Hi all--I'm 17 days post op and totally exhausted. If I am still and quiet for 5 minutes I'm out! I'm taking chewable vitamins tailored to bariatric patients. Anyone else feel this way? Any tips?

I am 3 weeks out and I just started the soft food stage and I am now starting to feel normal. I honestly was exhausted until I started eating normal again. Dont worry, you will be feeling better soon:thumbup:

I only had a couple of days like that (no reason I could think of) I just had to give into it and toke it easy. I was about 15-16 days out. I called in body adjustment time. Now that I am back to a real life, I get kicked out easily. I had to drive about 6 hours on Thurs. and back home on Fri. I worked about 2 hrs. yesterday and today and I was wiped out. I took a nap about 1:45 and was out till 5:30, there will be no problem getting to sleep tonight.

I was banded 9 days ago and still very tired! I tried going back to work after 5 days and ran myself down, now i am off work until Thursday of this coming week. I notice i need a small nap during the day. I was the same way when i had my gall bladder removed. All surgeries take a lot from your body. And your body is going through a lot of changes not to mention the amount of calories we intake now has dropped big time so less fuel. It will get better!

Niterun, congrats on the 30 pounds! Way to go!

skw08 - hang in there, you will feel more like yourself in the coming weeks and eventually you'll have even more energy.

DD told me this weekend that she couldn't get over how energetic I am now. :-D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
