Hi GR8! Is that what you ride? How cool!

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Frank Call your local bike shop, you can hypothetical on the phone, and ask them what they would recommend for someone such as yourself. Know what kind of riding you want to do, off road, on road...know your price range too. You'll be amazed at how people who bike love to share that passion with others. They'll take care of you and not give you greif. Promise. Savery bycyling is how Lou, who has all but disappeared from this thread months ago spelled bicycling. You'll find his other compelling threads on Rants and Raves.... We mock it regularly. But all in all we love bycyling...Bike-ill-ing...I'm guessing is how it is said. You are welcome to join the discussion.

I weigh daily. I know not to invest too much into what the scale says...but.... I couldn't give it up if I had to.

D!! She's alive! School isn't a joy, but it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than it was in the summer when I was taking too excellorated classes at the same time. I'd just sit down and cry at times. This is doable. I have class tonight and the young woman I sit next to and I have become friends. She's an accounting major so a complete number slut. I can't imagine. Anyway, we talk on the phone and it's been so helpful! I'm going to try to get her study with me for the final. Maybe I'll bake cookies and take them in.... Yeah, I've been known to bribe people with food. Bad I know, but offering sexual favors doesn't get me very far, and I'm not about to offer to clean someone's car or anything! What classes are you taking? Are you quarterly or semesters? I do TRI mesters. 3, six week session per in the fall and winter, and 2, six week sessions in the summer. Xo

B- The exercise to calories consumed graph feels like a joke some days. I know I'm losing pretty quickly, but going by those measures I'd be a toothpick already. But I did love putting in 4:06 for time on the bike on Saturday. That was my all time exercise calories burned. I hit 5000 for the day including the basal.... BG, I discovered some liquid tylenol 3 in the medicine cabinet...I was gitty about it at the time. I know what you mean...hopefully the you can get some relief.

Marchies in September!!
Nikki, I don't mean to be contrary...but I'm 5'2'' as well.., my starting weight was much heigher than yours which may account for me losing more quickly. But I've never heard the short people lose more slowly thing. Are you working out and tracking your food? Really 41 pounds in 24 weeks is 1.70 pounds a week. That's a good rate of loss! Take care,

BG Step away from the icing. You poor thing!!! Not to toss a pity party your way, but having a crap couple of days with a crap accident to boot, is a bitch. JJ is a champ. We heart her for you too. JJ, we heart you. HP, So you see what I mean? You've got to ride those bikes until one whispers sweet nothings and you're like, "oh yeah baby, this is theeeee one." D, Come up for air. We know school is keeping you busy. Hope all is well. B, Howdy ! JC, We're thinking on you.

Struggling - How do you do it!?!?!
Sounds like you've gotten the kick in the seat you needed. WTG. But I'm going to chime in, as a single mom, working full time and going to school full time I could be full of excuses but they all ran out. I got surgery to not be fat anymore so my kid would have a healthy, involved parent. Knowing I must exercise regularly was part of that decision. Not exercising with being banded seems very half assed. Don't you think? (Now, if I hadn't noticed that you were newly motivated I'd had been more delicate in my word choices.)

Mexican Food
Beans, beans, beans...with extra salsa. At home, on taco night, I skip the tortilla and eat the meat, cheese and lettuce. I've not had issues. Thank goodness!

Well if it does look good, and they'll do a fill go, go slowly....you strike me as an all or nothing kind of guy...something about riding 80 miles...I'm not sure why I have that perception of you. Be careful. You know you've got the best group of cheerleaders on this board. :cheer2:

JC I understand being disappointed. Is it that you wanted a solution, any solution, rather than not knowing? HP was right, perhaps they are giving you more time to resolve the issue before, checking with an x-ray, with the hopes of you keeping your band. It's really hard to go around with out knowing what may happen, I'm sure. But put it somewhere in your head, "it's okay not to know." Or if you're just pissed for any host of other reasons disregard the above.

i am staying on plan today because ...
I'm going to stay on plan tomorrow because I'm loving the work outs. But what good is it to kick your own ass at the gym only to eat those squishy, mushy, easy to go down, high calorie foods??? Tomorrow, I'm going to slowly eat my low cal Protein, eat my cooked green veggies and drink lots of Water.

Pamela, Yeah Baby, it was fantastic. It took me 4:06 of actual time on the bike. But how unreal is that to ride 56 miles. I don't see me doing a century -100 miles- this season, but I will by May next year. My girl parts are just fine, my knee gave me trouble....but did I post the bike stuff on the thread? Are you stalking me? Just kidding. Thanks for the opportunity to brag. I'll be posting my 6 month pictures this weekend, that will give me another opportunity...cuz you know, I'm smokin'! XO- Marchies in September!!
I'm going to vote for too tight, Janine. You need to get some proper nutrition in there.- Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered Bandsters
Edd, I'm sending you some positive juju. I'm sure you'll be sore and recovering when you read these words.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
HP I hate being without my bike, but getting it tuned up is a good thing. JC Tomorrow's the big day no? Are there any presurgery things you need to being doing/not doing? Your ankle is okay? BG Where the hell you at? D Ala rootbeer. How you doin'? B Hope all is well.- Marchies in September!!
My NSV today my 6 year old was able to wrap her arms completely around my waist and lock her hands together. That's never happened! I got my first full embrace from my little girl! Mind you the little terror will lay on top of me and cuddle a million different ways, but I've been so looking forward to this one and it finally happened. Denise, girl you kill me. But yeah baby, you're just a bitch, not a fat one. Woo Hoo.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Hi Traci You drama queen...How was the canoe trip? The recovery from the bike ride is fine, thanks for asking B. It's going to be a bit before my schedule allows for biking. grumble grumble. off to do homework.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
D. What a ride! That's a story you'll be telling for years to come. I know, little good that does today. Happily no one got hurt. (Like the Indian dude.) You've got a great attitude about the situation.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
annie Thanks for the response. Sad to say this will be my 3rd pet in my adult life I'll have lost. As for my kid, I've started to plant the seed that Kira is old and will die soon. She says that she will miss Kira but in the same breath she's asking if we can get a new pet as soon as she is gone. Ugh. A new pet is the furthest thing from my mind. Again, thanks.- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
JC Do you track your calories? Are you continuing to be mindful of calories in verses calories burned? I'd hate to see you lose your band, but if it happens you still can be successful at keeping your weight off. It will be hard and you'll need to retool your thinking, but if anyone can do it you can! :cheer2:- Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
LS Getting used to the seat takes a little doing. Give it another day and just ride through the pain. Don't wait too long though, because the you'll need to start from zero again. I don't know the science behind it, I just know that you have got to get up on it and ride....annyoing I know. So people, dog lovers amoung us, it looks like it's getting closer and closer to the time when I need to put my dog of over 12 years down. Trying to find the balance between her quality of life and dealing with her failing abilities is hard. She's happy to sleep 23 hours a day, but she keeps away from the family. She pees in the house even if we are home. She can't hear much or see well..... Then there's the whole thing about sharing the death of a pet with a 6 year old. Any pointers? So bummer thread but you guys are my peeps....- Marchies In August
