  1. Welcome and best wishes on your journey! When the nerves kick in, focus not on the difficulties in the beginning but on your long term goals and know that you can get through anything temporarily to achieve a better life in the long run.
  2. Your body really needs that water to convert fat into energy.
  3. Yes, your weight will fluctuate wildly in the beginning. It's ok. Good luck!
  4. Until my 1 week followup with my surgeon.
  5. As with another poster above, I have a bypass but do not dump. Ever. So, you were counting on something that may or may not happen. You can be very successful with either procedure. The most important factor for success after wls is your brain, not your stomach.
  6. Best wishes for a quick and complete recovery.
  7. @GradyCat Just 'cause I'm curious - If you're eating 0 carbs, are you ever gonna poop? Seems like you need some type of fiber, just because!
  8. Thank you! I thought it was only good for children's meals and I'm not a big fan of chicken nuggets. I didn't realize you could just get a smaller portion.
  9. I am not defending the charts, just providing information on how "ideal weight" is calculated. I have no interest in getting to my ideal weight (130)
  10. The "ideal weight" calculation is 100 + 5 pounds for every inch over 5'0", so you would be 100+35=135.
  11. The pre-op diet is rough, no denying it. You really need to power through and focus on the long-term goals. Even if you struggle with the liquids, try to pack them down. It helps to calm your hunger. Also, try chewing on sf popsicles or frozen protein drinks. They (at least) make you feel like you're eating. Good luck!
  12. In the beginning, your weight can fluctuate wildly. Some doctors tell their patients not to weigh for the first month because it can be so distressing. Just stay the course and know that your weight on any individual day will not control the rest of your life. You'll be successful if you keep on like you are. Just give yourself some breathing room. It'll be ok.
  13. Chewing up a Tums won't hurt you for occasional heartburn. Just don't count on it as a source of calcium.
  14. my own, but his keeps me honest ?
  15. The struggle is REAL!
  16. Welcome, Tracy! This is a very supportive community and I'm sure you'll fit right in. I'm so sorry to hear about the devastating losses you've suffered recently. Does your surgical team have a therapist to help you work with your emotions? It really does help a lot. I'm fascinated that they converted your RnY to a sleeve. I didn't know that could be done.
  17. Air fryer Mexican fried chicken tenders and corn&black bean salad. No afters.
  18. I'm a greens kind of girl, too. I use protein bars/chips/cookies at least twice a day or I wouldn't get close to my protein goals.
