  1. Sniff ?you are very correct, both my parent and parents-in-law are now gone, while I wasn't looking I BECAME the older generation, and when things and Occurances happen in my life or the few remaining family I have, I wish I could share it with them! Ah, if there is a Heaven , as I was taught from childhood, maybe on some level they still do know. But it is not a happy time when only YOU are left to celebrate!???
  2. Google says Souteastern Asia shark- catfish, also known as iridescent shark . Maybe someone can tell us what they taste like. I'm still trying to get up courage to try lobster or its more genetic make-up Monkfish. I have had either since surgery, but I had both before.
  3. Too true, too true, but we will do with what tools we have. I just felt bad you weren't given credit for all you have done already. Rather like " If you still think I'm too large, you should have seen where I came from!" GSVguy, I look at my pre surgery pictures,I cry because I didn't realize the size of me I was presenting to the world?! And I thought I was looking good, really I did. But out of that train wreck I built and am still building a NEW ME! I am still legally obese at 31.1, almost ready to drop into Overweight, but I started at 52, that is Abundantly Morbid Obesity, probably within death in a couple years if a ❤attack , stroke or cancer didn't carry me off first! That is a very Scary Larry circumstance, Bariatric Surgery was my best hope and almost my last hope, so even on my discouraged days , I might bad-mouth myself but not my surgery! It gave me back hope, I just got to stay the course until I can take a VICTORY Lap. If you have read my past postings you'll notice I haven't always had sunshine , flowers and bluebird singing in the trees. But I will still prevail, I HAVE COME TOO FAR TO JUST COME THIS FAR! I am not a quitter, I am Red-headed, stubborn, and I'm gonna hang around till the finish. If I die in process, so be it, but I WILL HAVE TRIED. And the Gold Ring may still be mine!
  4. Still a little bigger than you, but I can still can travel along, humming my song, because even with my faulty innards I AM SO MUCH BETTER than once I was! And I still am going to work my way to VICTORY, because I have commited to it!
  5. But Sheribear I agree, the trade- off was worth it, and this is from someone who was a proficent bread maker. I have accepted it, shoot I even miss my Late Husband at times, but he won't be coming back either. And if his return meant he would be in perpetual pain, I could not be that cruel, even though at times I was tempted to sit him at curbside with a placard saying" Free for the Hauling " at nightfall I would have bring him back inside with a severe case of Sunburn. And in my experience NOTHING complains of pain more than a man, Once mine said when in the midst of an diarrhea attack, " You don't know what this pain is like!" Hey Bozo, you gave me 3 9 pound babies which I pushed out without surgical intervention! Let's just discuss pain levels, okay?" Turned on my heel and left the room before I could say worse. Mama wanted me to be a Lady after all, didn't she?
  6. And did you help him up off the floor once you Decked Him? Another weight- deprecator, can't swing a dustcloth without hitting one. I want to tell them Walk in MY shoes and also When you become Perfect we may speak again!
  7. I have adhesive sensitivities also nut it could be also a reaction to your anesthesia or other peri- operative medications. Takes awhile for all that to work out of your system. Oh, at the time, I concede we do need them but there has never been a drug brewed without some side effects. As the old carnival barker said " You pays your money, you takes your chance÷" most drugs can be okay but there always seems to be one which doesn't want to depart without leaving a " calling card". But I'm sorry you're in misery, try some hydro cortisone cream or even Benadryl cream. Ask your medical people if a short course of oral antihistamine might be useful. And from someone who has spent a good portion of her life BUMPY it does get better with time! Honest and truly!???
  8. Could you use Cloud Bread with your cheese? I saw recipes for that on YouTube, sounds easy to make.
  9. Looked it up on Dr Google, hmmm does sound very interesting in theory. If you can survive the intensity it sounds of great success! Yeah, I'll be lurking too to hear experts describe it for them.
  10. Well it's 10 AM and I am UP! Feel about as energetic and motivated as Wallace Wallaby, dontcha just ?the name, sounds like a cartoon character, doesn't it? Take my morning pills- all 9 of them- a minor miracle I don't rattle when I walk! Then on to preparing my morning strawberry protein shake, I really like the taste of ON q00% whey, got little packets my local Wal-Mart was clearancing out at a reduced price, I wonder if they are still accessible at Wal-Mart.com? Oh I love to haunt the clearance aisle, but occasionally my ❤of❤s gets broken when I find something I like that there is NO More of. Sip Sip Sip, when I need to stop I'll pull on some gloves and rub linament into both knees. Gosh I hope out there is a Man who finds ligaments and such serductive, I could use an occasional Dinner Partner! LOL???
  11. Congratulations on breaking That Weight Barrier! Oh there are many more ahead but see, You Are A Success already- You Can Do This- because You Already have passed this goal, kicked it out of your way- not going to slow down or block you on your journey. Way to go, Baby, Way to go.
  12. Remember Mikeyy, our complaints are only the tip of the iceberg, what lies beneath the water may still be Good Things, we just complain about things we think aren't the ordinary occurrences. We don't think surgery is a terrible thing as much as we have an innate urge to WHINE! And when your surgery day arrives, we will be still watching and Wish I g you a GOOD JOURNEY!
  13. Well I must have tried to sleep on my left side too much last night, now the inner surface of my right knee is hurting like an absessed tooth. I could have avoided this had I put a pillow between them. Let's see if I can walk without limping badly, still lazing in my bed. Up and at em, Atom Ant! Gosh, sometimes I quote old defunct cartoons, watched them too much as a kid, now I watch reruns with my grandbabies. I have one, 21 years old, who is a closet Spongebob Square Pants fan. Do you never outgrow your need for cartoon levity?
  14. A banana is a banana, be it tall or small, it depends how you use it, after all! There you go, a little spontaneous poetry for 24th of June. I must go over to June 2019 Challenge and see what the actual motivation is for today. Many, have been just what I needed on Each Day!???
  15. And that is an extremely valid point, you don't have to bring total body breakdown, just desire and commitment to do better and to use your surgical tool to its best advantage.
  16. Thanks darling, I think You're pretty cool yourself!
  17. Would Tai Chi help? Seems like the slow, yet smooth and controlled moves might also help.bI am considering it myself, better than Yoga with my degrees of stiffness. Down Dog would quickly turn into Beached ? Whale. And I might take 3 men and a dog to change my position let alone stand me on my feet again! Ah, but we all have our own degrees of flexibility we brought to the mix.?
  18. 2 posts make the advice twice as nice!
  19. You didn't really ask me , but I'm weighing in. Usually found when you have an Endoscopy For me a knowing that doesn't stop, full or empty. I also have pain in my pouch , like a Charlie Horse internally, although my doctors would argue thins I think I detect a puffiness over Precious , my pouch, last time I mentioned it the resident said it was impossible, she's buried farther down, not on the skin surface. All I know is: I feel what I feel! Besides he only helps form them, I LIVE WITH IT. Plus I have thinned down there below my breastbone. Also pain/tenderness in the right subcostal area, subcostal means " under ribs" perhaps you might want the. translation. I get used to calling things by their medical names. You Upchuck more than you want to because you're swollen inside and food doesn't always pass through readily. How do I know all this? Experience , I have been fighting this war since last October, a month/6 weeks past my RNY. The last EGJ showed healing well underway. Okay, got to show off now. As bypassers, we no longer can have EGD because they no longer can access the duodenum, the 1st part of the small intestine, this the sacrifice we pay to have our type surgery. So we are Esophageal- Gastric pouch- jejunem which is 2nd part of small intestine and the part now attached to our pouch. Marginal means she has ulcers just before the opening or just after. Our acid production got cut way down with surgery, but there is just enough to make an insult to our pouch/ jejunem. And although there is usually protective mucus layer in our stomach, poor jejunem didn't get built that way and the minute amounts still "chew" on him. I had as many as 10 in my intestine as well as the ones in my pouch right before the opening. And swollen also means narrowed so I still am on puree, soup, broth and protein shakes. Seems like forever but only 9 months of my life, for the Greater good I will endure through it! And you didn't ask but I have lost 120+ pounds since my surgery, multiple clothing sizes, and I am still losing, one of the few people who never stalled, like an old jalopy I just keep chugging along , slow and steady and pounds going away permanently.
  20. And how are each of your journeys going? IS IT what you expected to be?
  21. I really want 5 things tonight Fast weight loss..... Fast WiFi..... Fast Metabolism..... Fast and Healthy Food..... Fast Shipping.
  22. So @KimmieGirl how did things go And how are you feeling?
  23. BAD NEWS IS: You can't really control others. You cannot make people like, love, understand, validate, accept or be nice to you. GOOD NEWS IS; It doesn't matter for YOU are not here to improve them, YOU are here to improve and motivate yourself. And in the final analysis YOU are the important one.
  24. A moment of respectful silence for all the times we had a perfect hair day and no one seemed to notice.??
  25. I used the ones from Bariatric Pal store until I ran out, then reverted to my caplet Prenatal vitamins. I have a humor-type one for you. Just once I would like to read a medication that says WARNING: May cause permanent weight loss Remove Wrinkles Tighten up loose body areas Increase Energy Levels. And What a Wonderful World that would be!
