Unsupportive Husband, Says I Gave Up
Owhee you hit a Sore sore spot with me. I was married to one of those type for 44 long years. A good reason why I just went through an RnY at 72, if you want the whole story PM me, I would take up Much Space telling it all. Suffice it to say, my generation was told, your goal in life is to find a man, marry and if things are not dreamlike Suck it Up Baby, suck it up! I lost so much in the deal especially self-respect but Frustr8 survived and has made her way to strength, bruises, scars, and a spiritual limp here and there, but you know I am really a kool and witty individual and nobody's shadow anymore!??

Thanksgiving Recipes
We only aim to serve, My Lady! Besides our roads to Obesity had many cobblestones, and we all have recipes that got us there! We. had, maybe still do have, a poster from the Dominican Republic, her recipes were wickedly good, then there was one from Mexico or the Phillipines with Dulce de Leche cake, oh me oh my, BAD WICKED STUFF! Alas all behind me as I sip broth, made a crock pot with beef round stewing down, it was marked down, maybe misshapen or SOMETHING? Smells so good, with dump some veggies from my cans in there, remember evil ex landlord locked me away from my fresh and frozen items when he changed locks. But it is so nice to wake up in a place, no ants or other bugs crawling out of walls, you can walk straight across floors without being careful, I do miss my curtains and drapes, but I will temporarily improvise, and if I don't go broke before the first of the month, things gonna be fine. I may never, eat normal foods again, although multiple people say I will. I know, I know, still Early Days, but 9 weeks seem forever!

Thanksgiving Recipes
She's the Pioneer Woman! And I'll be even nicer, I'll spell it out for you forthwith. Cake- she uses a 13x18 large sheet cake pan, she likes hers flat, I like mine fatter. 2C flour. 2C sugar( yeah that evil white stuff) ,,1/4 t salt. 4T or 1/4 cup heaping cocoa. 2 sticks butter IC boiling water. 1/2 c buttermilk 2 whole beaten eggs. 1t baking soda. 1 t vanilla, and I use Watkins real only. Frostening: 1/2 C finely chopped pecans- I disagree with Fluffy Chix, I have used walnuts before, I live in the North after all -pecans are expensive up here. If you have a pecan so much the better, we have black walnuts and hickory, THATS what Ms Frustr8 uses! 1 3/4 sticks butter. 4T(1/4 C ) cocoa. 1/3 C milk, recipe actually calls for 6T, you want to stand measuring by T have at it 1 pound(minus 1/2 C ) 10X or powdered sugar Now for the instructions, okay? Combine flour, sugar and salt in largish mixing bowl. In saucepan melt butter and then add cocoa and stir them together. Add boiling water, now you can use another pan or teakettle to bring your water to boiling, I pour the water in my Pyrex measuring cup and microwave it warm. Besides in a minute you'll need the cup again. Okay, poured the boiling water in? Fine, let it boil 30 seconds together , turn off the burner, and pour this over your flour mixture and stir until it cools down some. By this time the measuring cup also should have cooled down, pour buttermilk and the beaten eggs, baking soda and vanilla into it, stir it a little and then pour it into the chocolate-flour-butter mixture in your big mixing bowl. When nice and smooth blended. pour into a prepared pan. Her directions say 13x18 pan 20 minutes at 350 degrees, since I like mine more like a cake than a brownie or flat bar, 30-35 minutes, you've baked before, you'll know how to tell if a cake is done. While cake is baking you can be making the ever-so-rich icing. Melt butter in a saucepan and add cocoa, stir to combine, then turn off your heat. Shoot, even remove it from the burner altogether. Add. milk, vanilla, powdered sugar and stir together. I suppose you could use a mixer, I always did it by hand.Add your pecans and stir some more.Pour over still warm cake, cut into squares and consign your soul to perdition, it is. THAT GOOD! Which leads me to a story. There is another sort of similar cake floating around called Better Than Sex Cake. Lady sent 2 generous slices over to her next door neighbors, waited for a Thank You or other acknowledgment. About evening down came their window shade with message written on it. It said " Please send over remainder of cake, involved in continuing Field Testing!"?LOL

Another post-op poop question. :)
Well while we are on ?, I have something to report. Remember I stated Double MiralxAx a day, MoM evening of Day# 2 for results. With my weird prolonged Stage2B diet, defecation is iffy. Okay I am happy to report,i have resumed a daily ?, the fly,in the ointment of life, there is seldom enough to Poop down into the bowl, instead it holds tenaciously to my rump or crease. Oh bother! Dr Noria stated to let them know if I had any bleeding from the last stricture stretching. Unless I had bright red blood how could I tell? Its usually, dark from the iron in my prenatal multivitamin. See I did not join your chewable league for very long, I loathe ground-up and put into applesauce vitamins, I didn't care much for meltables grainy texture, my prenatal are small, easily swallowed and really more balanced amounts. And a nice price at Wal-Mart, cheap is good if they're quality. So I am left with multi-wipers in the bathroom, oh well no big thing, is it?

Gastric Bypass-No Weight Lost
Doing any better, @ Kaseyn 2 boys? Been 2 months, have they been good for you?

Weight regain following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery...
And saw another study which states 20-30% of all RnY Bypassers have significant weight regain, want to go back and re-scan, want to see what they attribute it to. Is it faulty eating, lack of commitment or something more occult? Scarey-Beary, I came into this hoping to lose weight and then keep it off!???

Stricture
And if the first doesn't work, you can join me, I have been there every 2 weeks, October 12, October 26, November 9th and probably November 23rd. Endoscopy nurses starting to recognize me, Dr Noria my endoscopist/surgeon calls me by my name instead of patient #. and it is approaching "Whatever" status. Almost to the state of one of my smart-*** gynecologists, walked into the examination room, pulled on a pair of gloves and announced "Assume The Position"! My body like like a well- schooled pancake turns automatically to the left side when I get wheeled in. If I didn't have an IV in , they might suggest I walk down the hall and around the corner in the Endoscopy/Hepatology Lab. After all I know the way by now, this time they did put me out, 2nd time since I am a Red-head, yes nosy a natural one, they miss-judged the amount of sedation I would require, and I was wide-awake conscious for it all, didn't feel the scope down because of throat- numbing spray but felt all the rest, not as bad as you might think, saved me pulling it,up on YOUTUBE, but I kinda asked this time because of other stressors in my life to go sleepy-bye and it was VERY NICE, So I am now DoorKeeper/ Bouncer at club Stricture, a very exclusive place, very few pass through.?

Do you ever shove an entire blanket down your pants?
They have a balloon festival in Marysville Ohio and a great big Air Balloon out in Arizona, near Sonoma. Tie the legs shut, they can inflate them with heated air and your pants can be part of the festival! And meanwhile you can rock your newly slendarizing body! Win Win!??

stricture problem or just food sensitivity
Well here is my open letter to my Surgeon/Endoscopist and I will give her a copy,of this. And @mouseCat?? I hope you are monitoring this- maybe this will help? Dear Doctor Noria First I like you, I respect you, I appreciate what you gave done this far but after 3 attempts it does not appear mine will be an easy Stricture solution. You have MANY cases to ponder, I have only ONE-MINE! Some thoughts come to mind. You have stated on your print-outs with pictures each time that my esophagus is clean and normal and you believe Precious Pouch is of normal dimensions. These are reassuring things to know. Yet she remains a Gastric Problem Child. Innervation- I am aware the gastrointestinal system has peristalsis- churning motion of digestive contents and then movement on- when Dr Needleman (blessings be to him!) sectioned off Precious Pouch with his Magic Stapler, did he destroy her churning and motility? If there were nerves severed , will they regenerate or will she remain a non- functioning wart and receptacle only in my abdomen? While doing your procedures have you insufflated her with air, does she have any flexibility, any expandability? I know to you 9 weeks is Early Days, but to ME it is my whole life. Can she hold or will she ever even hold more than the fabled 2 ounces we taught to sip while still in the hospital? Liquids- have you instilled any liquids in Her? Yes I know Leak and stretching tests are more for VSG to test strength of suture lines but maybe She would benefit from this? Contrast mediums -Hmmn? How about instilling some, fluroscope or similar equipment- see how long she can hold things, how quickly She drains. Pulling a figure out of thin Air- say it takes the average pouch an hour to an hour and a half to drain- if Precious drains in 15 minutes or takes close to 2 hours, more study, may be needed. Something else to check out? Are stomal strictures ever stented like cardiologists do blood vessels? Would Precious and I benefit from this? And finally, I am reminded of one of your former countrywomen ( Doctor Noria is actually Canadian , did her pre-training in Toronto) , she lives in New Brunswick, outside of Fredricton. She had a cervical restriction ring, while trying to produce, her 2 daughters she would dialate to 6cm and then it would tighten right back down. Amy Catherine and Alice Victoria were both born by C-Sections. Now I know an Uterine Cervix is a natural orfice whereas a Stoma is a surgical-produced one, but is this outside the realm of possibility, probability, or even conjecture? I know you and Doctor Needleman, my surgeon, your partner, are going to talk over my case. Although you were not in the room that surgery day, you know his work and know it well. Anything you 2 come up with to do to me , I will accept gladly. I was going to say NO OPEN SURGERY but if you happened to notice I have a right paramedian scar, I healed 1 open incision just dandy, I can do it again if necessary. I'll even offer a bonus, if you're feeling groggy that day, call gyn in , after fearing a hysterectomy for years, having multiple PCP threaten me with it, I offered my uterus to an OB/Gyn. in my city, Mount Vernon, Danged fool didn't Want It. Made a wisecrack about only having 1 husband, not enough wear and tear he thought to justify it. So if you needed to OPEN me up, you can have anything superfluous except my 3 kidneys, them I am proud of, and my MINOR CLAIM TO GLORY! Tell those vultures on the Transplant Teams, I'm over 70, they are mine ,all mine, and although I might have shared in my Youth NO MORE! The DoorKeeper and Bouncer for Club Stricture. Frustr8???

Thanksgiving Recipes
3 items beside the many normal things for holidays Frustr8 loved and still does. Didn't say I've had them recently. 1 Eggs Lyonaise- Mama would slice thinly into a buttered casserole white(usually) onions, then make a white flour roux/ white gravy and pour it into casserole over onions seemed like 1 1/3 to 1 1/2 quarts but I was a kid, just guessing. Then she would make depressions in the white sauce and drop a raw egg into each. Sprinkle with bread or panko crumbs, and bake in Moderate oven maybe 350 degree until eggs look nicely set. Perhaps originally recipe said softly set like "over easy" I always demanded "done" never could stand an egg that "slimed" down the back,of the tbroat! 2. onions in cheese sauce- boil small to medium onions in water until tender, drain and then put into cheese sauce, Mama usually used colby, I upgraded to sharp cheddar, sharper the better, I confess I ?cheddar, but once for company I made it with gouda, dotted with butter and then panko bread crumbs. Yeah calorific but sometimes i worked HARD to get obese. 3. Au gratin or scalloped potatoes. Just please don't substitute sliced turnips or rutabegas for potatoes, lady did that once at a Carry- in Dinner, if I had a switchblade there WOULD HAVE BEEN a bloodletting! 4. Oatmeal cake with a caramel coconut praline topping 5. Texas Sheet cake. In later years after allergy raised its gnarled head, I learned to make it with carob powder. Don't flinch, it still turns out well, just a little more milk-chocolatey tasting, I have fooled people who thought it the Real Thing. Then in the last decade I found a recipe for Lemon Texas Sheet Cake, yeah still buttermilk containing but the thick pour- on frostening highlighters with lemon or orange zest. If you think me MEAN sharing this recipes that don't fit a Bariatric Diet Plan think how I feel, still on my Liquids Diet and looking at Green Tealael or Fluffy Chix concocted items. ?them both, but for a few seconds garroting seems too easy a torture!??
