Weight gain.....
Years ago, I had the unfortunate experience of spending some time at Children's Hospital. My husband and I would eat in the cafeteria there, and I would joke that you could tell who worked there and who was the family member of a patient based on the food on their plates. All the workers were eating salads and sandwiches, while all of the family members were eating cheeseburgers, pizza, nachos, etc. Call it comfort food, call it stress eating, it's all the same. Even people without weight issues tend to turn to food when emotions run high. I also agree about snacking out of boredom, especially with my own kids! My guess is one of them is in the pantry looking for snacks right now! LOL!

Surgery for non-weight reasons?
I'm sorry if I'm misreading your post. Are you saying that you do or do not want to lose weight?

PCP Referral?
By the time I talked to my PCP about it, I had already seen the surgeon, and at that point it was just to get my PCP to sign off on the form that I needed WLS. I pre-filled out the form for her! LOL!! It was quick and easy. I can't imagine a PCP not agreeing to it for anyone who is morbidly obese. I'm sure you will be fine!! Good luck!!

Body Lift Surgeon Recommendations?
I'm having surgery in Miami, and the doctor does the look that I want. However, I look at the Florida surgeons (including my own), like a Ford assembly line specializing in Mommy Makeovers. Boobs (check), Tummy Tuck (check), BBL (check), etc. They get great results b/c they do the same surgery over and over and over again. I have zero hesitation going to Miami as a woman. However, as a man, I would say the surgeons you have mentioned are the ones you want to go to. They all specialize in massive weight loss, and operate on both men and women. Just my 2 cents!!! Good luck!!!

Suggestions on multi vitamins
I have a prescription for Nascobal, and it comes with free vitamins (BariActiv), in chewable or capsule form. I tried the chewables and could get them down, but didn't like them, so I just get the capsules now.

Your Dr.'s goal weight/BMI for you?
My surgeon didn't give me a goal weight, but the nutritionist asked me what my goal weight was and when I said 130, she looked at my as though I had said 85lbs! LOL!! She said that I should aim to lose 70lbs in 18 months. I'm already past that in 7 months (and I think my results are pretty average). Personally, I think that the surgeons want to set our goals low so they can have more "successes." Just my opinion though!!

Gained almost all weight back
I'm so sorry!! I'm sure there are some Vets that will have much more insight and advice than I do, but the first thing I would do is eliminate soda immediately. Soda is crack to me, and is also a gateway drug that leads to more and more unhealthy eating. I was addicted to soda for many years, and used soda to wash down many sugary treats and well as fast food. If you don't like plain water, try crystal light or gatorade zero. I've promised myself that no matter what happens in my life, I will never have soda again. Much like an alcoholic or drug addict can't have "just a little" I know that I can never have soda again, nor do I want to. Lots of HUGS!!!

How do you eat going out?
Get an appetizer, share an entree, and/or take home leftovers. If it's just me and my husband, we share. If it's with a group (and people don't know about my WLS), I get my own entree, eat some of the protein, and I'm good to go. I still enjoy the food, just a small portion. It's a nice feeling not to over stuff myself with huge restaurant portions anymore!

Flavorless food
I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, but lost of taste is one of the symptoms of COVID19. Have you been exposed? I find post-surgery my taste buds have changed, but in that they are more sensitive. Things I used to love now taste way too sweet, etc. Again, don't mean to upset you, but just wanted to make sure it's not COVID19.
