SGirl35 reacted to BigDH in stall in weight loss
Stalls are funny. My weight has dropped pretty fast in my Eyes. I had my operation 9/13/2017, and its funny , I still weigh my self everyday like an excited little kid! Some days I will lose weight, some days I'll be up a little, and sometimes for a week, ill be about the same weight, then bam the next day, ill be down 2 -3 more lbs, its been a very good transition! I havent experienced any of the dumping syndroms, or anything as of yet.
I think the weird thing at this point for me, is feeling my bones, in my shoulders, my hips, and my ribs. Also the other thing I really enjoy, is seeing someone that hasnt seen me since my surgery, and cant belive I'm the same person!
    Cheers - Dennis

Uh, I'm over a year out and I definitely want to. Lol. Cravings are real. They don't magically go away. bread doesn't sit well with me anymore, so a bagel sounds delicious until I have two bites. Even knowing that now, I get cravings for Bagels. And burgers on Buns. and roasted beet paninis with goat cheese and arugula. There's a disconnect between the part of my brain that makes my mouth Water for whitefish spread on a toasted egg bagel and the part of my brain that knows that a bagel will make me nauseated and ruin half my day. I don't know how long it will take that disconnect to catch up. But it definitely didn't go away. I'd be cautious about telling newbies that it's just as simple as "you won't want that anymore."

You’re at 190? That’s fantastic. If you lose 10-13 a month going forward you’re doing great- so everyone says. I’m finally in the 190’s too- but the gym 5 days a week helped big time! I only walk maybe 30 min to 1 hour if I have energy, and last week I lost 4 lbs.. so it really helped me. I have kidney pain also, but I have a history of stones ..
Just keep in mind as we are in the 100’s range of weight we have less to lose so our bodies don’t drop 20-30lbs fast anymore.. you’re doing great.

Yes. Lots of numb areas not just hands... doc said it was lack of B vitamins... I took the B complex and it’s helped a lot - although it takes a week to kick in.

I wear a lot of leggings, tunics and riding boots. They are forgiving with the loose skin I have right now and as I shrink they do too.

I am 39 years old and wear a size 2 or 4 now (pre surgery was 26/28 and 3XL). It is actually difficult for me to find clothes that fit. I have had great luck with ThredUP.com and Swap.com. I like the clothes from Ann Taylor, banana Republic, and J Crew. They just fit really well.

Talk to your doc. I have experienced numb hands and numb legs and on occasion, numb face. I tracked it down with my PCP to a low B Vitamin level. As long as I take my B12, I do OK.

Not too much of a guide plan. Just whole, plant based foods. Fruits, veggies, legumes, etc. The options are truly endless and SUPER delicious.
I personally don't eat animal Protein or dairy, minimal meat replacements, and minimal processed foods.
My husband, who ate red meat at every meal before my surgery, has become a vegetarian. We both love how we feel and are astonished that the strong craving for sweets has completely diminished.
Not sure how helpful this has been. I'm just going by my personal experiences

I'm almost vegetarian. I had my surgery August 8 and when I !could eat whatever, meat went down fine. Now the smell really bothers me. I can certain things (one egg, sometimes, or a slice of bacon.) I eat a lot of smoothies, tofu and other things to get my nutrients. I do love all veggies so this really isn't an issue for me

That's a bid against carbohydrate-heavy foods. (They tend to provide calories without much nutrition.. and that can get in the way of meeting goals and/or weight loss).

After getting to Goal and maintaining it I am definitely going for the "Daddy Do Over". If my truck got damaged I would spend tons of money trying to make it look New again so why not show my body the same respect. Definitely keep me up to date with how his practice is doing. Facebook Paul Holt

I need Lipo on my legs since I always had a condition where my lower body is not proportion with the rest of my body (lipedema? I think that's what it's called). I found a doctor that specializes in it in LA but it costs $30,000. This was in March. I'm still losing so I'll wait till I reach my 2nd goal, but for the mean time saving as much as I can. It's hard to save though, everything is expensive where I live. I looked into financing but that's even worse ($600/month payment). I don't want to be in the hole, so I just have to figure out a way to make extra income.

Was 169 your GW or was that the GW your surgeon recommended? I'm 177 now but feel like I have to get down to 160 to at least explore plastics. I feel like I haven't lost enough yet.

Here are a couple pics from this morning! I love that I can now wear leggings and a t-shirt WITHOUT having to wear Spanx underneath! I don't miss the fold in my stomach that would always hang over the waist band!!! This is all without my compression garment on! ️

I don’t post on here much I mainly read and get advice, but I wanted to post about my progress I had gastric bypass in April 2017 a few complications with balloon dilation, 3 of them! But I’m so glad I had this surgery, it’s changed my life for the better. I can keep up with my 3 year old son better, work is so much easier, and life in general is better. I feel like I’m a happier person. Sometimes I still struggle with my brain, I think it still is sees the fat persons I once was, but I look at old pictures to remind myself no look you’ve come so far!!! My family is supportive as much as they can be but they all struggle with weight and eating with them is difficult. I usually have to bring something different.
I find it’s still hard to get the 80 grams of Protein my dr wants me to get but I try every day! I’ve mastered Water and vitamins!
