  1. Hey Telly, looks like you found the solution for you I can't relate as I have never done any sleep eating, but I am sure you aren't alone. I do turn my alarm clock off while I sleep though.
  2. Yay Joyce! Well I keep slowly losing, I wish I was losing fast but without any restriction that is hard to do. I have the VG so right now the 21lbs I have lost is all me. I start beauty school tomorrow which will take me from sitting most of the day to standing all day so hopefully that combined with a fill next week will start to pick up the pace. Either way I am on target for a 100lb loss in the first year. I know why I am losing slow, I have days where I totally eat the wrong things, but I am getting better at it. Boy I hope that first fill is an aggressive one.
  3. I don't have restriction yet but in the evenings I can totally scarf on popcorn. I am trying to break that habit.
  4. I looked at height weight charts to find the "ideal" I chose at the top end of ideal and that is my starting point for a final goal. If I never make it all the way there oh well, but I am sure as heck gonna try  Also remeber obese people build up a lot of muscle and heavy bone mass from carrying so much extra weight. Your ideal will probably be a little bit higher than the charts.
  5. I was a diet coke fiend, can't tolerate it now at all. I drank it all the way up till midnight the night before surgery. Quitting smoking is awesome and really hard, good for you :clap2:
  6. Well I am no expert but I have known several women who had otc pregnancy tests read false negatives, never a false positive. One women was told repeatedly by a local clinic that she was not pregnant. It took a good 8-10 weeks before she would test positive. When they did the ultrasound they discovered that she had been pregnant all along. Go figure.
  7. ~Starr Heaven Hiney~
  8. I have felt it when i didn't chew properly, and boy did I. Chew chew chew, it can get downright uncomfortable if you don't. Mostly it is just a sensation, I think wheetsin described it pretty well. I didn't feel it till I was on solids, and then only a couple of times. I am sure I will experience it much more when I get some restriction.
  9. Well I don't even have good restriction yet and chinese food is a no go. It doesn't make me PB exactly it goes down eventually but is an uncomfortable ride. Pizza is the same thing, tried that for the first time tonight and well, I won't be doing that again. Everyone is different just gotta try things cautiously and see how you fare.
  10. Everyones body is different. Mine adapts to whatever I do unless I mix it up a bit on a regular basis. So I keep my calories to a range that give me quite a bit of variance and every other weekend I don't count calories or sugars I just eat what feels good according to my band keeping the protien first rule.
  11. Grats to Joyce and Wheetsin :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: You are both doing awesome!!!!!
  12. I told myself over and over, just one more diet before I take the plunge into wls. I spent 3yrs doing that!!!!! I could have been thin for my wedding instead of having photos that I hate. I could feel good right now instead of tired with a back ache. If only I had done this sooner. If I knew then what I know now I would have gone to mexico and had the band put in years ago. I feel like my youth was wasted on being fat and unhealthy shackled with a low self esteem. This is about you not about your husband. You have to know that you are ready. Just don't wait so long you have a sore behind from kicking yourself.
  13. A nostalgic bikini, boy shorts with a bikini top, pink with white polka dots and eyelet trim.
  14. WAHOOOOOOOO! My scale now longer cries out in agony! It gives me a number!!!!!!!!! 330lbs and that is gonna be the scale I stick with so from here out it should be fairly accurate. Meanwhile A total loss of 20lbs and not even a fill yet. I know many lose much more in the beginning, but maybe this means I won't hit as many plateaues, a girl can hope after all
  15. I heard a rumor that it was RNY. Not sure how credible the rumor was though.
  16. I think I'm the opposite. I finally got my period to end (with a little medical help) and now I have more restriction than I did. Kinda half way between initial swelling and wide open. Go figure.
  17. I tried to eat a hard boiled egg mashed up with a little butter. I obviously missed a piece of the egg white and it was miserable going for about 30 minutes. I have virtually no restriction and yet I still felt it :Banane13: maybe i have more restriction than i thought?
  18. Thanks, I think I am gonna do clear liquids for a few days and clear out my system too. Start fresh.
  19. OK so here it is. I am at 4 weeks and on solids, no restriction. I am taking milk of mag about every other day and it works great, but in the meantime i back up again almost imediately. Yesterdays food sat in my main stomach most of the day making me full before i realised it, I concentrated on when the pouch is full or satiated, not really sure how to feel the main stomach unless it is stuffed and uncomfortable. Last night I was just sitting at my computer and I had a little burp that brought up some contents from my lower stomach into the back of my mouth including the acids. I have zero heartburn or reflux since the surgery and I used to have a lot. What can I do to keep things moving on a regular basis? Is something wrong? Any help is much appreciated.
  20. Zannie I feel for you. We couldn't afford it either, no health insurance right now, my husband is self employed. Fortunately my parents stepped up and paid for everything. Not everyone is that lucky but I had a woman say to me a long time ago. Don't you think you are worth the price of a new car? And I said to myself heck yeah I am worth more than that. I guess what I am saying is, you and your health are worth every penny, and as soon as you can find a way, do it! Finance it, take our a second mortgage anything. Good luck
  21. Not all proteins are complete sources though. Does the Isopure have complete protein? Does anyone know?
  22. Oh dang what a hardship, not only are we all gonna have to buy a whole new wardrobe but we're gonna need to buy all new shoes too
  23. I am with you Yoda, I have two weeks to go, and my skin is so dry, I need a soak with some bath oil bad! Lotions just don't cut it for me, I hate taking the time and having my hands feel slimy. Bath oil is so much better, and I have a new bath pillow too.

I wanted to know how much was realistic for me to lose and i figured at my current base calories burn if i take in 1000 calories a day i will lose 5lbs per week. 1000 per day is not unreasonable especially with the band. I am with you Teli, as soon as I have restriction and am moving from 1500 and hating it to 800-1000 and loving it. As i lose and my basal burn lowers I will up the exercise. As soon as my back and joints can handle it I want to start running again. I would love to lose 5 a week on average. I am not sure my body will cooperate but I am sure gonna try. I am young enough that, my skin should handle it just fine, and nothing could be harder on my organs than being fat. So Teli, I have two weeks to my fill, then I will be joining you on that goal. I already met it this month and the hard way, with no restriction!
  25. Calories seems to be very individual. Some people do 700-800, others do much more. My aunt lost over 70lbs in the last year and she eats 700-800 calories per day. She is now about 20 pounds from goal! I am just starting on this journey but I can tell you that one single number isn't the key. There is no just eat x amount and you will lose weight and feel great. We all have to find that spot on our own, with guidance from our doctor and dietician.
