  1. The port incision takes the longest to heal. It was closer to week 2 into 3 before the pain was completely gone. As far as hunger, you may or may not get hungry that soon. As your swelling from surgery goes down, you may get hungry unless your doctor put in fill at the time of your surgery. Then again, there are some that went months before they were hungry. Every person is different and will react differently to the band. I hope that feel better soon.
  2. I have the opposite problem. He is the one that can't afford to live. Even though I am unhappy, I can't make up in my mind to not care that he can't afford even the basics. He would have to choose between paying rent (in a hotel, not even an apartment) and eating. I know how much he makes. He couldn't pay rent, utilities, pay his car note, and buy food. The last time I put him out, he lost like 30 pounds because he couldn't afford to eat. I felt so sorry for him. His clothes were falling off of him. I know that I shouldn't let that control my decision, but it does. I know that is a stupid reason to remain unhappy, but I just don't really know what else to do.
  3. Add a tropical drink with a cute little umbrella and you've got company! Of course, in my version of this dream, I am small enough to fit appropriately into a bikini.
  4. It can be, but then it is all relative. 3cc to you may not do anything. You want to remember that stress can affect how your fill feels, so try not to borrow trouble. I had close to that amount, but I never really felt it. The only real difference for me was eating white bread and white rice fast. Just take it slow and follow what ever instructions for the first few days after a fill. Remember to sip liquids slow, and also to take smaller bites. It will take some getting used to.
  5. Don't be scared. Although there are some scary stories out there, most people don't even feel their first fill. It is typically not painful to have the fill. I know that I could not really tell a difference after my first fill. It really depends on whether your doctor is aggressive with his fill. Most of the doctors are not. They build on the fills to allow you time to get used to them. You will do fine. Good luck to you both!
  6. I completely understand how you are feeling. How long does it take you all to feel your fill? I had my 3rd fill this past Tuesday. I could feel the swelling restriction and did liquids. Now I don't feel anything. I eat my protein then veggies, but I am still hungry. I eat way more than I think I should and I have gained 2 pounds. WTH? I can still feel my liquid gurgling down my throat, but I don't get that satisfied feeling with food.
  7. What part of TN do you visit? I know you are visiting family, right?
  8. Our fire alarms go off so much because of trouble, that when we actually had a fire, we didn't know it. We were in the building when these other people that monitor our alarms called to see if we had a fire. I was being a smart a$$ and asked, "would I be in the building if it was on fire?" Ha, I went looking and there was all of this smoke. The exit sign had shorted and caught on fire. It was hilarious and scary all at the same time.
  9. Ok, don't tell plain that I asked about him.
  10. Ok, so not trying to talk him up, but.... Where is plain? I haven't seen anything on here from him.
  11. I didn't get a card, but I honestly don't think I would use it if I did. I don't want to advertise that I am banded. I can either take food home with me or leave it on the table. I haven't actually been out to eat since banding. I would rather control my portions at home.
  12. I love the pictures. I don't have the room for the size tank I would want (I probably wouldn't take care of it the right way either) so I just go to the pet store and browse every now and then.
  13. How long have you used Firefox? Do you like it better than Internet Explorer?
  14. I eat pickles too. I have just had my 3rd fill and so far I can still eat them. Like everyone else has mentioned, eat them later in the day. I love a good crunchy kosher dill.
  15. I ate thin cheese grits that I had pureed before cooking them with a piece of sausage. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
  16. I hope that your mom makes it in town ok. Keep us posted. I am with you. I JUST got out of bed for the 2nd time. Still in my PJs. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I love that smiley!
  17. Unfortunately for me, we had already had our son before we got married. My husband was not always like this. He used to be helpful. He was not always so critical. Our relationship started changing when he realized that I made so much more money than he did. I guess that threatened his manhood. He had always known that I made more money, but he didn't realize that I made almost 3 times what he does. That isn't my fault, but once he knew that...it changed. He started getting super macho as if to make up for the fact that HE wasn't the one bringing home the bacon. I have tried counseling, but it can only help us both if he is willing to go.
  18. That is so wonderful. It really makes this easier to hear about great stories like this.
  19. When I point out that that he doesn't seem to have a job to do, he tells me that he does. When I ask what that job is, he gives me that guy answer of, "I don't have to answer that." What that means is, he can't think of anything that he actually does other than making a mess. I am trying really hard to teach my son to be a better man than that. I shouldn't have to teach my son how to be a good man. I try really hard not to say anything bad about his dad because I don't ever want it to be said that I turned him against his dad. If he ever turns against him, it will be because of how he perceives his dad and not how I told him it was.
  20. My husband does that. He doesn't seem to see it. Everyone has a job to do around the house except him. He seems to think his job is to critique everyone else. That chaps my butt. I asked him if he feels better when he makes me feel bad. I completely understand. Then there is my mom (who has never been married or lived with a man) there telling me that now that we are married, I just have to suck it up. I just don't know how much longer I can deal with the unhappiness. I haven't made up my mind to separate again. We separated earlier this year and that was the happiest I have been in so long. It is so hard. I wish us all the strength to make it through our situations. Whether it is the decision to stay or go, we each are going to need it.
  21. Then a toast to you!
  22. I like the idea of a slutty lapband guy. That gives all kinds of ideas.
  23. I almost spewed coffee on that one! ROFL!
  24. Do you think fedex or UPS would let you send that to TN? SMS-you look great in your new picture. Also, I hate the hidden racism too. I deal with it a lot at work. Tap-If you really want the job, talk to your friend about it. I completely understand how you feel about it though. That is so tough.
  25. So it's streaming music? I will have to try it. I like Jaheim too. My DH bought one of his CDs for me a couple of years ago. I like the new John Legend songs. I had everyone that you mentioned except Duffy on my MP3 player. I am hoping that the tech support people will go ahead and give me a return authorization so that I can get it fixed or repaired. I have only had this MP3 player since July.
