I am looking for a qualified doctor to do a fill in the Sacramento area or San Francisco area. I would like the flouro fill because of the acuracy and decreased chance of damaging the port. My doc is in Mexico and I just don't feel like traveling. Please help!

It is very expensive to get the floro here in the states. I, too, had my lapband done in Mexico as have three of my girlfriends. We have gone to Mexico once (at about our one year anniversary) but have found a wonderful doctor that we can see here. Dr. Helmut Billy has a practice in Ventura but comes up to Truckee once a month or so to do fills (and, I am sure, to spend some time with his family in Tahoe) - he does not use Floro but is great at giving fills and is a wonderful doctor. I do not have my phone book with me but you can either write me back and I will get you the number next week or. I think I found him in the phone book for his Ventura practice. they will give you the number for his Truckee clinic. He is wonderful! I live in Tracy, Ca. Are you in Sacramento? Have a great day

I live in the bay area, and just had my first fill today with Kaiser(it was a pain to get approved by them since i didn't have my surgery with them). I did of course look elsewhere just in case I was denied. I came across Dr. Helmuth Billy from the beliteweight people, and yes, I believe he is great and very affordable. He has truckee and ventura locations. His number is 530-541-1682, or his toll free number 866-887-2572. I actually got his brochure/bio in the mail yesterday. I would definitely recommend him if you don't have insurance.

Dr. McKeen in San Jose is wonderful. He takes many Mexico patients. He typically doesn't fill under fluro because he is so good. He has no problem finding my low profile port on the first attempt. Good luck.
