It's Turkish in origin, though it has some similar counterarts in Greek (Gyros) and Arabic (shawarma) cultural foods. Literally it's "rotating meat". It's a large mutton roast that rotates on a vertical spit. It is sliced very thin as it cooks into a pita bread, the covered with the vegatble toppings of your choice. The meat is very very tender and juicy and has a ton of flavor. Once you add chilli and Garlic sauce, it's... the UK's beer food of choice (second only to Curry). It is relatively healthy (you don't really eat the pita bread, you use it as a plate) so it's lean roasted mutton, veggies etc. Droool.

I'd rather have the doner kebab

I know that conversation. 1 large doner kebab, chilli and garlic sauce, lettuce, onions, tomato. Sit back and wait for the fireworks.

I had to admit, Paul's food choice did sound like it would accomplish the same as Colon Blow .

Many happy bowel movements to you. May your colon blow like old faithful.
  6. Tired Old Man, I must congratulate you on having the most appropriate name of all the users I have ever encountered on LBT. You really do sound like.... a tired old man (this post is all in good jest, just incase you think I am being mean).

    Penguins and cheese.
  8. How poetic And as for everything else. I file it under SEP: Somebody Elses Problem (Thanks Douglas Adams). This is Alex and the Mod's problem. Maybe if we were a public trading company and we were share holders we could demand answers. If it was a democracy we could demand answers. It isn't either of those things. It's Alex's world and he calls the shots.
  9. Well possibly not, however I originally was going to state "I'll try anything once" but thats a lie. I won't try some things, even once. I could give a list but... but I don't have that much energy or inclination. Besides, it's not about the food, its about the company. In my case - bad company. Heh, now I want to put Bad Company on. I think I will.
  10. Well duh. Unless you've found the secret to eternal life, it's kind of a given. Maybe thats the problem. Lack of confidence. Everyone else dies, I'm bound to. AHA maybe if I can convince myself that I'm different (and boy am I different), I won't die

Used to know a guy that ended up crushing one of his testicles in a bicycle accident. I'm sure he could relate.
  12. The real comedy of course being, that no doubt the moderators know EXACTLY who it is / was anyway. It's only the users who don't. Using a secondary account to question the moderators ethics is kind of like changing your name to Steve, when you have MY NAME IS BOB tattoed on your forehead.
  13. Welcome, hope everything goes well with that insurance.
  14. I live near Yellowstone. That is now considered one of the world's largest volcanos and it is potentially going to become active. If it errupts with full force, the entire world may die. A major earthquake could destory most west coast cities. a Cat 5 tornado could wipe out entire towns. A random act of terrorism could wipe out a city. An asteroid could hit the Earth. A new ice age could happen. They are all likely. Some are more likely than others. If you can avoid them. Run away.
  15. Certainly sounds like the guy has more than a couple of issues.
  16. I can probably handle applebees (f that was already stated I missed it - heh). I've never eaten there but I'll give anything culinary a whirl once. I'm also trying to get in the habit of ignoring the menu and just ordering "on the fly". As for joining in the slim fast... I'll pass on that one Cheryl. I guzzle those things in about 3 seconds flat. I could easily get fat on em.
  17. 1. No surprise. 2. Don't forget crimes commited overseas by US Citizens are still prosecutable. Its quite possible the Thai government could provide enough evidence to still get him charged with that.
  18. I am just going to throw in one caveat. If you try and force me to go to an italian restaurant I'll whine like a whipped.... dawg. I will eat fish, big lumps of meat. I'm wary of mexican (too damn good), Italian (to damn good while being desperately bad), and chinese (too damn good with enough salt and MSG to give an instant heart attack). I'll do steak and fish places though. Without hesitation.
  19. When I do cardio on the dreadmill, my album of choice is: Sasha - Involver That CD has excellent tempo and it isn't attention grabbing. Currently in my phone (no mp3 player, I just use my phone, need to buy stereo headphones). Utada Hikaru - Deep River.
  20. Molly? meet the fish. Fish, meet Molly....
  21. This is why the microwave was invented.

    Mumbles something foul about dentists.
  23. Well, I'm a fundamentally miserable bastard with the social skills of a particularly insular statue, but I can always eat. Hell, some of these people have actually met me - I'm sure they would corroborate.

I can't wait for the next gripping installment... Will Chubby Cholestorol Charlie return from the grave to haunt people??
