  1. Can we bribe her with a gift certificate to her favorite store?
  2. Now JC, if you want to rider further I do think you're on your own. BG's ODB isn't going to do more than that. I don't want to bike for more than 4 hours including travel and break time and HP is just getting to some serious milage. There is that ride on Sunday BG found.... BTW, you realize you are coming up north just as the leaves are turning. It should be beautiful.
  3. I would rider further but I am bringing my daughter and I don't want to be away from her for more time than we are already planning with the 40 mile-er. Yeah, I'm 5'2'' and the XS was too small and S was just right. One measure you should do is when you are on the seat look down past your handle bars to the axle of the front wheel. The handle bar and the axle should line up if the handle bars are way infront of the axle the bike is too small. If it's way behind you're probably over reaching and it's going to feel awkward...but the bike is too big. The seat can move a bit foward and backward on the post too, so know that can be adjusted.... I'm so stoked for you. And I'm jealous you are tall.
  4. Thanks Dana. It's cool to be 6 months out. I wonder what amazing and frustrating things will come to happen in the next 6 months. Make sure you get photos of yourself just before surgery so we can celebraite with you your loses!
  5. I can't wait to abuse you. I know I'll need to line up behind BG. But really..."Rabbits?" "tough and stupid?" .... Me thinks you have a target painted on your back side. Insert evil laughter here.
  6. Hi HP I want to take exception to the handle bars being the only difference between the WSD and men's giant bike. The geometery in the frame should be different too. If you take a woman and a man of the same height, the woman will have longer legs and shorter torso. The specs for the different women's bike verses man's bike are here Giant Bicycles | bikes - women - OCR® 1 w and they accomodate for the differences. Mind you it's really slight when you are looking at size "small" bikes...and I didn't ride a man's giant, so I might be talking out of my ass...but I want to defend the WSD bike as different because I bought one! And I love it. Regardless of my ramblings, I found Giants to be cheaper than Trek too. Also cheaper than Specialized and right on par with Schwinn. And double regardless, I'm pleased as punch that you are out trying on new bikes. Layaway is a wonderful thing for these kinds of purchases. Rock on Chica. And I just talked with Alison and we are still on for Ft Wayne. My camping gear situation has improved too. So WOO HOO. If it rains, however I'll be at the hotel and you can join me there.
  7. I see Eddie's EWWWW and would like to raise it. Don't share water with other people, you just had surgery and you immune system is compromised. It's not worth the risk. I wasn't allowed to bathe until week 4. Shower, yes, but no soaking in water....FYI.
  8. HP, BG Good rides! I wish I were able to get out on the trails. It looks like a week from today is going to be my first opportunity!!!! Unless I find a minute and a bike shop that rents bikes in Madison. I think I'm going to be limited to whatever work out room the hotel has or walking the city. Did I mention that we are sharing the hotel with the "IRON MAN" compitition? How cool is that? Buff people used to make mee feel horrible about myself and I avoided them. Now, they get me stoked, because I want to be buff...I hope to make some small talk with those athletes! You know, it just occured to me that I don't have my preflight stomach ache about having to ask for an extender... I've not needed on the last 2 times I've flown. Thanks for all the kind words about my pics. I know I posted many, but I always want to see more of the other bandsters...It's not that I think I'm hot or anything...well not too much.
  9. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/559840-post909.html My 6 months pictures.
  10. if you go pix thread, not just the link, I put some swim suit picutures of me too. Mostly because the shot from behind you can see my cycling enhanced legs.... Thanks for the compliments, JC and GR8.
  11. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/559840-post909.html Here are my pics. As promised.
  12. Denise You poor thing. Freaking itching is horrible!!!! and then to be unfilled is super challenging. However remember the band, unfilled still provides some restriction. You think you might be able to go hog wild, but you won't. I suppose if you really tried hard to get the shit food down you'd manage, but you're smarter than that. Don't you worry. Try to step up the exercise and be hyper vilagent about what you stick in your mouth and you might even lose a few pounds. Good luck!
  13. Posting pictures. Take a peek. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/559840-post909.html
  14. Deanna That's fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll be in ONEderland soon!!!!
  15. Allen County Parks » Blog Archive » NEAT – North East Allen Tour for bicycles This is the specific page. The 17th is the cut off day for the $15 entry. It's $18 there after. I thought the day was closer and the difference more. Sweet.
  16. Allen County Parks » NEAT - North East Allen Tour for bicycles Found it.
  17. D Do you take rest days? Where you do NO training at all? If not you should. I'd head to the ER if you are in that kind of pain. The little posts are fine. I figured as much.
  18. NSV More like a surprise observation. I typically wear old 4X tank tops to sleep in. They are huge at this point...and all were dirty so I dug into my sleep shirt drawer and pulled out a black, stretchy cami with a built in shelf bra and put it on. I must have bought it years ago when my weight edged down a bit, but it never fit, it was always too small. So woo hoo, it fit. But it gets better. I go about my evening...and just before bed I bush my teeth in the half dark bathroom only to catch my reflection and I got a, "damn, you look nearly normal sized." reaction from myself. I have a neck and collar bones and my shoulders are squaring up a little...I had to pause and think, "wow". Sometimes we don't see the changes in our selves like other people see them. Last night was a first for me. Cool huh?
  19. Okay kids, we are literally two weeks out from the bike ride in Fort Wayne. BG, again, could you post the link. I've yet to pay for my ride. Also, with ODB giving you a hard time will you be able to put the 40 miles on it? HP, you're game still, right?! JC, Do you have any pending projects at work that will get in the way? And launches happeing the day before? I'll tell you guys, I'm looking forward to the bike ride....my life has been crazy and I'll be lucky to get in a few 20 miles before that weekend....it might be rough, but I'm so stoked to be meeting you and riding! Could it be any better? Oh yea, if D and B were with us! XO
  20. That is so awesome!!!! Good for you for getting out there. A slow start is the best kind of start. If you do too much too quickly you get hurt and stop.
  21. And there will be no hugging. Okay, church lady hug. Shoulders and arms only....with the bodies a good 2 feet apart! HA! I'm so happy you are well.... Awesome awesome awesome
  22. Woo Freaking Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JC kept his BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Now we don't want to hear you bitch about the restriciton... ) That's so break awesome JC! :cheer2: :bounce::clap2: Swaa eet!
  23. JC. porn and feet? Is there something you've neglected to share with us? What's going on with the doc?
  24. I can't wait to donate my skin to science. The boobs are going to get done, regardless of insurance coverage or not! XO
  25. Aren't we a bunch of grouchy Guses?! Yesterday was my day to be "Eh" about everything. Class was not compelling. My study-pal was sick and hacking and snorking for the 3 hours we sat there. Poor thing, but if I get sick I'm going to scream! However, we do have a final-test study date planned. Alison and I found a few days to meet in Toledo next weekend. I found a 23 mile ride too, map and all that we're going to do on Saturday as well. That alieveates a bunch of stress...we've not seen each other since vacation and I get a little pissy/whiney/aggravated when I go more than month with out seeing her. It will be 5 weeks, not 6 and that is infinately better. And as much as I'm looking forward to Septemeber 22 bike ride with yous guys, I'd much rather see her for a day or two alone, before, than with a group of people I've yet to meet, with my 6 year old in tow, and sleeping in a crowded tent. I've discoverd I can eat toast in the morning. I don't think that's a good thing. Wheat with a little peanut butter....one piece. or is that okay? Any opinions? Rambling-J
