Plateau
You and I started at a similar weight and are currently at a similar weight. So...congratulations on the weight that you have lost. I know you're frustrated as I would be and have been during this process. However, after my fourth fill, I have had the restriction that is necessary for me to avoid emotional eating. I wholeheartedly agree with you about more restriction and possibly needing a fill. I would have a heart-to-heart with my doctor. My doctor actually told me that my weight loss would be slower because I didn't have a lot to lose. On my journey, my problem is that when you don't have a lot of weight to lose, it's easier to get complacent or just satisfied. Like you, I wear a size 10/12 and my goal is a comfortable size 8. However, it's hard to complain when I used to be a size 16/18. Anyway, I didn't pay 13,500 to ALMOST get to my goal...I want to reach goal. I said all that to say...I understand your frustration:)

If I knew then What I know Now!!!
I wish I had done the pre-op diet....most people lose a significant amount of weight during that time. I wish I had waited to have my surgery in January and not right before Thanksgiving and Christmas on Nov. 20th. I think I would have been more focused on exercise. Although my weight loss has been slower than I thought it would have been, I have NO regrets. Someone earlier said it best...and I agree....I have cheated my band and still I have lost weight. What would have happened had I followed all the rules?

One year out!!

New Month - Renewed Focus
June 1, 2009 178.8 Chest - 37" Waist - 31" Hips - 42.5" Arm - 12.5" Thigh - 24.5" I am so happy that I am over halfway to my goal of 150 lbs. I am receiving compliments on a daily basis about my weight loss. I am striving to reach my goal because I haven't been at it since high school. However, if I don't lose another pound, I still feel good about my progress. I feel so much better about myself. I was headed on a path of destruction. I have no doubt in my mind that I had I not opted for the lapband, I would have reached 300 pounds during this end of my stressful year on my job. I know that I must become more consistent at drinking more water, taking my multivitamin, and exercising in order to promote more weight loss.

I'm dreaming of Plastic Surgery....
You are definitely an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing. I also liked the fact that even though you have another area that you want to work to improve, you don't allow that to overshadow all of your progress! Keep up the good work!

Papaya Enzyme

Is it harder to lose the second half of your weight
Like you, I have never had a problem losing the weight. It's the keeping it off that has not been my strength. My weight loss has been slow, but I spent the first three months trying to fight my band (eating slider foods) instead of following the rules. Consequently, I have seen more weight loss the past two months than I saw the first three months because I wasn't focused. We all should be commended for our journey.

Do you gain on liquids after fill?
I normally lose weight immediately after a fill. You've done very well with weight loss. Keep up the good work!

Band plugged with mucus (sorry TMI)
I hope you feel better soon. I am glad you decided to post because had I gotten sick (flu, sinus, etc.), I would have known it would effect my band. I hope you feel better soon. Please keep us posted!

Checking in - 14 months post surgery
Thanks for this encouraging post! I am 6 months out and I have lost a little over thirty pounds. In the past, I was disappointed; however, I am so grateful now. Like you said, I thank God for the progress and I am not where I used to be.

What Plateau?
May 22, 2009 179.8 I couldn't believe the scale this morning...I lost over 2 lbs which put me in the 170's and a total weight loss of 33.2 lbs. I am so thankful for this forum and all of the encouraging comments that were left. I took some B12, increased my water intake and walking, and stopped the snacking after 6:00 p.m. I am definitely getting a lot of positive comments about my weight loss. My clothes are fitting loose and I feel so...good that I could scream! I am over half-way to my goal of 150 lbs.

Fun Goals...
When I arrive at my goal weight, I look forward to the following: 1. Wearing sleeveless shirts. 2. Wearing shorts. 3. Cutting my hair. I would love to get a breast lift too, but I have to finish paying for my band first!

Plateau...please go away
Thank you guys for stopping by and leaving encouraging words. It really means a lot to know that there are others having or have gone through a similiar experience as me. Plateaus can be frustrated, but I am not going to let it be an excuse to become discouraged and give up.

I just have to tell someone......
Congratulations...keep up the good work because you're worth it!

Plateau...please go away
May 19, 2009 182.2 For the past two weeks or so, I have been at or about 182 lbs. I want so very badly to be in the 170's. :smile2: I know this is a journey...I am not going to give up. I am going to put my metabolism in gear. I haven't been walking as much, so I am going to increase my activity again. Also, I need to drink my water too! So...let's see how those two goals work for me!
