  1. I have been down to 2.2 ccs since last Thursday and unfortunatley I have gained a couple lbs. I go back in for a fill in about a week. Is it possible to eat like a bandster when you don't have restriction? Let me know your thoughts on how you did it!
  2. Do you have correct restriction? Are you making poor food choices? Recommit yourself, go in for a fill and get back on the band wagon!
  3. I always start my day with a protein shake. It gives me 30 grams of protein.
  4. I use GNC's protein shake. 1 scoop with a cup of non fat milk gives you 30 grams of protein.
  5. Andrea, I lost about 60 lbs my first year. That is about 1.1 lbs per week. You may lose faster, it just depends on if you exercise or not. Don't be discouraged. Yes, it will probable take you 2 years to lose 140. Julie
  6. I would go in for another fill. There is nothing better than good restriction. Good luck.
  7. I would try eating some grapes with the skin on first. They went down my band fine.
  8. There is no concern on losing 3 lbs. I would be more concerned if you are losing more than 5 lbs in a week. You will lose muscle mass. I lose 1 lb a week and am 40 lbs from goal.
  9. I would wait. The Holidays are always a tough time.
  10. The first fill usually isn't that much so you may not feel the difference. It took me 5 fills to feel real restriction. Hang in there.
  11. Besides eating a sandwich, I probably would eat one big ass plate of pasta or I would have had steak and lobster. Yummy.
  12. My surgeon said I could eat anything that fit through a straw. That being said, I enjoyed creamy soups a lot. They really helped my hunger pains. Yogurt should be okay as well, especially the liquid yogurt drinks. Make sure you just double check with your surgeon.
  13. I would definitely eat until your BMI is 40%. You will have plenty of time to lose the weight. Good luck.
  14. I would have no problem following up with the surgeon. I would call him every 2 weeks or so. My approval took about 3 months.
  15. I think you should be on the mushie stage. Be very careful of solids until your surgeon tells you it is okay. Also, it is normal to eat like a normal person if you have started your fills. My surgeon recommends 6 weeks after surgery to begin the process of fills. It took me several months to get the spot that I eat less. Good luck.
  16. How is your restriction? You need to omit all bad foods from you cupboards as well. You can do this.
  17. You are right on track, great work. 1-2 lbs a week is perfect. It is slower but is better for you in the end. Good job.
  18. I can only eat 1/4 cup of food and I'm happy with that. I always drink a protein shake for breakfast followed by lean protein for my lunch and dinner. I typically snack on cheese or more protein.
  19. You look great. Keep up the good work.
  20. I had the stomach flu and tried to throw up and it didn't get past the band. It was so strange. The band blocked me from throwing up. Its happened more than once.
  21. Wendell, thanks for the great post. Very informative. Julie
  22. Sweatpea and all the newbies out there. When you aren't filled it is just like NOT having a band. The average weight loss is only 1-2 lbs a week as well. You are being way to harsh on yourselves. I gained 7 lbs in between my fills when I first started. It is only natural when you go on solid food. It took me about 9 months to finally get good restriction and 5 fills. Take it easy. It will all come.
  23. Great NSV. I'm an 18 and can't wait until I hit 16 which is my goal. Good job!
  24. Dr. McKeen in San Jose is wonderful. He takes many Mexico patients. He typically doesn't fill under fluro because he is so good. He has no problem finding my low profile port on the first attempt. Good luck.
  25. Dr. Mckeen in San Jose, CA
