  1. i know i have been treated poorly by responses ive made in a different thread. i think what people forget is that we are all entitled to our opinions, but respect should be apart of the equation. miranda, I am so sorry that u were treated poorly. i wish i was able to have had surgery when i had "only" 45 lbs to lose. it would have saved me such sadness and stress. unfortunatly i waited until i was 209 ( i am only 5'). I am so thankful to have this tool and i know its going to work for me. you deserve to be happy too miranda. I wish u all the luck! amy
  2. if you just tap tap it, u are more able to control the chop size. I hope this helps! good luck! amy
  3. I try and stay away from splenda, Ive heard bad things about it. anything with sugar alcohols make my ass explode!!! cannot tolerate that stuff. I knoe fiber one bars don't have sugar alcohols in it, but it does have sugar. Im going to try experimenting with stevia, its a natural sweeter that is made from a plant. it has something like 10x's the sweetness as sugar. I bought it at Trader Joes. I like it because it is not a chemical, it is a plant. good luck, amy
  4. oh bella, i am so sorry for your loss! my heart goes out to you. I know its devistating to lose a pet, they are part of the family. Do your best on your preop diet and allow yourself to feel all the feelings u have, if u need to talk feel free to drop me a line. amy
  5. I had A 20LB limit, i guess it varies. lots of luck!! amy
  6. LMAO i think when someone first mentioned the "magic bullet" i thought the same exact thing ahahahahaha!!!
  7. hi! thanks very much, for some reason i expected more tho. I guess ive read some other peoples numbers. I haven't seen any difference in my clothes yet really. we keep joking that im losing in my feet and hands etc... lol. I'll be glad when i notice. my doc didn't put me specifically on a low carb diet or anything, but it seems to be working out that way. I eat alot of Protein, and im having trouble getting enough fruits and veggies, but i do take a Vitamin. i feel like it'll be easier when i can eat a regular meal, right now everything is mushed up. I have been eating every 2 to 3 hours. I eat 4oz of food at a time, and im satisfied.if i eat more i get nauseated. I go for my first fill on may 6, but im concerned because i can only eat 4 oz at a time. I don't think i want to eat less than that, and i can eat everything without a problem. well see when i talk to the doctor. how many grams does ur doc concider low carb? I think it was like 15 per meal and 7 per snack? that may work for u. I know lean meat and veggies will fall in the range of low carb. I'll try and think of some stuff for u, I'll get back to u. amy
  8. hi congrats on ur surgery. I have a 20 month old son. i am 17 days out from surgery and i was unable to hold or pick the baby up until a few days ago. I know im not supposed to pick him up yet, but my hubby is back to work and im on my own. I do try to get the baby to climb on his own as much as i can. Id suggest u get as much help as u can for the first few weeks, and then after that u should be ok. Your energy may be lagging tho too. I wish u lots of luck! keep me posted! amy

  10. i am soooo with u on that. the magic bullet rocks. i cant imagine getting out a blender every time i need to mush something. its quick, easy to clean and it the best invention EVER for banded people (or any bariatric surgery). 16. im so glad u started this thread, i lost 11 lbs in the first 2 weeks, then i stalled for a few days and today i gained a lb. i was really sad too. I was banded on march 20th 2009, and was hoping to lose another ten before my fill. that is in 3.5 weeks. I know that being on mushies is probably the reason, but i think we come into this with such high expections, and are so desperate to get to our goal. good luck all amy
