What was the first thing you ate?

On day 8, if his patients feel like they are "starving", my surgeon allows a test meal of a scrambled egg. So, I ate a scrambled egg, and let me just say, it was the best scrambled egg I have EVER put into my mouth!

I ate yogurt. I was really scared about anything more solid getting stuck. After that went okay, the next meal was scrambled eggs, again no problem. By this time I was craving something with flavor, so I dunked a cracker into pesto for a taste with garlic and I loved it! I only ate two crackers but the pesto was the best thing I had ever tasted.

i was dying for something flavor full so i make ricotta bake:

container ricotta (LF)

half cup romano cheese

drained pckg frozen spinach

1tsp basil

1 egg

mix together, add to baking dish - add another 1/4c romano & bake till bubbly brown.

i added some marinara to mine - but i was craving italian food and this gave me my fix.

I purchased a Magic Bullet, and I had egg salad and some pimento cheese (just about a bite). I would recommend the Magic Bullet to anyone, It really processess things down as smooth as you want them. I had surgery on Wednesday, today I had some scrambled eggs. I'm still using the slim fast for my Protein requirements. I'm not hungry at all. I'm going to do some chicken salad and tuna salad next. food sure does taste good! I'm a bit scared of eating, so I'm not eating very much right now.

Its funny... My doctor didn't really push the whole soft diet mushy food thing except for the first week after surgery. When I went to my one week check and asked him what i could do next, he said to me-just no shrimp or steak. Try things slowly but go to a regular diet. I about fell out of the chair but I did it and tolerated everything well. Still scare of bread but that will come. I am now patiently waiting for my first adjustment on the 8th of Jan, because sometimes I feel like I am eating to much even though i have cut way back.

I had to get my ok from the surgeon before moving from liquid to mushy phase on my 2 week check up. The surgeon's office is over 4 hours away so right after my appt I went to a grocery store and bought cottage cheese and plastic spoons. That cottage cheese was amazing!

My first meal was scrambled eggs with cheese. Even though it has been a long time ago, I still remember how wonderful it tasted. It was a very, very special moment for me, lol.

As soon as my doctor said I could have mushies, I went to KFC and got mashed potatoes. They were the best thing I have ever tasted in my life!! LOL

I had sheppards pie (blended to death in the bullet) it was wonderful - but I could eat blended food right after surgery - so I had this the evening of my surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
