  1. ettienne, how much food can you eat? If you are always hungry it might be time for a fill. You shouldn't be that hungry.
  2. When the fat around the stomach disappears you tend to need another fill. That is quite common. Even if you drop 6 lbs the band knows it.
  3. Marie, good luck to you. Your fill should help a lot.
  4. Wow, you are doing fantastic. Way to go!
  5. Your stomach is growling even if you aren't hungry. Strange I know.
  6. Eggs and tortillas (flour). I throw them up everytime I push it.
  7. YOu can have artificial sweetner without a problem. The problem you may have is your poor eating habits. Junk food can go down the lapband easily. Eat your protein first then your vegies. Most likely you will not be able to consume much bread. Initially you will probably eat 1 cup of food. Then when you start getting fills that will go down. I can only eat 1/4 cup of food now at 5 fills. Good luck with your decision.
  8. You doctor did the right thing. YOu should be fine. I was told by my surgeon when that happened to me that sometimes the stomach lining will thicken giving you more restriction. The only thing you can do is get an unfill to help you. Give it time. That is all you need. Start with a small fill next time as well.
  9. Sbee, she is incorrect. There are hundreds of stories out there of people who have met their goal weights. You can do it. It may take you some time, but all in all the lapband works. Keep the faith and don't listen to her!
  10. No, get back on the bandsters rules. Eat lean protein first. Even if you can eat 1 cup of food eat your protein then your vegies first. I always start my day with a protein shake as well. One thing for sure, if you are really hungry you need a fill. My doctor does fills at 6 weeks. Good luck.
  11. Hi. I have only been banded 14 months so I'm not that old of a bandster. Restriction is what helps me. I can only eat 1/4 cup of food at a time. You have done great. Keep up the good work.
  12. Thanks for the insight. I am motivated and after my vacation next week I am recommitting myself. Thanks again.
  13. Paula, just get back on the bandwagon and the weight will come off. LIquid calories are dangerous. I know because I too drink too many of them! Good luck.
  14. If you are only 1 month out and have lost 9 lbs then you are an average loser. Don't expect more than 1-2 lbs per week. YOu may set yourself up for failure. Good luck.
  15. Yes, I had nauseau from time to time after surgery. Call your surgeon and ask him for an anti nausea medication. It really helped me.
  16. Don't beat yourself up. I gained weight before my first fill too. YOu will be okay.
  17. Joanne, keep going back for fills until you can no longer eat more than 1/4 cup of food. It took me 5 fills.
  18. Hutersmom, way to go on your NSV! I am in a size 18 too and am thrilled. Good job!
  19. Go get a fill and get recommitted. You can do it.
  20. Hi Paula, may I ask what size you are in now? Just be careful and don't let the BMI stuff fool you. If you feel good and look good set your goal at 195. Don't yo yo. Just my 2 cents. Julie
  21. That doesn't surprise me. I weighed in and lost 20 more lbs at the gym and my body fat went up. That means that I am losing lean muscle. I'm not surprised this happened to you.
  22. I love the show but yes it is a little a little bit unrealistic. Most people don't work out 3 hours a day! That is what I heard they do.
  23. Yes, protein shakes are great. I would sip those through the day. Mine has 30 grams of protein in it.
