  1. Your still down 80lbs girl. I would say you are still WELL IN THE GAME!
  2. I think it is a total guessing game with insurance everytime. However, i have BCBS of ND and they required that I had a BMI of 40 for atleast 2 years.
  3. Wow, I have had like 6 fills and I only have 7.5 cc in my band. This was your first fill?
  4. Soup is going to pass right through the band if it is not thick so I would try to limit yourself to a cup of soup.
  5. I would also try getting in another day of exercise a week. I know that with a busy schedule it doesnt always seem possible but if you can try going early in the AM before work. I go at 5am and it really helps boost my metabolism for the day.
  6. Sluggo I thought the SAME thing for about a week after surgery. I thought oh $hit what did I do to myself! However, each day gets a little easier and the first time you weigh at the doctor and 10lbs drops off you will know what you did to yourself and why you did it! Oh and you can buckle up Buddy because it will throw you on an emotional roller coaster and some of it will truely be the best ride you have ever been on. Emotions can be good and bad but I can tell you that my emotional overload has been on the great end of the spectrum since surgery! Good luck to you!
  7. You are only on Day 4, you need to relax and give your body time to adjust. Food will not repel you in a few days and you will be in bandster hell and wish nothing looked good to you! hahah once you make it through those two phases its really not as bad as you think it is right now. The results will outweigh the bad x100!
  8. Everyday is trial and error for me as well. Sometimes even water won't stay down and other days I can eat ANYTHING!
  9. Are you doing any better? I had this pain but it was only for like the first week or so. I would call and check if you haven't already. Better safe than sorry!
  10. Hhahah Ahhh a 1/2 a cup of Nachos? Don't sweat it, I am sure people have done WAY worse than a half a cup of Nachos. I once ate a HALF a bag of Chocolate chips after i was banded, now THAT was ridiculous. Just try and get back on track and stay motivated it doesnt pay to beat yourself up over it. You realized you shouldn't have so you won't do it again. That is the first step!
  11. I was told not to eat lettuce because it is a slider food due to the large amounts of water that lettuce holds. I am also only getting in about 1/2-3/4 cup of food at one time so lettuce would provide me with no nutritional value. I would be better opting for some chicken with a few veggies on it. I have learned to utilize the space my stomach provides.
  12. Holy CRAP~! I have been banded 10 months and I only have 7 cc in my band total! The most Ive had at once is 1.5cc!
  13. Oh I never had the problem of being cold either. It started after I dropped my first 10lbs and continued through about the 50lb range. It was terrible, cold hands and feet all the time. It did slack off a little but I still have problems with my hands.
  14. Elfie sometimes it takes more than 6 months to get restriction even with aggressive fills. I would say I had slight restriction for the first 6 months but it wasnt until I was about 10 months out that I had real restriction. You can't go from 1cc in a band to 6cc in a band in a month. Your body and habits need time to adjust to the tightening of the band.
  15. Dr. MacColl has moved but is still doing sugery once a month at Altru and still comming back to check on his patients.
  16. If you use the sugar free with protein powder it is around 200 calories and 25 grams protein!
  17. Carnation Instant breakfast sugar or sugar free! I usually add in a half of a banana or a scoop or protein powder and I am set until lunch!
  18. You are still really early in the game. You are being hard on yourself, relax and work side by side with the band and it will happen.
  19. Mickey I don't think you are too tight either. I would say give it some time before you go in for an unfill. I would also try just liquids for a day or two to make sure you are not just swollen.
  20. My band has 7.5 cc in a 10cc band and I can tell you that I physically can no longer drink with meals because there is no place for it to go. When your pouch is full that water sits on the top and ends up comming right back up. Also, it is painful so eventually you will have no desire to drink while you eat.
  21. I was banded in February of 09. I lost 50lbs fairly quickly and stopped losing in July. I just went to my fill doc this last monday and literally had a breakdown. I told her I am so scared to fail at this too! So we had a long talk and she gave me a .5cc fill and told me a few other things to try. So I started an aerobics class ( I was scared to death to be the fat girl jumpin around, but it has been great) and I do my exercising at 5am. I know that NO one wants to get up that early but it jump starts my metabolism. The point of my story is that I have lost 7lbs in 5days. WOOT WOOT! So I agree try changing up your routines in one way or another. Best of luck to yoU!
  22. I always feel like I am on a diet because you really have to monitor what you eat to make this a successful life change. Also, your portions will be alot smaller but that is what you signed up for. HOWEVER, if I do slip up it has been way easier for me to get back on track. I think it is totally worth it!
  23. I wouldn't suggesting eating whatever you want before surgery. They want you to lose weight so your liver isn't as enlarged as it probably is now. If the liver is too large they will not do surgery. Just remember ladies, it is SO worth putting down that second helping, or snack food. Good luck to both of you!
  24. I am having the exact same problem right now. I had a .5 cc added yesterday bringing me to 7.5 and suddenly I can't keep anything down except water and I have to take just sips to keep that down. I don't want to go in just yet though because at 7cc I had barely and restriction. Darn I wish this wasn't so hard, I was thinking today, am I going to be uncomfortable like this forever? uhh
  25. Woops I didn't read your post close enough. It has my name, the name of my doctor and gives a short description of why I would be able to receive a reduced price.
