I had posted a question a while ago about being banded if you have an ulcer. Someone replied that you could be banded with an ulcer and that she had Crohn's Disease and was banded. I can't find that post. I'd really like to know what type of meds you're on. My Dr. has me on Pentasa, 4 x per day, 2 pills at a time. They are the size of my thumb! How am I suppose to get these capsules down with a band on? The phamacist said there is really no other med that works as well as this one, it can't be crushed, and it does not come in liquid form. What do you take? Thanks for your help.

I thought the band was contraindicated when you had Crohn's! (not a doc but I read it in 2 books on banding by docs...or I guess they really were)

but sleeve gastrectomy is ok for people with crohns. You might want to ask your surgeon and your prescribing doc about your meds, if you're scheduled for the band.

Hi I have Cronhs I'm the first to get a band with Dr. Vierra.. He said they are starting to get a band.. I'm also on Pentasa the same dosage and I just have to take time getting them down. I have not had a fill yet my doc starts you on the operating with you first fill. I will get another maybe next month. so far no problem.
