  1. Congrats! I am new too. I am in the holding pattern of insurance approval! Good luck with your new journey!
  2. Thank you so much for the welcome. I have been reading quite a few of the posts trying to learn as much as I can about the surgery before I have it (if I get approval from my insurance).
  3. Hi. I have BCBS of Ill, also. My doctor used 6 appointments that I had previously. We are going to see if they are going to accept that. I had to do the psych evaluation and nutritionist visit. I am just waiting for my surgeon's office to send my information to insurance for approval. I wish you good luck with yours.
  4. Hi. My doctor said no sodas ever again after being banded. I am not banded yet, but thankfully, I don't drink a lot of soda anyway.
  5. My doctor requires a 2 week liquid only diet. 6 glucerna shakes a day and any clear, no calorie drinks I wanted. Good luck to us all.
  6. I understand how you feel about sleep apnea. I just knew I wouldn't feel rested when I woke up in the mornings. I was so nervous when I had my sleep study that I never thought I would sleep at all. Now, 2 years later, I can't sleep without my CPAP. I feel really awful when I even take a short nap without it. Now that I know about all of the health risks that come with sleep apnea, I am so glad that I kept my appointment for the sleep study.
  7. I just had my appointment this week. They asked about my life. They asked about if there was a history of drug abuse, eating disorders, and self hurting (i.e. cutting). Then he talked about my expectations from the band and how I plan to live with the band. It wasn't that bad.
  8. Hello everyone. I have been lurking around for a few weeks. I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts. It has been so informative and inspirational. :tongue_smilie: I figured it was time to say hello. I will try to not to ask the same questions over again.
