  1. One year ago today i had my surgery! 60 lbs later...i feel great!!! It is a slow journey for me....and im far from being done!! But, i averaged just a little over one pound a week! im happy and my surgeon is happy!! 30 more pounds to go!!! Cant wait to lose more!! :frown:
  2. the EXACT same thing is happeneingto me right now....the gurgling and the weird noises coming from my throat. Im confused...wondering if im to tight....i have 7.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. And i think im having really good restriction...ive been losing good!! I have ALSO been putting off going to get an unfill cause i am afraid it will to TOO LESS of a fill for me. I dont know what i should do... DO you think i am hurting myself and the band by maybe being to tight?!? Let me know what you all think!! Thanks so much!
  3. :thumbup:GOOD FOR YOU!! I have 6 more pounds to go before I am in ONEderland!! I CANT WAIT!!! I havent been there in 15 years!
  4. Thanks so much for all your advice everyone!! Im gonna try and up my calories.....i think its gonna be hard...but im gonna try!!!
  5. 800 -900 calories is what he recommened...but that WAS awhile ago...i go back in 3 weeks.....i definately need to talk with him about this?? Can i ask how many calories you are on??? I just REALLY want to be out of the 200's!!!!
  6. I was banded 9 months ago and have lost 55lbs!! I have went from a size 20 to a size 14!!:glare: However, for the last 3 weeks or so, I have not lost a single pound. I go for a fill in 3 weeks.....which seems SO far away:thumbdown: I only need to lose 6 more pounds and I will be in ONEderland for the first time in FOREVER!! I also leave for a family trip to Disney World in 4 weeks.....my goal was to be under 200lbs by then....im so close....just STUCK!! I have a membership to your local YMCA. I go 5 days a week. I do the treadmill every morning for 45 - 55 minutes.... i jog the first 1/2 mile or so, then fast walk another 2 miles for a total of 2 - 3 miles. Then at night I go back to the Y for either Water Aerobics or Spinning Class. My band is at great restriction. Not sure if its at the perfect restriction yet?!?! I watch what I eat....and am very careful not to end up PB'ing. My diet ususally consists of a liquid Breakfast (band is SO tight in the mornig), a lean cuisine for lunch, then a small meal for dinner...usually whatever my family is eating. I seldom snack...if i do, its usually just a yogurt with granola, or a Jello or pudding cup. I dont know what I am doing wrong. Is anyone else having this same thing happen to them? I would appreciate ANY suggestions you have! Should I exercise more?? Should I add calories?? Eat less calories?? BTW...i usually eat between 800-900 calories a day. Maybe thats just not enough and I should eat more!!! Thanks for letting my vent!! Keep your fingers crossed that my scale starts moving!!
  7. its normal to be tighter in the morning....and loser by dinner time!! Just work with it!! I do a liquid Breakfast.....a Lean Cuisine for lunch and a little bigger dinner......and its working for me!! You WILL find your sweet spot.....it took me 6 - 7 fills before i found mine at 7.5 cc's in a 10 cc band!
  8. Thanks so much everyone!!! Eventhough im ALMOST under 200 lbs...i still have 25 more lbs after that to go!!! Patience is the key!! Slow and steady!! Good luck to EVERYONE!!!:smile2:
  9. I have 6 more pounds to go.....to be UNDER 200 lbs!!!! I hoping to be there in the next 2 weeks or so!! YAYYYY!!!:smile2:
  10. once i got the good restriction...i DID up my workouts....i go to the gym 4 - 5 times a week....take a water aerobics class, and do a Spinning class once in a while....when i am on the treadmill....i do it for an hour.....run for a mile...then fast walk the rest of the time.....
  11. i got good restriction at 7.5 cc's in a 10 cc band!! Be patient!! it took me 6 months after my surgery to get the restriction...and for the weight to REALLY start coming off!! Good luck!:smile2:
  12. i didnt get "perfect" restriction until my 6th fill....and thats when i really stated losing the weight!! I am at 7.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. My first 5 months post op...i only lost 32 lbs. And since my 6th fill...i have lost another 20lbs. Ive lost the 20 lbs just since January! Hang in there....once you get that right fill the weight will start dropping!! I was very fraustrated.....patience is the key! Good luck to you all!:smile2:
  13. hi everyone! all i can say is PATIENCE IS THE KEY! I was banded 7months ago...i have had 7fills...and the last one was the magic one! I now have 7.8 cc's in a 10 cc band. I NEVER thought i would get here.... my progress has been so slow. i lost 20 lbs right after surgery...then 10 lbs over 4 months after that. I would get so down and depressed about it:mad2: My dr kept telling me to be patient and that my time would come. I almost thought that maybe i was gonna be the ONE person that the surgery WAS NOT gonna work for. Let me tell ya though! Since my last fill...things have been awesome!! i have lost another 14 lbs!! I have to force myself to eat at meal time....and there is no need for snacking between meals! Today for example...i had a 1/2 Cup of oatmeal for Breakfast, and an apple with peanutbutter for lunch. And just from those i am SO FULL...i dont even want to think about dinner! I have been praying for this moment for the past 7 months! PLEASE be patient....if my time came...i KNOW yours will too! Remember that its not unusual for you to have between 5 - 8 fills before you feel good restriction! I know its hard....but its worth it! Good luck to all of you!:cursing:
  14. i was banded 7 months ago and have lost 35 lbs. I really started slowing down in the weight lose.......so, in the meantime my surgeon started me on phentermine. He told me that he puts about 40% of all his lap band patients on this medicine about a year out of surgery......he thinks it gives you that little extra push that is needed to keep going when things are slowing down. He also put me on it because i started out with a lower BMI than most bandsters do.....im not losing as fast as some. Im really hoping that this med does the trick! I have been on Phentermine for a week now, and have lost 6 lbs! It totally takes away the hungar...TOTALLY! I have to force myself to eat 3 small meals. Since then too...i have also had my 6th fill.....i am at 7 cc's in a 10 cc band....AND....i think we have found the "sweet spot" I can only eat about a cup of food....the restriction is great now!! This is what i have been praying for ever since my surgery in june!! I think with my restriction being right on, and starting the Phen....im really gonna start losing!! Keep your fingers crossed!!!
