LAST FEW DAYS BEFORE SURGERY---AM I TOTALLY READY?
You’ll be just great Frust! All I used was a brush, pair of sweatpants, hair elastic, phone charger , biotene, and a toothbrush. Don’t bother with anything else - you won’t need it! You’ll either sleep or WALK!

Hungry a lot post op
You’re doing just fine. As Matt said— I too could eat more than others. Main point is make sure the food counts- ie lean proteins. I’m about 8 months post and eat about a cup - have been since very early on . Doesn’t seem to be slowing my progress- everyone is different. You’re doing great :)

Regrets
It gets easier and better after day 5... hang in there

Anxiety About Getting Rid of Clothes
I thought of it as a success and a determination lifestyle statement that I will never ever need to keep my closet full of what ifs and if I need that size agains .... it was liberating. Be proud of yourself and refuse to ever think that way again Get rid of them ... know that you’re donating them to someone who could use them Congrats

Home from the hospital
Congrats! It definitely gets more normal and like you didn’t have surgery after day 5 :)

Regrets
I’m sorry you’re going through that- please reach out to counseling. What you’re experiencing with removing yourself from family etc doesn’t sound healthy or typical Best to you

Who to tell, what to tell them
I didn’t tell any of mine either- just my husband (obv). My family and everyone else think I’m seeing a nutritionist , changing my eating amounts -frequency and types of foods...and hitting the gym (crazy amount of cardio)— all of which true. 8 months out and all good :)

ONEderland...blessed!
Congrats Ash!

How many have lost more than the average?
Ive lost more than anticipated. Started 242 and current 140. You don’t need to be average :)
-
Unexpectedly needing to care for yourself after surgery?
Besides a ride home - no need for anyone to care for you. Just make sure you’re not lifting anything heavy aka go grocery shopping before
-
I think I'm done. But how do I stop?!
Add in things like avocado or nuts... healthy higher calorie items?

Congrats!! Nice work !
-
Excited and scared
Congrats to you both! My Bypass was very uneventful and a breeze so I wish that for you two as well! There may be a bit more discomfort due to band removal but you’ve got this. Gas day 1 was the worst but just get up and move ASAP and it makes its way through

Non Plain Water Drink Choices
Teas! Hot and cold are yummy... with lemon or other sweetener

8 days post op & barely feeling the restriction I felt even two days ago. Normal?
Everyone is different. As an rny person I don’t think I’ve personally had a significant “stall”.... more like a week with no movement but it moves eventually— especially if you are constipated and not eating enough fiber. I’ve slowed to barely 1 lb a week now but I’m very close to goal so I figure it BC my body is almost / or is at its natural weight. Stalls are “normal” but different for everyone- maddening I know but hang in there!

What kind of post-op tea did you drink?
I drank hot tea (cold water made my stomach hurt and hot was soothing). Loved and had peppermint right away - only way I was able to drink water for first month. I love all decaf teas .... especially iced this summer ? Good luck tomorrow!
-
Not eating
You should call your doctor . That isn’t normal
-
4 months post op before & after

I agree with sosewsue - you’re healing :)

Expected Weightless
It’s the % from what you weigh now and what you ideally weigh according to weight chart. Remember that this an average- nothing says you can’t obliterate the average ! I’ve lost more than what was expected
