  1. My wls friends either order apps or meals to take home. Sometimes they order from the kids menu if leftovers aren't going to be great.
  2. I miss being able in indulge in my wine and whiskey this season. I've been giving bottles away from my bar, surgery is next month. I also stopped buying bread, I love 12 grain bread for any type of toast with butter...oh my goodness, how I miss it already. Pasta dishes from home as well...and I'm going to miss cashews...lol
  3. What is HPMR? I'm so excited for you? Are you isolating yourself to stay focused or are you still able to stay socially active and on task?
  4. I'm one of those women, I like sex for myself and then him.
  5. Welcome aboard Clasa of 2020, we are about to graduate from 2019 and into a new lifestyle of health, wealth and whatever we can imagine. I'm nervous, excited and ready.
  6. Great post and responses from everyone. AJ keeps telling us to research and get our minds right, I'm there and doing some homework. I will message you AJ, because I think I will need a sponsor lol.
  7. Perhaps he's in shock that she actually did it and is trying to shame or guilt his spouse. Which is really unfortunate and sad. Obviously physical attraction is a major factor in a relationship, but is it the only attraction when someone tells you this, even in a marriage? This just gives me cause for further caution moving forward in my journey, because change is inevitable in some of our various relationships. Everyone isn't going to be able to cope or find the same attraction or control what we attract.
  8. I'm sorry that it seems your spouse wasn't being genuine in his support of your decision to take your health in a different direction. Is your new lease on life a deal breaker in regards to him supporting you further in the future? Is he going to sabotage your efforts? Does this bring up some underlying issues or insecurities that he may have? Does he think the only benefit of this is vanity? My apologies that you are feeling the way that you are feeling and that this journey may not include him in the capacity that you originally discussed.
  9. Congratulations on your date...
  10. Congratulations and what a beautiful gift for the holidays. Thank you for the update, I admire those who are able to prepare a lengthy comprehensive update on the surgery, personal awareness and etc. Darn Rockstars!!!!
  11. I just think it's the fear of the unknown, especially for this procedure. Also, taking into consideration this many people's first surgery, this can be overwhelming.
  12. Yeah, I plan on hibernating and working through my new program in private and with my uber tiny support team those first couple of weeks. I'm getting my surplus together as well and I'm ready. Nervous, scared, tired of this obesity roller coaster that has plagued my life. My anxiety is a little high, but I'm just nervous about the new life. Best of luck to you
  13. Please let us know how it goes, I'm also Kaiser.
  14. Welcome and how exciting. Are you required to do a preop diet? Nervous? Support system?
  15. First off congratulations and welcome to Bariatric Pal. This site has been a source of support and knowledge for many of us on the same journey. There's a January 2020 Surgery thread for those of us who are going to have the procedure next month. My surgery date is 01/31/20, I'm so darn nervous and happy to have this site of wise people.
  16. I've been researching collagen to add to my protein shakes and etc.
  17. I pray dumping doesn't happen to me. This seems terrible, I've seen a few wls employees in my office experience this at work. Yet, they continue to repeat the behavior with the same food. One of them never dumped until she had the revision to rouxny. The other lady has the sleeve and she's not going to let something like dumping get in the way of her love of sugar. I personally hate being nauseous and miserable, I can deal with pain better than nausea and vomiting.
  18. @Losingit2018 you weren't advised to take supplements for hair loss? Gosh, I don't want to lose too much if any ar all.
  19. I got free samples from the Obesity Help Conference in October. The taste was very terrible to me.
  20. I like sushi, good question. Is it even okay to eat raw fish anymore? Damn!!!
  21. Lol, how long as was your wls?
  22. I just want to thank everyone for sharing their stories and advice. I took a class (Options) via Kaiser and I didn't get half of the information that you guys are sharing. The class is very textbook and clinical almost. Experience is the best teacher.
  23. I guess this is a good time to embrace being single, lol. There's no one else to take into consideration, in regards to how the surgery may impact them and their needs. This is already a very private matter and enough for me to navigate without another's expectations and needs. I wish those who are married and part of a couple understanding, communication, support and patience from your significant other.
  24. Don't be discouraged by the early experience you are having. I'm praying for you to get better and pain free. Have you tried the sugar free Popsicles to aid in hydration yet? Try to meditate on healing & taking it moment by moment so you won't feel overwhelmed or frustrated. That isn't conducive to healing, I hope that you are complication free. Side note, I took Saxenda for awhile, it made me very nauseous and miserable. I so wanted to love it and be a success story, not so much for me.
