  8. Ok, so let me preface this by saying that my period is ALWAYS regular. Only once in my whole life have I been late. However, I was due to start on the 5th, but it still hasn't shown up. I feel like I've had pms for over a week now though. I even took a pregnancy test to make sure I wasn't pregnant, even though I didn't think I was. It came back negative {THANK GOD}. So I was wondering, has anyone else gone through this? I know 5 days may not seem like alot, but it is for me. I was banded May 20th and even after that, my period was regular. I read online that dramatic weight loss can be a factor, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this? THANKS!

  13. I had my 2nd fill today. He put in another cc, so now I have 4cc's in a 9cc band. I am really hoping this help with restriction, because these past couple of weeks, I've been ravenous. I have been watching my portions and staying in control, but the hunger has been unbearable!

  15. Wow, that's alot of money. Was it something that wasn't covered by insurance?
  16. Really? what was the $400 for? An initial consultation or something?
  17. I know, I am. I was just wondering what others experienced....
  18. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has moved since being banded and had to switch surgeons. The reason I ask is because I am moving from Michigan to Illinois in the spring of 2010 and am a little worried about getting a new doctor. I've heard that some people really have a hard time finding a surgeon who will take them on. Just wondering what some of your experiences were! Thanks!
  19. Hi there, I was banded May 20th of this year and live in Michigan. However, I will most likely be moving to Downers Grove in March/April 2010. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good surgeon near that area or the surrounding cities? thanks so much in advance!
  20. Glad to hear everyone is successful! I had a minor setback 2 weeks ago with getting a staph infection in one of my port sites. That has since cleared up and I'm healing well, knock wood! Otherwise, I'm doing pretty good. I've noticed and so have other people, my weight loss. I love shopping for new clothes! I had my first fill but don't really feel restriction yet. I have my 2nd fill on the 23rd, hope that helps! I'm down 35.5 pounds since May 4th when the preop diet began and I'm down 20 since surgery May 20th. Which compared to most of you, isn't that big of a loss! But I'll take it. Best of luck to everyone!
  21. I just started eating salad a week ago and it's been fine for me so far! As for sandwiches, pasta, etc, I was told to stay away from doughy carbs. So I haven't tried any pasta or breads other than thin pita, which works for me. I have had chinese food, went to PF Changs yesterday and had some chicken and eggplant, which was great. I'm not sure about egg rolls though. I guess it depends on how your body will handle everything. Some people can eat pasta, some say their body rejects it. I'm not even going to try. I also love to make tacos. That's been a life saver for me, turkey tacos. So I guess when it's time for you to go back on solids, it'll just be alot of experimentation. But just remember you won't be able to eat like you used to! Best of luck!
  22. Oh my goodness, 1 1/2 hour-2 after eating???? YIKES! I would not do well with that at all! When were you banded? Are you going through bandster hell do you think? I'm sure your 3rd fill will help! Good luck!
  23. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. How awful. And I agree with the others, you shouldn't have to pay that $300 because it is NOT your fault. I'm really sorry you are going through this. We are all here for you!
  24. Thanks everyone! I will try that tip about something wet at the end of my meal. I haven't done that. I will try that at lunch! So far I haven't really given in to sipping anything before or during, but I have the toughest time AFTER! Ahh.. Oh well, if this is the worst of my problems, I guess it's not that bad! Cheers everyone!
  25. Hey everyone, I am also from Michigan, Clinton Twp to be exact. I was banded May 20th. Good to see everyone is successful!
