  1. Hi I know what you mean about the shakes lol hopefully we will all be okay. Statistically only 1/200 to 1/500 die in the united states nationally so we got that low % death rate going for us! If we don’t do it then the comorbities get us five to ten years out ?. Just letting you know others are worried and thinking about it too! Hope you post an update after your surgery ?
  2. They have little 2 oz disposable cups you can use at target. Glad you made it through!
  3. Did you meal prep or are you just winging it
  4. Gallbladder can gangrene which can - >death. I would go with doctors opinions not strangers on the internet. ??? Also if you dont trust your doctors opinion enough you should get a second opinion From another doctor. That might help you to make the best decision for your anatomy with your private health history that only the doctors know and not us here on the forum
  5. Yes, health concerns are a very good reason for her as she has statistically better health outcomes being between 19-24.99. I have several degrees and pretty much argue from a position called fact. This posters feelings are valid and don’t shame her for going for it!
  6. We’re all (or were) fatties so there’s no bluffing here, but typical weight gain w steroid is nill. I happen to be an educated fatty with a masters degree. You chose the calories you put in your face, same as the lady who had a death. It is a food problem if you are putting too much food in your mouth. All of us did. Denial is rampant on internet.. i am the third person to agree with the posters above saying you have a food problem. Hope it helps for your reality check to help you be more healthy otherwise i wouldnt have commented. Hope you have lots of success denial can get in the way of that ?
  7. Hey dont know what this is about but take care and remember the world is full of opinionated people and as adults you cant go run n hide from everyone. You might find some buds here if you stay but maybe not either way dont be so sensitive and remember all these people have their own lives with their own responsibilities and do not owe a response to strangers on the web. If you dont like internet support try going to a support group in your town atleast. I do both ??
  8. Even the best surgeon and best behaved patient can have a complication. Hang in there your feelings are valid dont forget why you started
  9. Hi!! We’re thinking of you hope you give us an update when on the other side ?
  10. Each persons experience is through their perspective her feelings feel very valid to her and im sure there are others on her that aspire for more than “be lucky with what ya got already”.
  11. Hi Jen sorry to hear you are feeling down but today is a new day! Yes covid is definitely complicating the process but there are some advatages like telehealth appointments ? telehealth support group etc. focus on the positive in that youve gotten some things out of the way and have additional days to lose that few pounds ?
  12. Very interesting thank you for sharing!
  13. But bmi 19-24.99 has best health outlook so original poster should be allowed to reach for it ?
  14. I was just at a preoperative appointment and they dont allow the use of patches. The reason i was told was that The patches arent dense enough to hold the nutrients that the patchmakers claim ?
  15. Maybe when you post something like this you should include a typical days food for people to see. They might have tips for you especially the veterens! I recommend scheduling with dietician as well
  16. Yeah gastric bypass has its own set of risks though so keep your ?? crossed
  17. I actually think its good that the poster shared because everyone should be aware there are risks plus poster should be able to have support too! Just my thoughts ?
  18. Look it sounds really awful so i hope you get to feeling better but everybody has to do their own due diligence prior to surgery choice and gerd is more common in sleeve than rny in all the data. You got the sleeve having known the risk for that particular one. I really hope you feel better!
  19. Hippa is staff not family ? though maybe she will buy it
  20. People have denial to varying degrees here. Being fat is caused by what you choose to put in you mouth on a daily basis, its around 90% diet. We all have to take some self responsibility for our fatness. That said the font type is some minor detail the important part is that you really take it to heart. When designing the program bulleting items or bolding them helps many patients to know what is important. Older low vision people are also reading the same paperwork. Paperwork is not a chatroom where “one can yell” if you feel like the staff are yelling at you on other hand in person then find another program. Some have nicer staff! this is a major surgery. The surgeons probably try to keep their program as standard as possible incase of complication they will know the context (how the client was to be eating etc) if its all standard. Again if you don't like one surgeons rules there are many to choose from so that you can get one who has more similar ideas to how you want to live and behave after surgery
  21. I would get a second opinion something doesn’t seem right if they already operated to fix it once it may be beyond their skill level thats my 2c
  22. Call your bariatric nurse and ask to be safe there is probably a number in those papers you got
  23. My post op is bariatric advantage shakes 60-80 g protein but eventually progresses through purees etc
