  4. You summed it all up perfectly. My biggest problem is the whole well there is still more on my plate so I should finish it. It's totally a mental thing. I am working everyday at the whole eating to satisfy , not over eat, and make myself sick. Your post will be very helpful to those who are struggling with this. Thanks:thumbup:

  9. 42 lbs is barely losing weight????? lol you seem like you are doing great. I know it is hard when it seems like everything is going so slowly but keep your head high. 42 lbs is amazing. Keep up the great work!:sneaky:
  10. I have also heard of people who get the band removed once at goal, or even have the sleeve. I guess it is based on your comfort level with those decisions. Although I have a long way till goal, I believe that I need the support of the band to continue to be successful.I am sure there are those out there who can do it no problem but at this point, I don't think I could do it. I guess I will see when I get to that point.
  11. Did your surgeon give you food guidelines in the sense of portioning? Are you sipping water all day long like you are supposed to. I would say if you are following the proper way your surgeon would like you to then do not worry to much. I know there are many threads on here of portioning, and tips for the mushie stages, search around, I am sure that will give you some ideas. Good luck!
  12. Jennalee, I am so sorry you are having this problem. I know things seem really bad now, but try to stay optimistic. I wish there was something else I can say, but please let us know when you find out what is going on. Sending you healthy thoughts and vibes.
  13. Also here is a thread that is of bandsters from pioneer valley surgical. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f42/pvsa-anyone-57964/
  14. Yes they are usually once a month at the clarion but there has been a few changes and they are doing pre op and post op meetings together. I think this months is the 20th but not 100%. Don't worry also we are here to support each other at any age!!!lol If you have any questions let me know if I can help you.
  15. Welcome to LBT Albert, and congrats on such a successful happier and healthier you.
  16. I asked this same question and the answer I got was because bread, pastas, and rices absorb, and do not go through the band easily, causing a block up. I unfortunately can not eat all three, they just don't work, but hey losing weight tastes better then any type of food I cannot eat.
  17. Hi, welcome to LBT. I was banded by Dr. Haag on 11/14, he is awesome. They usually tell you the process takes about 6 months, but because you have already started the process then perhaps your wait will be shorter. I have also experienced a pb a couple of times but it is not the end of the world, just extremely uncomfortable. The lab band was the best thing I ever did for myself. As far as complications such as slippage, my thought is there are far more complications for me staying overweight. With anything you do there is a risk, but to me the benefits out weighed the risks. When you go to the information session make sure you ask questions about the risks, and or how many slippages and flipped ports pvsa has had. All in all I would not worry to much, Fiallo is a great doc as well. Keep us updated on your journey, and maybe we will see you at the support group meetings. Good luck.:sneaky:
  18. Don't worry everything seems rough right now but believe me you will not regret it. Take it day by day and whenyou get frustrated think of where you will be in a few months from now. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.
  19. Congrats on the start of a happier and healthier you. I am glad to see another newbie in their twenties, gain control of their lives. Good luck.
  20. You sound like you are doing great. Starting our it is very difficult to figure out what works for you and what doesnt. As long as you are trying to get your protein in and doing it in a healthy manner then don't worry too much.
  21. The main reasons why I did the lapband was because it is adjustable, the is no bypassing my insides, and the weight loss at a 3 year length is the same as a bypass patient. I have to say having the lap band was the best decision I ever made.
  22. Did you go to user cp, edit signature, then paste?
  23. So I figured I would do something nice today with my cousins who I babysit often. I asked them what they wanted to do, they all wanted to see Hannah Montana the movie. I usually dread the movies because the seats are too tight and dig into my sides. I immediatly was like c'mon lets go bowling or something. Eventually I caved in and off we went to the movies. I walked in and thought to myself well here goes two hours of discomfort. I walked over to the seat and sat down and I actually comfortably fit. The sides did not dig in , nor did I feel uncomfortable at all. I was so excited because I used to love the movies. That feeling was way better then the popcorn I could not eat.lol
  24. go to Tickerfactory.com and build the ticker of your choice. Then copy the code that is there. Then you go to lapbandtalk.com and got to user cp. Then edit signature and paste the code in. Hope that helped.
