  1. I really like hot and sour soup, it is my go to soup when I want soup. In the past year I have really acquired a taste for it.
  2. Well, my surgeon said my liquid diet is only 1 day. I'm sure I had him repeat himself 3 times after I repeated him 5 times, lol. Seriously only 1 day and I've been mentally preparing for a long haul, but think I'll make it 3 days. I will of course discuss this with him prior. I just want to be sure of a properly shrunk liver and no food contents are in my intestines.
  3. Heart shaped, oh damn!!! I was 3
  4. I was just having this conversation with my friend on Saturday night. A serious case of "what if's" , but what if I do nothing? I'm prediabetic, I have fluctuating blood pressure, asthma, morbid obesity and a few other serious symptoms. I need help and I also feel you on not wanting to melt away or look like my skin is melting off. Sooo, I understand the concerns you are having, semi-twin worey warts!!!
  5. I had the urine test as well on August 19th and I passed, stopped smoking on Father's day of this year.
  6. I needed you at my visit to speak on my behalf, you seemed to go over relevant information.
  7. You are a Ray of Sunshine, I'm better than okay!!! I get my acutal date for surgery in January on Tuesday. I didn't really ask any questions, I think I was in shock, lol. I told the surgeon I'd email him my questions once I came back to reality...
  8. I was told the strips have been discontinued.
  9. I'm a Kaiser patient also, September 17th makes a year since I started this process. My GP referred me to the Bariatric program and I was offended, embarrassed, sad, relieved (I was finally going to get real answers and help), I was tired of fighting obesity without having the proper education to understand why I'm obese, I felt judged, I judged myself, I cried and then I got into action. Obesity is a complex disease, everyone doesn't have an issue of getting up from the table or overeating and some of us do. We all have our own struggles and pathes that have brought us here, the person inside of you has brought you here to this victory, do you chose to be victorious? Having the surgery is like the Matrix, red or blue pill? Be Neo, be the one who kicks obesity in the a**!!!! FEAR = Face Everything And Rise or Fear Everything And Run... I believe you've got this and you have support on this site, it helps me... I'm tired of being unhealthy due to something that now has a solution.
  10. Waiting for the surgeon to walk in the room right now and I'm nervous
  11. I'm dealing with a friend or 3 or 8 who I'm not going to tell, just because I refuse to deal with negative energy and ppl. who refuse to be or get educated on the benefits of this life changing and enhancing opportunity.
  12. Best of luck...and you are making wise choices for your success. That pesky rumor mill, let them talk while they eat cake. Well bask in the success of our new bodies and enjoy tiny pieces of cake occasionally.
  13. I agree!!! My surgery = my business.
  14. This is my absolute favorite response and it's not short of the truth. Other ppl. are very unreliable and not invested in your success. Give yourself a standing ovation for a performance out of this world. Thank you for the congratulations and well wishes.
  15. The mind has to be in sync with the body. This is a serious commitment and I for one just don't want to see all of this work go to waste.
  16. This site has been my educator, my journal, my best friend, my addiction at times, my guide, my whatever I needed in that moment. A lot of people on here say they watch My 600 Pound Life, I come to bariatricpal.com and get lost reading...
  17. Thank you... I'm very private so my supporters are very limited and were hand picked. I did meet some amazing people in the Options classes and have maintained contact, which is a source of support. I love your post and comments by the way, always encouraging.
  18. I had 4 iron transfusions in July, it brought my levels up from a 7 to 11. I actually have more energy than before.
  19. I got that magic phone call today, I'm approved for surgery and will meet the surgeon this Friday. I just finished the options classes 2 weeks ago and my last requirement on Monday. I'm very proud of myself for this progress, but there's more to do and as those of you who are on this journey know, we all need somebody. You are the star of your "life", but who is your supporting cast for this part of the journey and is it who you thought it would be? My support group is strong at times and other days I realize just how much of this is all me. I'm used to it being only me, but this journey requires vulnerability and transparency (at least for me), I need my supporting cast more than I thought... Who are your supporters???
  20. I have an appointment with Dr. Um this Friday.... I think and pray that we will be a good match.
  21. I completed my classes tonight, we were given certificates as well. I'm very pleased that I committed and didn't miss a class, I only have 2 things to do before approval. The urine test for nicotine and cannabinoids and the gynecologist follow up on the 30th of this month. I'm going to project for a mid January surgery date. Excited and very nervous....
  22. Absolutely, I think I have to let go of the have nots and get back on my discipline routine. I'm normally so strong and focused.
  23. Hi! Was your friend’s revision from a band to RNY? If so, did your friend have her revision in one or two surgeries? I have Kaiser and I hope it’s done in one surgery She had her sleeve a year and a half ago, but the acid reflux was doing terrible things to her. She had her revision last week on the 24th and has had a few complications, now she has a picque line and will have a nurse come to her house daily. Her process has actually scared me. The Dr isn't sure if she has some sort of blockage and may need another surgery. Damn
  24. Congratulations!! Wow definitely have a lot going on... keep up the good work!! Thank you, alot has been going on in this process. I have to remind myself of this, so I can be kind to myself as well.
