  1. People of size, sounds crazy to me. I personally don't want to be referred to as such at any size. @Superman84 , I agree with you and all the political correctness is a phase. We can be polite, but People of size? @NYJenn, we are all people of some size that occupies space, right? No one is invisible or without consuming space no matter how small or big. No offense to those who are comfortable with that term, this is just my personal view and preference.
  2. Yes, I read your profile. We are both Virgos, lol. I have been so excited as I continue with preparing for next month. I'm so excited to finally meet our immediate peer group. I will be posting and updating often, its been keeping me focused and I'm learning more about life as a wls person in the real world and actual everyday scenarios. This site is full of great questions and answers, I don't think the Dr. can answer all of these questions because each experience is different and so is the patient's experience to this major life changing event.
  3. I'm excited for you and your going to do well, you sound mentally prepared to move forward with the journey.
  4. My first surgery twin ?. I just got an email to attend a support group from my bariatric team. I'm excited as well and nervous, I just got excited reading your post and sharing the date with someone else.
  5. Welcome to the Class of 2020 as @Greeteal calls it, lol. Our January family is growing and getting very close. Are you excited, nervous, or etc.? Do you know if you have to liquid diet, if so joe long?
  6. Congratulations, come on over to January 2020 Surgery Date thread. Im also January, on the 31st...Welcome aboard and how exciting !!!
  7. There has been food everywhere. All types of food, baked goods, cocktails and utter mayhem!!! My goodness, I abstained from a Christmas party tonight and I'll lay low. I haven't been good with my eating this month, but I'm officially going to get my butt back on track. Going to start my detox program this week and get my head in the game for surgery next month. I'm also tired of seeing food everywhere. I've had to be bluntly honest that I have to practice self-preservation and awareness. There will be other Holidays and birthdays in the years to come. I've worked hard and I can see success through all of the fog. No more indulging in food. Thank you for the post, we are not alone. Not that I want others to suffer, just knowing I'm not alone humanizes the experience.
  8. My final pre-op is on 01/17/20 and then the sleeve on 1/31/20. You will be sleeved and a Subject Matter Expert, for the remainder of us. Are you wls prepped in your home? I'm buying broth everytime I go to the store, drink / water mixes, unsweetened applesauce and etc. I'm not grocery shopping for the regular staples. Do you have vitamins and what's your vitamin plan? Are you going to use smaller tools to eat, drink and prep? I have soooooooo many questions about what everyone is doing to prepare themselves. Sorry for the 200 questions.
  9. When I shared with the OB team about my journey to wls and etc., they looked totally confused. I'm finding out that lots of doctors have an inadequate understanding of Bariatric medicine. All doctors should have to go to training and learn how Bariatric medicine affects their patient's health and preexisting conditions.
  10. Wow, I didn't even think about PMS or anything in that regard. Mmm, my medical team didn't highlight this topic either. I have endometriosis and fibroids, hopefully this isn't going to be an issue for me. I'm not going to change my mind however, surgery is a must.
  11. Hey Chubrub, you are going to be fine as well. I'm going to pray for your successful surgery and healing as well. I'm feeling like, I'm there with you guys in spirit. When you are feeling better, please let us know. Congratulations to you and CapyCap...
  12. Congratulations, praying for a successful surgery and recovery for you, when you are feeling better check in with us.
  13. This is such a collaborative support system and good energy being generated. Group hug, ?.
  14. I miss being able in indulge in my wine and whiskey this season. I've been giving bottles away from my bar, surgery is next month. I also stopped buying bread, I love 12 grain bread for any type of toast with butter...oh my goodness, how I miss it already. Pasta dishes from home as well...and I'm going to miss cashews...lol
  15. Get your rest, this your time to recover, heal, mentally ,emotionally, physically and spiritually come into a new existence. Don't pressure yourself to do anything that isn't in line with your healing, hydrating and moving the gas along out of your body, ?. When we sleep, our bodies are healing. I know you are going to be fine and encouraging so many others. You've got an early Christmas present, a healthy new beginning.
  16. How are you feeling on the pre-op diet? Congratulations on your accomplishments, surgery is soon.
  17. You've had quite a journey to wls. You are almost to the finish line and on your way to the next chapter in your life.
  18. This is a good place to lay it out on the table. Have you prepared your cabinets, closets, bought vitamins and etc. ? I have been keeping busy and starting to prepare for the surgery to help combat my anxiety.
  19. Welcome aboard January family, I'm wishing this were happening sooner as well. I'm soooo nervous, but excited to hear all of your updates on each step.
  20. Awesome idea, why didn't I think of making my own flavored protein waters??? I just bought about 150 packets of water flavoring yesterday. Preparing for surgery next month and etc. What other tweaks or ideas have you employed during your journey/transformation? Hopefully you will share and thanking you in advance.
  21. Hey there, what's going on with your nerves? You absolutely must believe that you are going to make it through this and on to the otherside of success. You are a Jedi warrior and THE FORCE IS WITH YOU... Let's check in and assess, you are nervous and that's normal. Fear of the unknown is a beast, it is also paralyzing if you don't check it. You are supported here and remember you want this , so you can extend your time with your young family. ?
  22. Happy early birthday to you ?. Congratulations on your accomplishments and be patient with the journey, you sound mentally amazing and ready for the future.
  23. I'm going to miss 12 grain toast, tacos, pasta or any type of bread for awhile. Also Honey Jack, Jameson and red wine with chocolate truffles.
  24. May you heal quickly and peacefully
