  1. How awesome!:tt2:
  2. I'm with FairyFacade. My not so DH expects me to recognize his birthday so I expect the same. It doesn't have to be an expensive give (although he seems to think he should have one:thumbdown:), but he had better acknowledge my birthday. I would be mad.:crying: Since he is absent minded, he needs to start leaving himself notes to remind him of special days. You should not have to tell him when your birthday is after you are married. That is just my point of view. Even if he doesn't make a big deal about his own, if he knows how you feel about yours, then he should make that effort.
  3. You have to make the ticker at a website like www.tickerfactory.com . There are others out there, but that is the one I have seen the most. After you make it there, you come back to lapbandtalk and edit your signature. You copy the code from the ticker website into the edit signature box. Then you type in any other information that you want inclduded in your signature in the edit signature box also. I hope this helps!:crying:
  4. As others have said, the pre-op diet really depends on the doctor. If you are to have a pre-op diet, they will make sure that you know what to do and when to do it. Most doctors also require a post-op liquid diet. My doctor requires both. I have a two week liquid only pre-op diet and a 4 week graduated post-op diet (1 week clear liquid, 1 week full liquid, 1 week soft food, 1 week mushie). Every doctor is different. Whatever your doctor gives you, make sure you follow his instructions. Good Luck!
  5. Thank you both for the recipes. I will try them both soon!:crying:
  6. Congrats on your date! I hope you have a quick approval.
  7. I am in Chattanooga. I don't think I could handle the faster pace of Atlanta. Congrats on your journey!
  8. Does anyone have any tasty lentil recipes? I have never had them, but I figure it is time to expand my tastes a bit. Thanks for any responses.
  9. Thanks for the ideas. They all sound really good.
  10. Edy's sugar free ice cream is really good.
  11. You can get the low carb slim fast at walmart. I have also seen the eas advantage at walmart in the pharmacy section. If you have a Sam's club, they also sell them by the case.
  12. Not everyone does a pre-op diet. It seems to vary from doctor to doctor. It is to shrink the fat from the liver so that when they move it during surgery, the equipment that they use will be able to hold it. My doctor requires one, but other people going to the same weight loss center that I attend but to different doctors, aren't doing one. I would say if you weren't told about it, you don't have one.
  13. Awww! Did you have to go and make sense?
  14. I am so glad to know that it wasn't just me. I just knew I was having internet issues! :')
  15. How hard was it to stick to liquids. My doc is requiring me to use 6 glucerna shakes a day($10 for six:cursing:) and all of the broth I want  for 2 weeks. I don't know if I will survive.:cool2:
  16. I can only assume that my surgeon owns stock in glucerna because he refuses to let me use anything else. At $10 per six pack, they had better be darn good. That's $140 just for my pre-op diet. I had better lose lot of weight.
  17. I wish you the best. I haven't started my 2 week diet, but I am sure I will feel the same way. Try to be strong, it will be worth it in the long run.
  18. My doctor has suggested I drink 6 Glucerna shakes a day for 2 weeks for my pre-op diet. They have more sugar than the low carb SlimFast and the Atkins Advantage shakes and less protein. Has anyone ever tasted these? Thanks in advance for any responses.
  19. $250 of which I ended up paying $95. The rest was covered by insurance.
  20. Congrats! I am not banded yet, so I can't tell you about that specific surgery. I have had two previous laproscopic surgeries, and they weren't really that bad. The pain (to me) was worse the first few hours after surgery but they gave me enough pain medicine that I slept through it. Of course, pain is relative to each person. From what I hear though, you really don't have a reason to be nervous.
