big time wake up call. My family watches together. I love how he spends time on weightloss issues and solutions and showes a typical plate and how it can be made better and with half or less of the calories. Ha Ha just the other day my freind took me and my 2 kids out to lunch for vietnamese food... I didn't order anything. I had some hot tea and then after that I picked off the veggies of everyones plate and was very satisfied. Now I am a really cheap date ;o) It was a relaxing meal. I enjoyed it. Like astrasmom, I am so happy I did this, I am more confident now and I wish I had done it sooner... I am thankful for today and my future. Betsie, it is fun meeting the challenge of altering a recipe, and very satisfying when your family loves it!

Crazy Question but im Super Curious..
I was on my period for surgery... used a tampon, told them too , they said if I had cotton underwear I could keep it on with a pad if I liked. It was no big deal.

What do you do when you want to binge?
When I have the urge to eat or binge I make a cup of hot herbal tea... that usually curbs me. and then start researching stuff on the computer that is very distracting for me. If I am out driving and I want to hit a drive thru I will chew gum (yes i really do, funny I have NEVER accidently swallowed a piece in my life , knock on wood) or have an altoid ;o) and drink some water.

I didn't either.... but I was so excited! I am between a 12 and 14 now... I too am happy at the dept change in the store.... waiting as long as I can before buying any clothes. I may have to do the thrift store between here and then... All the clothing style possibilities that are opening up are so exciting! I can't wait. I am also starting school next month for Massage, and Holistic Health Care.... so will wait... I will be taking tai chi within that program so hopefully will see some changes in my body as a result. May chose to wear scrubs for school or sweats haven't decided yet.

LOL I am dying now waiting for the underwriter to review our docs for a house.... seems like it is taking FOREVER.... we feel like we can't pack etc, loans are funky these days not like the years before when you were accepted on an offer and the financing was preapproved... so you knew as long as you put the docs and had the closing $$ you were good to go. Enough to drive me to a plate of French Fries... but I won't I promise... I go for a cup of hot herbal tea every timeI want to hit the fridge.... heading there now... good way to get your liquids in too and a great diversion. Good job on the wii addiction... I have one even the biggest loser one and I haven't used it! did weights today about killed me.

LOL me too at 5'2" Since the G-Force movie my line is .. "I am not fat, I am FLUFFY!" My 8 yr old son has stated I am losing my fluffiness, and now he can totally wrap his arms around me and hold hands when he hugs me and it makes him feel good too!

Grrrr!!! Okay this wait is killing me!!! I?m losing my mind!!! Help!!!!
HANG IN THERE YA'LL I know how frustrating it is to wait, use your time waiting wisely, start your supplements. let go of a bad habit , like Soda, make little changes now ... read labels and learn new recipes... if you use this as your training time life will be sooooooo much easier once you are banded ... trust me! Find a Protien drink you like. Start walking and doing some weights. Like I said it will be sooo much easier later if you start making the changes now....POSITIVE... THE GLASS IS HALF FULL! This is one of the biggest decisions of your life.... life altering ;o) Good luck to you all. Seize 2010! It is YOUR year!

What was/is your Daily Caloric Intake while on pre-Op diet
I had a 1000 cal not to exceed 20grams of fat. I could have yogurt, cottage cheese and protein drinks, sugar free pudding and jello etc
-
I woke up today...
yeah at first I kinda felt that way... then I thought well my 3 months of supervised diet I can use this time to reprogram myself and slowly change my habits. It worked out well I lost 20lb before surgery! I am glad I got started instead of waiting for the pre-op diet time. This whole thing isn't so hard ...especially when you see the scale move and you have a team to be accountable to. The biggest help for me other than the human encouragement is the Daily Plate at www.livestrong.com. I am most successful when I faithfully log what I am eating and doing. I just keep myself logged on all day and go back and enter here and there. It really breaks it down so that you can see what your numbers are and what food is most costly so you can decide if you really want to eat it again , or a full serving , if you know what I mean. I actually went and bought a pair of "skinny jeans" today... wow they feel weird. I still have to move that belly, above the waist line, maybe some crunches will help, everything else has been melting away "evenly' so to speak So go for it... you will be so pleased. Think of what you can do and eat rather than what you can't. Glass is half full not half empty if you catch my drift! Good Luck!

So scared to get rid of fat clothes!
I saved one pair of pants and one shirt..... so I can see the progress. I am in 14 with them loose so as soon as I switch they will go in the donation as quickly and the 16 and 18s did. I WILL NOT GO BACK. Not to mention it feels really good to purge and buy nicer stuff!

Dr. Shahram Salimitari - Dr.Sal's new contact info
Just make sure he is NO LONGER associated with Top Surgeons or Weightloss Centers, 1800 GETSLIM. I have heard mixed reports of his affiliation and that he in fact still works for them. Just remember if he is not in practice for himself and broken away from them he really truely has no say so what he does for you. The group will determine that. It is a shady group. My insurance company is investigating them.
