  1. :redface::Banane10::Banane10::w00t::cursing:whoo hooo! CONGRATULATIONS!
  2. If your bood test was fine before I wouldn't be concerned, it is just a routine check. Do your best to stay on your diet. You will be fine and on the otherside before you know it:thumbup: Good Luck to you!
  3. your lucky you can have milk... I have to wait til monday, only clear right now, so my decafe coffee will wait until then.... Then I can do full liquids for a week.
  4. LBT Name: happyhomecc Height: 5'2" Surgery date: Nov 4 2009 Starting Weight: 220 Surgery Weight: 193 Current Weight: 190
  5. congratulations, I changed groups after preop and nut for 3 months. So I know how that all goes. Best thing I ever did! Had my surgery Wed and I am doing really well! they did a great job on me.
  6. I have my first fill at the end of the month so I am hoping to catch him in time and nail him once more.... prior to surgery I was working hard on my portions etc, so hopefully it won't be so bad compared to what others have experienced. Time will tell , I hope I win the battle! I am poised to fight... well maybe in a couple of days!!!! LOL I called my surgeons office today to let them know what a great recovery I am having and how thankful I am to all of them. What a great team!
  7. Thanks Donna. for sure it takes work, I have laid down a good foundation in education, changing what is in the cupboard, strategies for coping with food and dinner time etc. I also started counseling to get my self ready. My kids are perfect weight, I have been educating them on food labels and serving sizes etc. I have lost 30 lb prior to surgery now, only 7.5 was from the pre op diet. ( was supposed to lose 10 got my period so I think Water retention got me.) So far I think this is the right decision for me. It will take work but I am confident I can do it.
  8. Had my surgery Wed and it went off with out a hitch!!!! I did good not too much pain at all and none of that horrid gas pain in the shoulder!!! I feel truely blessed! I took the meds that night and at 9 am yesterday and 9 pm last night, not for pain but to sleep my day away. The bottle says take 15-30 ml every 4 hours ... ha ha ha NO WAY I would be dead! I took 15 ml every 12 hours and it knocked me on my A$$. YAY I am so happy about that.... I didn't have any repairs to do so that helped. Today, I am not taking pain meds other than childrens liqiud tylenol. I am just a little slooooowww moving. A little intestional gas, the gas x chewables do the trick on that. can't wait to move to full liquids so I can have the protien drinks and my decafe coffee with milk ;o) I think I am the poster child for recovery.... I am so excited I feel so good. Dr Horgan and team they are AWESOME, lol and entertaining! We had a party with my whole surgical team in my room cracking jokes and having fun... then we all walked down the hallway together to the OR still cracking jokes. Got to the OR they asked me what music I like, they put country on for me and then while joking with me they blindsided me and knocked me out!!!! love them! I am so glad I found them. They have made this experience wonderful for me. I go back Wed for my post op check up. Oh did I say NO GAS PAIN!!! WOW NOw on to my new life!!! I have my first fill at the end of the month!
  9. I am going in tomorrow, I am just praying I lost the 10lb... I got my period this week and it is sure not helping... the demon scale I have (new) is not accurate I have discovered. If it follows it's normal habit of being 2 lb over the dr scale, I will just make it. If it has decided to be truthful I have failed... blame it on the period... I think that is honest. The week before the mandatory preop I lost 7 lb. So here we go... time to install the "tummy cop" and KILL HUNGRY!!!!
  10. Good advice Cookie thanks. My grandparents always have said buy the best you can afford and it will last longer. ;o)
  11. Hi, Do you have pictures of the styles you have?
  12. I hear you , my husband brings stuff home and gets defensive about his food selection. My husband is the one that buys the junk food , ( I wish he would keep in in the trunk of the car or at work) he has to have the sweets with his coffee etc.... I told him that he is evil, so since I have been telling him the calories in things he is consuming ie Chipotle steak fajita... 1200 cal plus a coke, chips and guac. yeah you get the picture. He said ... "I liked you better before" , he was telling me the other day I was walking to fast ha ha ha.... He is starting to make better choices about what to bring home... ie not dove bars but skinny cow, he is learning to read labels and my kids are reading labels and calling him on the serving sizes.... it is really funny. and cool.... he is coming around slowly. He is mourning the loss of his ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFETS. I told him if he wants to he can go with a friend...don't let me stop you , but when you get home I don't want to hear you moaning !!!! I envy the people that have their partners, spouses, moms etc that get banded together. Someone to make goals with that understands when you say you don't want something. Can you imagine the grocery bill how it changes. My social eating patterns will change (actually a lot already has changed) and I can go do activities that are not food centered. I think that is where a lot of my friendships will break... not wanting to partake of the plate of Nachos ... thinking to do a bike ride instead. This will be a life altering journey for sure. I wonder where I will be a few years from now?
  13. it is hard when you have to prepare food for your family and watch them eat.... I think it should be against the law to have to prepare for them when you are doing a liquid diet or fasting....
  14. I was looking at them and the prices online .... I will have to head to the mall to look and give them a whirl.... are there any features that you would say not to go without??? thanks
  15. YaY lilMissy! I am so glad you didn't cancel. You will do fine. Get support as you need it. You can do it, LOts of people here are willing to hang with you and cheer you on! You go girl!!
  16. you can add shredded cucumber, dill , salt , garlic powder, lemon and make "z-sauce" great on falafel, chicken etc
  17. go for it!!! you have lots of support here! Congratulations on you insuWho rance approval, and decided to grab on to life!!!!
  18. LMAO.... REESES IS THE DEVILS CANDY and I think it has protein in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I canceled halloween this year and my 8 and 11 yr old did not protest to my surprise..... we are going to the movie to see Cloudy with a chance of meatballs......... OMG I just realize... food movie ..... this is wacked!
  19. LOL I have cleaned out some stuff too... have to be careful since I have 3 others at home who are not having weight issues ;o) challenging!
  20. congratulations! I am so excited for you and for my future, thank you for sharing your triumph! That is my goal too! I believe if I follow through and follow the path I will pull it off. Just the weight loss I have had in the last few months preparing my self I have lost 25% of my goal. My kids need me to do the fun stuff with them too! I do this for myself and them!
  21. when you are banded you have to be pretty anal about what you eat, measuring , exercise, you are accountable to the band or it will punish you... you have to check in with your dr. all for the massive success, it is a lifetime commitment not a fad diet ... So how could that be cheating???? I have had to "educate" a few people and let them know about the preop and post op life.... the majority of the response is .... "wow I could NEVER do that , how are you doing it?, or I don't know how you are doing it!!!" Yeah and I am a cheater!?? what is up with that!!!!????
  22. I wonder about that too. kinda worries me. what about the vomiting too, what happens if I get the flu, does that mean that I may slip even though it is sewn in place?
  23. If it doesn't subside take a trip to the dentist and be sure you don't have an underlining infection or a tooth that needs attention. I guess I will be carrying around a travel bottle of mouthwash in my near future! LOL... altoids anyone!
  24. I personally was thinking of the thanksgiving dinner, If I can't eat no one can eat LOLOLOL I usually cook the Thanksgiving meal .... am I still required to cook this year???????? boy have they got another thing coming.... EVIL CHUCKLE COMING ON!
