How many calories a day do you eat?
I do weekly calorie averaging that looks something like 5:2 where I have 5 days that range from 1200-1500 cals and 2 days of about 500-750cals. I try for low carb most days but have some fluctuations as high as 50g of net carbs. My average over the week is between 1000-1100 cals to maintain. I still aim to get 60-80g protein, 30g net carbs and the rest healthy fats. I am 22mo out RNY and maintain between 130-135lbs. Today I'm 131.4lbs. I still weigh measure log and plan everything. I try to eat only a 1cup portion for meals and will have 1 1/2 cups portion if leafy greens and raw veggies are involved.

I messed up, what was I thinking
I understand it's human. But it can also be dangerous. Ask some of the vets here about the people who eat pizza 1 week out or fried chicken the day after surgery. The docs make these rules not to be sadists, but through experience...

Daily Menus for Maintenance
Good Monday morning! ((hugs)) on the bloated tummy. My #2 train has been playing fast and loose with the train schedules. It keeps sending partial trains down the track thinking I will be fooled. But yeah...this isn't my first time conducting. LOL. So I feel ya on the hard tum! I was really good except for too much booze this weekend - until last night. We had fam over and I made our dad's meatballs and sauce, had a skinny Manhattan with orange bitters and had 2 glass of cab over the course of the evening. I have been up and down between 130.8-132. This morning I'm back at 131.4lbs. And yet...I know full well I have at least 1 more pound up north, stuck somewhere on the tracks. Let's just say with all the greens I've been eating, input is NOT anywhere equal to output. LOL. Yesterday, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 Maintenance: 57y / F / 5'4" / 22mo PO RNY / 131.4lbs B1-Flubber Protein Frappaccino #3 (thank god it's gone!) L- BH turkey and lacy swiss roll AS-1/4 air fryer lc tortilla pizza with turkey pepperoni, skim mozz, mushies, rbp, ro, basil, parm D - chopped salad, daddy's meatballs and sauce with zoodles, skinny manhattan, 2 glass cabernet BS-Longhorn cheddar with peanut butter Daily Totals: 1526 cals; 75g protein; 64g fat; 62g carbs; 12g fiber; 50g net carbs

Foods you can no longer tolerate
I love this, Danny. I actually agree with EVERYTHING she said! If you're just gonna go back to the old relationships that got you to the Obesity Ball in the first place, then why have the surgery which is designed to give us a brief window of opportunity to reshape our relationship with food while limiting stomach volume, and resetting some hormones that CAN be forked over YET AGAIN if we're not careful. Why do that to yourself? If it wasn't for a brand new second chance at life? At living a HEALTHY life? I'm no angel. I aim for 100% compliance and know that at best, I will only realize 80-90% compliance success. But even then, because of the reprogramming, I was able to reach my goal. I have successfully maintained for the past few months (early days yet). And I ask myself, is X Food/Drink worth the price I will pay tomorrow? Every bite we take is shaping our life tomorrow and next week, even next month. Or next year. We're either killing ourselves with each bite, or healing ourselves.

Foods you can no longer tolerate
boiled okra. Ok, and sugar, high glycemic carbs, and heavy fat, full fat cheeses, too many nuts or nut butters, fatty meat, fatty rich foods/casseroles.

I messed up, what was I thinking
Look. I don't get why we all think we must test the envelope. But seriously...cheese will stop you up on the top and the bottom and is much too heavy for now. Avoid it till you're poopin like a champ and your tummy has healed a little more. The rules are there for a REASON!

The Maintenance Thread
Maybe? Monday is a usual day for me to IF or at least do an 18:6 or OMAD. No 36 hours for me.

Not feeling full
This for sure!!! I am almost 22 months. I weigh measure and track everything that goes in my mouth!!! Here's something I wrote yesterday that gives food volumes and explains the diff between weighing and measuring! (I do both. I weight protein on a scale into a 1 cup measuring cup. My forever diet is 1c volume per meal and 60-80g of protein per day. They are two different things: Part A = 1 cup per meal and Part B = 60-80g protein per day. I need a measuring cup to make sure I satisfy Part A = no more than 1 cup per meal. I need a scale to know that I am actually taking in 60-80g of protein per day. I think this might be a fun topic
That's a LOT of food for your stage. At 5 weeks you should be at 1/4 to 1/3 cup of food. That is 2-3ounces by VOLUME, not weight. At the most that is 1-2oz of protein by WEIGHT and if you have room, a BITE or 2 of veg well cooked.

Stranger than fiction...
Wow! Prayers for healing!!! ((hugs))

Regained weight with SIPS
Why do you think you've regained? Are you doing anything differently since July to contribute to the regain? Do you weigh, measure, track and plan your food? Do you exercise? Do you drink any caloric liquids especially alcohol? Give us a couple days examples of what you eat. Also fill out your profile form to tell us more about yourself. You can also add a ticker to your signature.

Weigh gain - 3 years post op
I think there are many roads to the same truth. Love all the advice. Congrats on making the decision to take charge of the regain now while it's only 10-15lbs! Check out this poll and give your feedback if you think you'd be open to this? I honestly would go back to Bari Basics of your Forever Diet post surgery. That's the forever stage or highest stage. As @Healthy_life2 said, it's very important to clean house. Get rid of the crap in your pantry and fridge if possible. And if you live in a mixed house, see what you can do to sequester the crap to one spot that is not if your line of site! A separate cabinet or file drawer or fridge! Detox off the crap, especially sugar and white foods. 1. Food log, plan, weigh, measure EVERYTHING that goes in your mouth, good and bad. 2. Protein first. Meet your protein goals each day. 3. Lo glycemic veggies are next. (Low Carb Keto Veggies) 4. A tiny bit of healthy fats to help with satiety and vit/min absorption. 5. Drink 100oz of fluid per day (a good amount of it water). 6. Take your vitamins and minerals daily. 7. Get back to walking and then to your forever exercise program. 8. Keep foods SIMPLE-try to avoid super caloric, super gratifying foods. I think they make you eat more and cause hunger quicker. Stick to dense lean clean proteins and al dente veg and if still hungry low glycemic berries or underripe apples/pears in small quantities. 9. Weigh daily and take your measurements. 10. Deep breathe, do comedy therapy on Netflix, meditate or pray, hug your kids and fam/friends. 11. Ditch any caloric liquids other than the limited use of protein drinks. 12. Never underestimate the power of Rotisserie Chicken from Costco or Sam's.

OMG. I love these! I also love Tajin spice on them. I can now get away with a couple of small cubes of melon.

POLL! Let's Play: Would You Join A Private Accountability Club With Online Support Meetings?
I hope to hear from others too. Will you share this info? I'm looking at the least per week that we can afford to do and still pay for the payment processing each month and the fees to keep track of it all. I'm also looking at any sales tax implication, so hope to have some feedback for y'all soon!!! Wooohoooo a real LIVE online support group, accountability partners and book club dealing with the head work and behavior modification.

Hurts to drink water
Also, continue varying the temperature. And if water doesn't work, then you know, try ANYTHING liquid just to make 64oz. It all adds up! Even popsicles and ice chips. Right? Even broth helps. I know that warm liquids were better for me than cold--even at almost 22months out. But I can drink like a champ and have been able to since the get-go. Are you having any other issues with solid food? You are about the time that strictures make themselves known. Also are you taking a PPI?

Daily Menus for Maintenance
Are you craving salt or protein? I will tell you this protein coffee frappaccino with psyllium is a GUT BOMB! I just had 1/3 of it. It made like 32 ounces and it was only 1/3 of the drink. Now I'm STUFFED feeling. I just felt like I needed to mainline protein so I went with the easiest to digest form of it. And it stopped any cravings in its tracks!
