Hello Idaho Folks
So... when are we all going to dinner? And... why is I can't think of any social activity other than dinner?

Question about Moderators
My personal feelings are that you can question how a board is run, but remaining respectful is critical. Much like the laws of the land, you can disagree with the law but it still applies. I am hoping for the day where people can just let all this stuff go so we can get on with the business at hand. Losing weight and helping each other in that common goal. I think the time of creating alternate user accounts, pointing fingers or trying to be inflammatory is something that should become part of our past. One of my favorite comments on life is "There is no point having regrets over the past because it can not change the future. You would not be where you are now without it.". If we want to, we can all of us get past this stuff. And Funny - Sometimes the shoes ARE in the wrong place, but usually only when the boy gets home.

Question about Moderators
A guide for 100% total security on the internet, by Dawg. Step 1. Reach behind your computer and locate the modem or ethernet cable. Step 2. Unplug the cable. Step 3. Power down the PC. Step 4. Remove the hard drive. Step 5. Open the hard drive housing and apply a heavy duty magnet to all surfaces. Step 6. Apply a hammer forcefully to what remains. Step 7. Shred all CDs, DVDs, Floppy Disks, Zip disks or any other external media. Step 8. Move to a small island in the South Pacific. Waiver. There will still be some potential risk of a hacker still getting to you, somehow, sooner or later. Probably. Keep smilin

Question about Moderators
Hey I'd forgotten about that post. I think that's an excellent post to bring back up. As for "how" a moderator or the Admin can manage that type of activity. First, I suspect that someone who quietly signs on a different username and just uses it to browse the boards etc while not using their primary account would go unnoticed. When you get a new user who asks some pretty direct questions (much like the starter of this thread), the Admin (and maybe the moderators) can check the site the user signed in from. They can then cross-reference that site with other people from the same site. So, if I started trouble, then signed on as a different user and caused problems, they could match the two accounts to the same site and - ban both (if they saw fit). I am not sure how VBulletin handles banning users, or what inbuilt plugins it has to assist the management of this, but it can all be done relatively simply even outside of the forum if you have server access.

Question about Moderators
Heh, I think I'll go for... "It is my belief that it was Alex, in the background, with a keyboard."

Question about Moderators
None of our concern It's actually not a bad thread though, I guess a few people had some questions answered about the illustrious moderator and admin team  I consider it a good thing.

Question about Moderators
If you mean - having more than one moderator account so they can snoop around without being seen.... It's somewhat irrelevant, most boards have the ability for a moderator to ppear "offline" if they so wish. This means they can attend to their duties without being disturbed.

2006 Christmas Wish List
Alright, maybe it is a bit early, but I figured there's no harm in setting an early wish! I've seen a few folks talking about what they want to be "at" by christmas. Either sizes in clothes or a certain weight. Well I figured - I will set my goal of what I WISH for Christmas and see if anyone else wants to join me in making that wish come true. Sort of a commitment thread, sort of a challenge and sort of a "support" thingy. -------------------------------------------------- Dawg's Christmas Wish: I Wish I was 204 pounds by Christmas. This will make my total loss (since joining LBT) of 103 pounds, and place me in the "normal" BMI for my height.

Question about Moderators
With regards to PM's. Whether vBulletin has the power to allow moderators to see PM's is something I don't know. What I do know is that this message board will interface with an SQL database and therefor, anyone with physical access to the database 'could' read PM's. Whether or not Alex or anyone else does is unknown, but of course - they could. A Database is a Database. Anything you put in, can be retrieved. If you don't want people to read it, don't put it in. Any data you transmit over the internet can be captured and examined if a person is determined enough. You can protect your chances of remaining secure with a secured connection, but even that could become vulnarable. So, to sum up my networking and dBase 101: Nothing is private and it's up to the individual server admin what they see, and what they do.

Frankly the testicular cancer exam is bad enough without squishing. I remember my doctor saying "Kind of disturbing to try and have a conversation when a man has ahold of your left testicle isn't it?" Why yes, yes it is.

I personally find the thread posts that are a single massive block of text that dont have any kind of punctuation or line breaks very difficult to read I personally am not sure exactly how people can comprehend exactly what the poster is trying to say and as a result it can kill a thread this combines with the confusion on where one particular sentence begins and another ends compounds the problem of over legibility and comprehension personall I think its time we really aayed attention to how we type and more importantly what we type and when so that the general masses can understand I often wonder if such posts are written out of a desire to confuse or because the individual is merely unconcerned and is just getting whatever the issue is off the chest but I think on the whole we could really do with the punctuation and line breaks to make things easier so that we can provide adequate support to all posters regardless of subject or content man this typing without punctuation is killing me once upon a time there was a squirrel names squirry and he went for an adventure in the deep dark forest of Argh Squirry was a brave squirrel and didnt fear the haunted forest which was stupid because a big ass demon from the pits of hell sprang forth and devoured his soul for all eternity thanks for playing kids game over etcetera
