Weight gain during period
I loathe that kind of gain, because most of my bariatric Dr. an appointments are around my cycle for whatever reason.

Where did my menopause symptoms go?
Is this something to look forward to, oh yes.... I get tired of being extra hot when it's damn cold outside. I love the cooler weather. Will I be cold all of the time after surgery like a lot of women?

Over Night Stay
Good list, can be modified for a woman. No boxers / boy shorts instead for comfort, sports bra, I still want that zip up hoodie, t-shirt, sunglasses, lip balm, hair in a high bun, backpack or cute gym bagfor light packing, no jogging shorts, but everything else you said, once I figure out the binder. I need my own pillowcase at least on 1 pillow.

Over Night Stay
Binder? Forgive my Ignorance.

Alone After Hospital
I'm planning on going it alone at hone. 2 of my neighbors know, one works at the hospital where I'm having my surgery. The first night at home my cousin will be there and I pray to be well, so I can send her home the next day. I like my space and alone time. I'm hoping sleep will be my companion. Everything will be prepared in advance, food prep., clean home, prescriptions filled, supplies stocked. I call in to get my January date tomorrow morning.

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
I was talking to a friend yesterday who brought up other people's surgeries and feels as if they have to tell if they have any kind of surgical procedure. I don't agree with her logic, nor do I understand how that is anyone's business. She gets so livid about people not sharing or telling if medical surgeries were done, it is not her business. She's very judgmental and not informed about her viewpoints. I don't know when other people's surgeries became the personal business of friends, but it isn't and privacy is a form of respect unless invited in.

Anybody NOT need an endoscopy before WLS?
Same here, I didn't have one. I'm also Kaiser. I don't have sleep apnea or GERD either. Just labs and the other prerequisites, I have met the surgeon (September) get my surgery date in November as I wanted to have my surgery in January.

Free vitamins from Nutrition Direct
Does Kaiser offer this vitamin opportunity? Research time!!!! Thank you for sharing.

Scared
I pray that all went well for each of you or will go well. It would be a little unusual not to be scared, this is uncharted territory. God is in control.

Blood pressure 71/49
I've fainted from my BO dropping too low and had to get emergency medical treatment, I had to get IV treatments for dehydration and potassium. Low BP is just as dangerous as high BP, take care. Call the paramedics the next time, you are too valuable to risk.

Surgery Day!!

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
My family is certified crazy.

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
I do agree with you and the unhealthy part, it just depends on the audience. Some people are unrelenting and they don't know how to accept those answers, especially during the holidays (also depending on your family culture). My aunts would be offended, especially during the holidays when all of the generational recipies have made a debut, lol. For me that soon after surgery, I'd rather avoid conflicts and provide an answer that isn't stressful and I can focus on self/healing. The next Thanksgiving the lifestyle changes answer is wonderful because you can see me and my appearance supports my answer. You have to do what works for you, right?

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
Chub, I will be using your idea after my surgery in other settings. I can only have the stomach virus so many times, lol.

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
Not to be deceptive or to create a web of lies, but this is your choice to share or not. Especially on such a large family platform as Thanksgiving, oh the stress. Besides that would steal the show in my family, they'd forget all of their other stories. Lol!!!

Say you are recovering from a stomach virus.

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
As I get closer, I understand the need for physical support. I had a real moment last week thinking about not wanting to overwhelm my extremely small support group. I also have to honor who I am and stay true to self, I have boundaries and respect for other's business and beliefs. I'm not seeking validation or permission, but we will need support. My advice is to share with caution and listen to your inner voice. I just shared with another person who I felt would be an asset to my cause. I know she didn't mean any harm, but her response was..."you don't need that surgery, you aren't that big." Ohhhhh, how I loathe that response for so many reasons. Now, I have to explain my health is on the line--prediabetic, high blood pressure, hormone levels are out of whack and etc. Then I get the, but you look good... so do I have to be physically displeasing to you before I can have your support???? People who don't struggle with weight and health issues due to your weight have no idea how hard it is to to walk in our skin. We each have our battles and some far worse than others, but no journey is the same. So, yeah I will be keeping this procedure to myself as this is for me. I have enough ppl who know.

Eating as a empty nester
My nest is empty and just cooking for myself has become interesting, so I can only imagine postop.

Who will you tell (or not tell) about WLS?
My journey, my business...I haven't changed my stance on the topic. We all have our own reasons why we do what we do or don't do. I'm at peace with my privacy and wish to have it respected.

Estimated to have surgery around December or January
This is our new tribe...the nerves are real, but elder members like Frustr8, Greenteal and others have been super informative and helpful in the forums.

My process begins...for gastric sleeve
Super proud of you and for you. I've completed everything, I get my date in November as I wanted to wait until January for my surgery. The Dr. was ready to go in October, sheesh. It feels good doesn't it? Congratulations
