  1. Challenge Starting weight: 133 Todays weight 136 up a bit. Maintaining weight 125 to 135. Fitness/exercise goal: New lifting plan is fantastic. It's embarrassing to know how weak my upper body is. ?. Less cardio has made a big difference. I got brave and ventured into the sauna and steam room friday evening. It was heaven.?
  2. I am supportive of anyone at any size at the gym. People will see your hard work and the pounds coming off. You never know who you will inspire. Most of us have been judged by negative people in places besides the gym. You know who is supportive. Keep them around you. I am the wrong person to make a negative statement in the gym or anywhere about weight. Its funny because most don't know I was obese.
  3. Fantastic that you lost your regain. I hope you find your gym comfort zone.
  4. Yep varied plans maintaining. You know me, I indulge. I have times I carb load. If your in weight loss mode don't eat what I have in my food diary. I posted it earlier, Hope it brings a smile your way. I want to see who can keep up with Henry. Everyone dance!
  5. Stalls suck balls! We get the frustration.
  6. Who needs med's when you have this video. Smile! Step away from the food and dance along with Henry.

New year new you! https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/420820-thanksgiving-christmas-and-new-years-weight-loss-challenge/?tab=comments#comment-4714932
  8. Is there a standard maintenance plan? My maintenance has changed and evolved over the years. I would hate to have anyone in weight loss mode look at my food diary and think they are going to lose weight.
  9. I had great surgery restriction in the first months. If I ate 4 0z of less dense protein sources I could get veggies in. As I progressed out from surgery, I am able to add more variety with my protein without much effort. Eating becomes more normal over time. Hang in there.
  10. I was diligent with working out my first two months. Third month, I started taking the quick weight loss for granted. My home treadmill became a place to hang my clothing. It stalled out my weight loss and set me back. This was the moment I realized this takes work. The honeymoon was over. Sold my treadmill and bought a gym membership.
  11. I'm so jealous that you are having plastics. What are you going to get done?
  12. Call your surgeon's office.
  13. I wanted to ask about your personal experiences 1+ years out from surgery. Looking back, Is there anything you wish you would have done differently?
  14. Glad your food progression is moving forward. Things get better. Hang in there.
  15. Great. Hope all is going well for you. Dang down 40.8 Fantastic.
  16. Check with your dietician. I count grams of carbs. Not net.
  17. Fabolous 50! Congratulations on your surgery date. I was 45 when I was sleeved. I turned 50 in November. Celebrate that the weight is coming off fast or slow. Think of where your weight will be on your 51st birthday.
  18. It's a big decision to have surgery. I think most of us second guessed and questioned our decision. If I could do it on my own and keep it off I would have. I have lost and regained many times. I needed something long term.
  19. Congratulations! You should make this photo your christmas card. *grin*
  20. I am not a soft touch. I am direct. Feel free to ignore my post. You said "I hate them. I justify it. wondering how bad my checkups will be ?" Your choice to take them or not. A cancer patient is doing chemotherapy treatments. I person who had a leg amputated is learning to walk with a prosthetic leg. They would gladly trade places with us for our bariatric struggles.
  21. Congrats on five years out. You will work this back down. Don't let 20 pounds turn into 30, 40 or 50. Healthier you in 2019. I was sleeved in 2014. I had a sixteen pound gain my third year and worked it back down.
  22. You can get into weight loss mode again. I needed to change my behavior of eating to calm anxiety/stress/emotions. If you need help with anxiety/panic attacks, You can get ahold of your family physician or a therapist. Getting back on track and maintaining your weight is work. I'm not always motivated. Its easy to gain a pound a month. It turns into 12 pounds in a year...24 the next year. and so on. I had a 16 pound gain in my third year and worked it back down. Maintaining for me is weighing every day. I gave myself a ten pound bounce range. When the scale goes up I get back into weight loss mode. Losing the 16 pounds: Had my hubby hide temptations in the house. Went grocery shopping. Logged my food. I found that I had to dial in calories and macros to see where my body starts losing weight again. Get activity in.Can you work in 30 min at home? If you can't weight loss will be mainly from your diet. This may not be helpful to hear - Im not sure what will get you back your old discipline/motivation. I put motivational weight loss mems on my fridge. I look here for newer people in weight loss mode that are excited. I do weight loss challenges. I have a goal dress I want to fit into for new years. I hope you find what works. You are one busy lady.
  23. This has been an interesting thread. Thanks for all of your perspectives. I guess I'm older and in a different place in life. Attitude, behavior and opinions are choices. I'd rather build people up.
  24. Check in Start of challenge 133 This morning 135 Maintaining my weight Workouts and food have been slack. My friends father passed away. Spent three days with her while she was in town. Back to things this week. two pounds up Into the holidays. I'm making cookies with my grandson. I can't keep them in the house. I know my weaknesses. Weekends seem to be my biggest challenge. Parties and potlucks. My goal is to rock my New Years dress and go into 2019 without major holiday weight gain.
