How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
HELP!.....I haven't been on here in a while because I'm too ashamed and disgusted in myself! I was banded in Nov/08, was doing good for a while, then I woke up one morning and could not even swallow water! I called my doctor, and went in and the nurse suggested a slight defill. That slight defill was back in October/09. I felt great after the slight defill, except for the fact that I could eat a lot again! Since then I have gained back 10 lbs! Now its almost like I was never banded except for the fact that its harder to eat, you all know what I mean, Lol. To makes things worse, since my slight defill, my husband of 18 years has told me he wants a divorce! Needless to say my old eating habits have returned! I eat constantly! and very bad food choice's too. I'm posting this because I feel it's the first step I need to get back on track. I am constantly forcing my food down with large sums of water and then I continue eating. Yesterday I ate so much that I thought my stomach was going to burst! I have decided to go away for a week to get away from everything. Doe's anyone know how flying affects our bands? do I need to get a complete defill to fly? (air pressure?) Well I already feel better by posting this, if anyone has some advice or has gone through a similar situation I would appreciate feedback. Thxs everyone! :frown:

I'm Gurgling...
LOL :cursing: I gurgle too! My husband heard it for the first time yesterday. We were eating dinner, and my husband asked me to mute the TV, and then said "do you hear that?" I started laughing and said "yeah its just me!" he thought it was quit funny! I have not hit my sweet spot yet either. I'm sitting at 5 cc's. Hopefully the next one will do the trick!

HELP ME! Pre-op diet and migraine!!
I had the same problem. It was awful, finally I figured it had to be the diet so I ate 1 egg, and 1 slice of whole wheat bread. Almost instantly my headache went away! I just needed that little bit of "real food" and then I was fine for the rest of my pre-op diet. I still lost 14 lbs. on the pre-op diet, and my surgeon was more than happy with that. Hope that helps!

chicken~
Me too! Chicken is difficult! I either have to cook it in the crock pot, use some kind of sauce, and take really, really small bites.

For those wondering about flying...
I'm going to Scotland in April, and I plan on getting unfilled before I go. I have heard too many horror stories, and I don't want to be miserable for my trip! lol

One day out and feeling horrible
hey "doodleallday" I'm glad to see you on here. You got your surgery, ya!! Congrat's! Just a helpful word of caution, you should'nt be eating potatoes yet. you should be on liguids only. did your doc say it was ok? please be careful, as you might think your food is going down ok, but you are healing, and you could cause some serious damage by eating. you might nit heal properly causeing a slip later on. take care,

I'm having my first fill next week, and I was told liquids for a few days after.

6 days post op and hardly able to eat...help!
I think some people on this thread have way too much time on their hands!

Did I stretch my band?!
Should'nt be drinking the soda! So I was told anyway. I find that if I drink something hot tea/coffee, before my morning meal, then I don't get stuck, and if I don't, then I can barley eat in the morning. Not sure why.

6 weeks out and threw up
It sounds like maybe you got stuck. Have you gotten stuck before? when I'm 5 weeks out and have gotten stuck twice which resulted in throwing up. chicken will do it too! Not sure why you would still feel ill, and why your arms would hurt. hope you feel better.

6 days post op and hardly able to eat...help!
The reason we are not supposed to cheat and eat stuff like taco bell mexi melts ,is not because we can't physically eat it, but because our stomach's have to work hard at digesting the food. it can cause the stitches holding the band in place not to heal properly and cause a slippage later on.

Not sure what to do now???? Help please.
I completely agree, maybe mushies, but hold off on the soft foods just yet. try some mashed potatoes, tuna, chili in a blender, scrambled eggs, baked beans, even christmas dinner....in the blender that is. Good Luck!

Got suck and threw up!
OMG...that was horrible! I had just started eating my dinner tonight (curry beef stew), and bamm! I was stuck, real bad! I ran to the washroom, and then the slimming :drool:began, then I threw up! I couldn't believe it, I have been getting stuck all along, but I never threw up before. Now I'm wondering about my first fill. I am going into my 4th week, and not feeling much restriction anymore, I had great restriction untill last week, but I guess that was just from the intial swelling. I feel like I need a fill, because I could eat a horse, but will the stuck episodes get worse?

What was the first thing you ate?
My first day on mushies I ate some scrambled eggs for breakfast, soooo yummy, and for dinner I ate some instant mashed potatoes, and some baked beans, also sooo good! You will get full really quick, and make sure you take very small amounts!

Surgery Yesterday
I'm 3 weeks post-op, and I remember that pain on my left side! It hurt even more when I laid on my left side. sometimes I still get it when I lay on my left side. Good Luck!

Can anyone feel their band?
I am 3 weeks post-op. and my tummy right above my belly button is still so swollen and kinda hard. Today I was doing dishes and when my tummy pressed up against the counter it kinda hurt. Is this my band I'm feeling? anyone else feel this? it makes me think this is my band because its more noticeable after I eat.
