Oh hun ur going to have more doubts after surgery but when you start seeing the results you will be happy. I’m only a week post op and whined and had buyers remorse probably the first 4 days because I wanted to eat but wasn’t hungry. Emotions all over the place. But today at my post op appointment Im down 18lbs in a week. (Drastic i know but I’m super restricted) but listen getting on that scale and seeing 301 made it worth it. Just push through and remember why you started. Come on here everyday and complain don’t give up! HW- 336 SW- 319 (8/28) CW- 301 (9/5)

My anxiety was the worst luckily my family was there to keep me laughing before surgery and then they gave me some medicine to calm me and then we went back and it was over lol. Good luck and speedy recovery! Remember use that pain pump lol

Why so long on liquids?

You will be normal again just give it time. I had my surgery on 8/28 I’m still on liquids only. Going to purées in this week. The time is going fast

I think we have to give it time. This is not going to be a quick fix. Look at what you posted 14lbs in a week that’s amazing!

My decision to have RNY, was in fact because I have a lot of weight to loose and because I had Gerd pretty bad. I have a friend who had the sleeve and her Gerd got so bad after surgery including multiple ER visits and lots of testing. Fast forward months later it’s no longer an issue. I’m not sure if it went away on it’s own or with the help of medicine. It scared me because i didn’t think i personally would be able to handle that. But honestly in the end, you have to make the best decision for you hun. Whichever way you decide, you will be successful and everyone here supports you. Good luck! Keep us posted on your decision!

2 weeks of clear liquids sounds inhuman but you got this! It’s almost over and you’ll be so happy once you are out of surgery

I was told they will fall off on their own. But take a shower as normal avoiding the stomach but let the soap run down and ok for the water to hit them. Just pat dry.

Yeah it’s just annoying to get it so early and then they have me taking these blood thinner injections ???? i wasn’t prepared for this lol but I’m making it lol

I know i gained one month, but by next weight i lost what i gained plus additional. My insurance wasn’t looking at the #s in the middle. They looked at my starting weight and then what i weighed when my dr submitted as long as that ending # is lower than what you began with you will be fine. So take these next 2 months to get the weight off and hopefully they put you on a strict low calorie diet for the next 2 months. Definitely if you haven’t cut carbs, sweets and sodas cut it now. You still have a shot good luck!!

I packed so much and didn’t use any of them. I brought my own cozy socks but after surgery i didn’t care what they put on my feet lol. I was actually going through a hot and cold war in my room. Everyone was freezing and i was burning up but no fever. But the hospital has plenty of warm blankets to go around. I think my phone was on the charger once the entire time I was there. I didn’t want to write anything lol i slept for the most part or was walking by the time i got back i was tired again lol. Showering would all be up to you. They have a bench in the shower so it’s all up to how comfortable you are with a nurse or cna being in there with you. One thing i recommend is bringing your own heating pad. It took them forever to get me one. (High demand in a hospital). On i like my own chapstick brand not whatever they gave me at the hospital lol. I’m sure you won’t be thinking of makeup lol. At surgery check in they will ask for your insurance card and id. I wore exactly what i wore to the hospital (loose dress) home. I didn’t call anyone in the hospital but my cell and hospital phone was ringing off the HOOK lol. So when i was up for it i took a call. Sorry my answer is all over the place! 1 week post op appt is Wednesday so no weigh in yet. But as far as lifting I don’t think you’ll be able to pick her up for a little while ?. But then again you may bounce back sooner. Ask you surgeon before they take you back just to have a firm answer. Good luck on ur surgery! Popsicles, jello and ice chips are amazing once your cleared to have liquids again after surgery. Hospital broth is disgusting ?. Don’t be afraid to push that pain button when it’s available seriously!!!

I just had a BM and my surgery was 8/28. I was advised to get a stool softener because of the pain meds. Took 2 days after taking them to get one Ive never been so happy in my life!

Mine came 3 days after surgery and it was kinda early ??

Yeah definitely regretting it. Had surgery on 8/28. Everything is hurting, I’m so nauseous and unable to drink much. I know this a process but now it seems like too much
