  1. I haven’t told anyone but being overweight has prevented me from planning a wedding or having children. Now that I’ve had the surgery once i get to my goal weight I want to do both of those things! I also want to go on outdoor adventures and not worry about being out of breath or being in pain
  2. So my bypass surgery was on 8/28. Everything went well I woke up in the worst pain. Luckily they gave me a pain pump. I just had to remember to push it. Lol I asked everyone what to expect and still wasn’t prepared for the pain. Walking is very tiresome and talk about drinking these liquids is difficult. Sipping every 15 minutes seem impossible. But I’m not hungry. I’m able to pas gas and burping since day 2 but no BM (sorry TMI). Also my period came down super early wasn’t expecting to be bleeding from two areas?? right now. I’m only sleeping for about 4/5 hours wake up, walk, bathroom, check drain then sip and surf the internet til i fall back to sleep. This has been difficult but I’m so happy i got it done i can’t wait to be fully healed and can get back to my normal life. Anyone waiting your day. It’s ok to be scared, i wouldn’t have known i had surgery had it not been for the pain I felt like i woke up soon as they put me to sleep lol. Your going to regret it at first but keep pushing through! Ps if you stopped taking the pain meds after day 1 and didn’t need help once you got home your a champ! I came and stayed at my moms and my little cousin has been a lifesaver. Also it has helped having a surgery twin and literally talking everyday and sharing experiences. Good luck to those who have upcoming surgeries, speedy recovery and I’m officially on the loser bench.
  3. Yeah the pain is HORRIBLE!! I’ve cried everyday I’ve been here lol. I’m hoping a week from now this will be a distant memory
  4. Guys I’m in a lot of pain. Everyone told me what to expect and still got the shock of my life lol. I’m ready for the pain to be over. Anyone who stop the pain meds after one day. You my friend are a super hero lol. I will post my full hospital stay in a few days lol
  5. I got mine time last Thursday however they had the time for my preop appt 8/21 but the nurse had already left by the time of my appointment. I’m scheduled for tomorrow morning ?
  6. Was originally scheduled for a 830 arrival but they called a little while ago stating to be there at 530. I have horrible anxiety this is why I’m asking to prepare myself.
  7. You got this! Lots of jello and popsicles
  8. Once they received it, it took about 2 business days
  9. Good morning beautiful people! I’m scheduled for surgery TOMORROW 8/28 with an arrival of 830. Im excited, nervous and scared. I know this may be a little crazy but can you all who have had the surgery tell what I should expect? From check in, to the preop area, to going into a operating room and then waking up afterwards. I’m scared I’m going to wake up and have an anxiety attack ??‍♀️??‍♀️. I know this is weird but I like to be prepared and it’s my first surgery so I’m a MESS!
  10. Glad everything went well
  11. Plz pray for me. I have a god fearing mom who is continuously praying for me, I’m praying for myself but any additional prayers would be amazing. I’m nervous and anxiety is through the roof! 3 days remaining until i undergo my first surgery.
  12. Congratulations the time will go so fast
  13. Guys I’m getting nervous. Surgery is Tuesday morning. I’m so scared. My first surgery ever. I’ve wanted this surgery for years and now finally doing it. At my preop they said i would have a NG tube left in until Wednesday morning. I’m freaking out!!!! Did anyone else have this waking up from surgery. Someone who has had the surgery calm my nerves lol.
  14. Congratulations almost a month away! The time will go so fast!
  15. I lost 9lbs in a couple weeks just by eating egg whites for Breakfast or shake, Protein Shake for lunch and salad with chicken or shrimp (any Protein if you eat red meat or pork) for dinner and then eat Jello for Snacks and popsicles. Cut carbs out completely. Also no sodas or juices. If you are serious about this you will stick with the diet plan created. Count your calories i never go over 1000. And insurance is very strict. Good luck
  16. Welcome! We have the same surgery date. Are you excited? Nervous?
  17. Yeah my mom kept telling me to ask for her manager but I don’t want to get into it with anyone before my surgery lol I’ll save all my frustration until afterwards lol. Will have a pre typed letter for when I’m discharged
  18. FINALLY got my surgery date of 8/28 long time coming! So happy to finally be able to post here! Not required to do any liquid diet but have been replacing 2 meals now going to all liquid.
  19. Update: she called back after 5 with my surgery date of 8/28
  20. Thank you that actually gave me some courage. So I called again and pretty much felt rushed off the phone. She said today is her busiest day where she talks to all the patients and trying to make everyone happy. But she will call me back by 5pm. I was trying not to make a fuss about it because I don’t want to piss anyone before my surgery. And I didn’t want to seem like I am bugging her. But I do plan on giving one hell of a comment/review on my experience specifically dealing with her. The dr is amazing so I don’t want to discredit him. But either they need more than one person handling insurance and scheduling or they need someone who can handle the workload. I don’t normally bitch or try to get people in trouble but this is not professional. When i initially started the process on 3/6/18 I was told my surgery would be in July if I did everything I needed to do and insurance approved me. I had several planned trips and now I more than likely won’t be able to go. This is frustrating and stressful.
  21. So I finished everything that was needed to be done for surgery on 6/22/18. The insurance coordinator was out of town until 6/28. It was no big deal. So i sent her two emails, one to let her know she can submit for insurance and a second one to follow up that she received my first email. Never got a response. 7/9/18 I call my insurance to check on the status they tell me they never received any paperwork. I call the doctors office and she tells me she’s been busy she’ll submit that day. Great! I call my insurance on 7/19 check on the status and still being told no paperwork received. Finally last Thursday I call my insurance again and it was received on 7/20 and approved. Mind you the coordinator stated she sent it 7/9. I have still haven’t been scheduled for surgery. Called Thursday, one lady calls my insurance to confirm I was approved and says someone will be in touch with me to schedule everything. Here we are a week later and still nothing. I emailed yesterday and was told I would get a call today to schedule. Still nothing. At this point I’m beyond frustrated, second guessing everything. Wondering if this is a sign I should not be having surgery. Stress eating, more than likely putting weight back on. I thought the scheduling part would be easy once approved.
  22. Just got approved by my insurance now just waiting on the call for my surgery date. My journey started 3/6/18. 4 months of supervised visits.
  23. Premier protein for sure! I love the strawberries n cream shake and was on my list they even gave samples
  24. The time will fly by! I work out 5/6 days a week. I only eat 1200 calories using my fitness pal . Drink only water no juice or sodas. I was only asked to loose 15lbs. You’ll have ad days just don’t give up
