  2. hi lapbandgirl, it may be a few days... take a stool softener 2x's a day until regular... that is what the hospital gave me, and it worked like a charm without any pain and straining. good luck amy

  8. i agree with you missy. These are very trying times right now. I can't imagin having had no health insurance to help me get my band. I feel for those people who don't have the means or the insurance or whatever and not be able to have the oportunity to get control of their health. If i were them id probably vent too. I realize too that in this economy anyone could be hit and lose insurance or a job. its very scary and people need to be able to go where they feel safe and say whats on their minds. im glad that LBT is here to be an outlet for people. amy
  9. i eat carbs, just a small amount. I even have ice cream on occation. i have lost consistenly even without a fill. I get one at my post op on may 6. good luck! amy
  10. definitly call your doc about the incisions!
  11. hi i totally feel your pain! it took me three weeks before I could lay on my side (I slept in my recliner) it was a long three weeks, but it does get better. now i can sleep on my side and my tummy without any discomfort. good luck and hang in there! amy
  12. hi im amy and i am 5' tall and was 203 when i was banded on march 20th.(my highest was 209) I too felt like the smallest one in the room when i went for my seminars... but i too have all sorts of health issues and am so thankful for this tool that is going to help me change my life forever. Im down a total of 21lbs and 15 since surg! I still have a little less than 70 to go. good luck to all of us for continued sucess!!! amy

you could just say that your stomache is out of sorts, not feeling too good... good luck amy
  14. hi i was banded on march 20th of this year and i was told that I would not get a fill for 6 weeks post op. each doctor is different. I am sorry u are feeling ao frustrated. just know that many people gain when they start adding food to their diet, so if ur losing anything that is an extra bonus. Ive been told time and time again that this is the healing phase and any weight loss is awsome. Just stay focused on healing. good luck amy
  15. congrats!! I think everyone is different and im glad you found what works for you, and i think im on my way too!! good luck and continued sucess!!! amy P.S. don't listen to all the negative shit, people are jelous bc they're not getting ur results!
  16. hi, i did go to the support groups before i was banded, but not since. I think maybe bandsters go to get questions answered? i really don't know, i do know that they have support groups just for people already banded. im not sure when the next support group meeting is, you can call the office they have all the dates and where they are. did u choose a doc yet? amy
  17. i have cigna, and they made me wait 6 months to lose weight with a plan ie.. my doc put me on a diet and i had to weigh in once a month for 6 months. I barely lost anything, and i too had co morbidities. they finally aproved me and i was banded on march 20th of this year. with cigna, u have to jump through their hoops, be persistent and you'll get approved. they are total pains in the butt! good luck, you'll be approved, just stick with nagging them! amy
  18. hi im amy and i was banded with dr. haag on march 20th of this year. He is the best, he has a great sense of humor, he is fabulous at his job! can't ask for more!! good luck all, amy
  19. hi my name is amy and i live in springfield too! I have dr. Haag, he is in the same office as dr.Fiallo. I love haag he's been awsome. I know people who have Fiallo and they are happy with him also. when r u scheduled for surg? you must be excited to get this journey started. I have been banded a little over 3 weeks, and im very happy to have gotten the band. If u want to compare notes, drop me a line! amy
  20. i do wonder tho... what if u have an emergency... like too full, or an obstuction? maybe u could find a doctor close to u to do fills and be there for emergencies if they should ever come up? (im not saying that u will have an emergency, but it's always safe to have a back up) i wish u lots of luck on your journey! amy
  21. just tell me when, and if im available Id love to chat!!
  22. ive had an endoscopy, and they knock u out for it, it is a piece of cake... don't worry! good luck amy
  23. i really think it differs for everyone. I had my surg 3 weeks ago, and i don't feel like im 100% yet. I still get sore when i try to lift my 20month son. my energy level is getting much better now that i am on mushies. and i finally was able to sleep in my bed last night. before that i was sleeping in my recliner bc it hurt to lay flat or on my sides. it gets better everyday. I wish u lots of luck!! amy
  24. I had my period the day of surgery and they gave me these little net undies. I had to wear a pad, they wouldn't allow tampons. my net undies were unattractive, but worked just fine. No worries! good luck on ur surgery! my
  25. i was banded on march 20th and i don't have a fill yet. I can comfortably eat 1/2 cup of food at a time, if i eat more than that i get nauseated. I eat every 2-3 hours and have lost 12lb since surgery and 18 total. i think a 1/4 cup is too little to get all your calories in. if u don't eat enough calories it can stall your weight loss. good luck all amy
