  1. I.. I mean, my friend has this problem. My friend seems to find the things that you say down right funny. What should I... I mean, she do about it?
  2. "play doctor", hmmmmm...I have done that... I mean my friend hasn't done that in years.
  3. Hey doc! Are you taking new patients?
  4. I have this image of plain doing a really awful Alvin and the Chipmunks impersonation.
  5. It is fairly common. I am sorry to say that I can't think of a single thing that actually helped the itching. You do want to do your best not to scratch them. You might try some topical itch cream around the area but not on the insicions.
  6. To do the multi quote, click on the multi button in each post that you want to quote. To only use 1 or 2 lines, just delete the parts of the post that you don't want to use leaving the information in the brackets before and after the quote.
  7. How funny! That is my husband every time he even breaks a nail!:w00t: You can do it Donna! :tt2::tt1: That is a new low! I love it! I am going to have to try that!
  8. Donna I really love the new picture. You look awesome!
  9. Next week, he will swear he is dying a slow, miserable death and that you couldn't possibly understand how he feels. Men are such babies when they are sick.
  10. I guess that is true about relevance. I was still wearing shorts when the temp was 57. I am freezing now, but it is 31 here today.
  11. Me too! We just have to look over them.
  12. How wonderful! You look amazing! What an inspiration you are to all of us!
  13. If you are tighter than normal and took 3 pills, they could be stuck or have just irritated the stoma. My doc allows advil (prefers liquid and flushed with water) on a limited basis. If your doctor never said no advil, then he/she may allow it. Most doctors say no advil period. My doc said as long as it's not everyday and is flushed through the stoma after taking, that it was ok. I hope that you feel better soon. Also, check with your doctor about his/her guidelines for advil.
  14. I'm going to say all of the above. Everything that you mentioned can cause tightness. The most common natural thing I have heard of is to drink something warm/hot before eating like tea or broth to prime the band. To be honest though, you might want to have them look at your band under fluro because water should never hurt going down. I hope that you are able to resolve this either way.
  15. Congrats on nursing school Carrie! What made you go into the medical profession?
  16. Ok, how the heck do we have Pizza Hut ads on here right below the ads for gastric surgeries? WTF!?!?!?!
  17. I am a little sore after fills. My doctor's office numbs me so I don't feel the fill, but the next day it is a little uncomfortable.
  18. Don't rub it in. It is 29 degrees here this morning with not even a hint of snow. It should not be this cold with no snow.
  19. I chose lapband because it is reversible. I also didn't like the drastic changes of my anatomy for gastric bypass. I have a family memeber that has had gastric bypass and didn't really do well. I didn't want that for me. As a matter of fact, when I first started checking on lapband. My insurance didn't cover it. I waited two years for my insurance to start covering lapband rather than have gastric bypass.
  20. Though I am sure you will get many different answers on this, your best bet is to talk with your doctor. Everyone's doctor has a different idea of what is ok or not ok. Get your doctor's take on it and follow that. Good luck on your surgery!
  21. Every person is different. I wasn't very swollen after surgery, so my bandster hell started right after surgery. I have had 2 fills and though it is better, I still get hungry sooner than 4 hours. Some doctors put some fill in during surgery, so some people never get hungry. If you are one of them, count your blessings. If not, your time for a fill will come sooner than you think. Good luck to all of you that have recently had surgery!
  22. Right now, we are still working on my recognizing what is really behind my want/need to eat. For example, when my DH and I get into an argument, recognizing that within an hour of that time, I am in the kitchen searching for something to eat. I know I am not hungry, but learning to recognize that I am really looking for comfort rather than the food. It gets tough because we are so used to eating without thinking about it. It comes from years of doing that. I struggle with that every day. I have to make myself slow down. Then stop to think about whether I am really hungry or just wanting control/comfort over whatever my situation is at the time. I wish us all the best.
  23. You are so funny!:girl_hug:
