  1. You should be okay in a couple days. When I gulp water I PB too. I always start my day with a cup of coffee and within 2 hours have a protein shake.
  2. Yes, hiccups are very common. Its a sign of restriction. Glad you had your surgeon stick you. Have him do them moving forward.
  3. Cindy, if I were you I would drink a chocolate protein shake. They are healthy and should help with your chocolate cravings. Good luck.
  4. Dave, good for you. Imagine how good you will feel when you shead all the other weight. You are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  5. I probably lost about 8 lbs. I am considered an average loser. Good luck.
  6. Keep your eye on the prize. 2 weeks liquid diet isn't bad. It will prepare you for post op. Good luck.
  7. Candy, I am down about 65% of my excess weight since June of last years. I have about 40 more lbs to go.
  8. I did okay. Creamy soups really helped me. YOu can have anything that can fit through a straw. The soup really made the difference.
  9. Hi Lainee, how are you doing post band? I have been banaded for 14 months now and am down about 65 lbs. I love my band. I'm now a size 18 from a size 24.
  10. My emotional and binge eating went away after being banded. I am no longer as hungry and can't eat as much. I have lost my desire for food.
  11. I love my band. I haven't been a size 18 in 16 years.
  12. Penny, I tried everything imaginable. I've been in therapy, used diet pills, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, low fat, low carb, just about everything. I lost 30 lbs before being banded. I just felt that I was at a stop still. I started my preband weight at 282 and I couldn't be happier. I haven't seen size 18 in probably 15 years so I am stoked.
  13. What a loser. He deserves everything he gets!
  14. Dana, Dr. McKeen in San Jose is really good. He takes a lot of Mexican based patients. Good luck.
  15. I would call your surgeon and go see him. It sounds like you need to give your band a rest.
  16. Yes, with proper restriction your hunger should dissipate.
  17. 1/4 cup is good restriction. If you have trouble with solids, I would go in for a slight unfill. Good luck.
  18. Dave, it sounds like you are on the right track. Good for you! You will love it when you get some good restriction.
  19. Just relax and take care of yourself. Ask for pain meds if you need them and get plenty of rest.
  20. Heather, congrats on your surgery date. You will love the restriction the band gives you! Good luck.
  21. If you aren't filled you don't have restriction. What you are experiencing is normal. It will change when you start getting fills.
  22. Don't be so down on yourself. You need a fill if you can eat more than 1/4-1/2 cup of food. Don't worry if it take you several fills to reach that level. You are normal. Just keep going back for me. Don't be shy.
  23. Bridget, I break the rules and drink with meals without a problem. I can still only consume 1/4 cup of food. Also, 800 calories is pretty low. You may find that you can still lose 1-2 lbs per week at 1k to 1200 calories. Good luck.
  24. Rain, isn't it great to have that level of restriction!? Welcome to bandland. Good job.
