Support Group Meeting
I went to the meeting and it was wonderful. Sorry if I am repeating myself but I have never meet anyone who's been banded!! It was just great meeting people who have had it done and are on the road to success. What a wonderful group! I can't wait for the next one which will be Oct. 9th at 6 p.m. The plan is to have these meetings the second Thursday of the month. There was also a meeting for gastric by-pass participants. Two seperate meetings at the same time. Mark your calendar!!

My Protein Shake Tried to Kill Me!
I'm glad everything turned out OK. I think everyone has an ER story! Maybe we should start a thread about them and put it in a book. Or make it into a TV sitcom!!

Support Group Meeting
Just an F.Y.I. if you're interested in going to a support group. St. Peter's University Hosp. in New Brunswick is having one on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. I believe they are also have an introduction to the lap band at 7 p.m. that same night.

Who are you telling?
I'm telling anyone who will listen (well, anyone I know). I'm excited about it and would like to be a walking poster for the proceedure. I've said this before, it seems everone I know knows someone who has had this done. I've never met anyone. I would love to talk to someone face-to-face about this. That's why I'm sort of advertising that I'm having it done. Once I've had the banding and I'm on solid ground if someone has questions or concerns maybe I can help or at least direct them to this board.

MyTurn
OK, I got the date, October 14. I'm so happy and nervous I feel numb. It's as if I was tossed into a tornado. What do I do next, what do I need, am I really ready, do I have the commitment necessary for this? Well, it's MyTurn to find out. I'm praying that this is not just my want but God's will. I hope I only have good things to report in the future and if things get tough you know I'll be here banging on the door asking for strength and answers!

Irratable Bowel/Crohn's Disease
I had posted a question a while ago about being banded if you have an ulcer. Someone replied that you could be banded with an ulcer and that she had Crohn's Disease and was banded. I can't find that post. I'd really like to know what type of meds you're on. My Dr. has me on Pentasa, 4 x per day, 2 pills at a time. They are the size of my thumb! How am I suppose to get these capsules down with a band on? The phamacist said there is really no other med that works as well as this one, it can't be crushed, and it does not come in liquid form. What do you take? Thanks for your help.

Banded 8-21-2008
Congrats !! Keep up the good work and keep us posted. These successes and efforts are what inspires me to start to eat the banded way even though I'm not banded. I"m sort of trainng myself for the big day!

How many meals a day..
Just wondering how many meals a day do you eat? Please state if you are banded or not. Did your doctor suggest this plan for you or do you feel it just works out the best the way your doing it? Do you eat breakast then a mid-morning snack, lunch then an afternoon snack, dinner then a bedtime snack or stop eating right after dinner? What time do you stop eating? What time do you stop drinking?

Am I the first Allstar to post progress pics?

Am I the first Allstar to post progress pics?
You look wonderful!!! Keep up the good work and please keep posting pictures. That's the inspirational stuff that helps all of us!! When I get my date I'm going to take my before picture (with a bag over my head) so I can also see my progress. However, since I can't seem to master this stupid ticker tape thing I don't know if I'll be smart enought to post pictures!!

Labor Day Weight Loss Challenge - Let's Lose Some Weight
Sorry about the delay. Weigh-in-Wednesday scale says 243! Down 7lbs!!

I will be gone for a while.
Wow!! What a testimony to the band. After all that you're still going back to it. Good for you. I'm sorry you had to go through so much. Thank you for sharing your story, it's nice to hear from people with a great focus on the prize.

"(Only Fools Rush In) Can't Help Falling in Love With You" - Elvis How do I update?

TO MUCH of a good thing?
This happens when you start to loose weight. I lost about 20 - 25 lbs a few years ago and one day thought I was taking a heart attack. Had all the signs. Went right to the ER, had the scan, and was told it was gall bladder! Had surgery within 2 days of the attack.

In need of major help
Would a gift for yourself be helpful? The holidays will be here sooner than you think and maybe something nice to wear to a house party or to church might be a motivating idea.

I'm in Somerset. Anyone want to meet for coffee?

NJ Doctors
Momx5: I'm going to use Dr. Bertha!! Congrats on your band and hope it's smooth sailing from now on. I'm hoping to be banded in Sept. Don't have a date yet.

I wish I wouldn't Have!
Well, I haven't been banded yet so I might not be the right person to respond to this but I do hope you don't jump into a deciison you'll regret. You sound as if you need someone to talk to, someone who can help you go through your issues step-by-step. Do you have a family doctor who can suggest someone to help you? Maybe your insurance has referals for councilors in your area. PLEASE be careful about making quick decisions and be very good to yourself. You DO DESERVE to be happy. Post on this board and have a laugh or two, learn something about yourself, and just keep trying to move foreward. GOD bless.
