  1. I think it's quince paste. Goes with Manchego.
  2. Good lord, what a rollercoaster and mentally draining!!! ((hugs)) I truly think the time leading up to the actual approval process was THE most gruelling time of all! The ups and downs. Sheesh!! But what your PCP and clinic head did was pretty rank IMHO. I had docs who definitely have opinions and biases against WLS, but they aren't allowed to speak out without being invited and they all ultimately said it had to be my decision. But none of them gave me a lot of hope (except the bariatric surgeon and RD), that permanent weight loss was possible even with the surgery. Sorry you had to experience that and that it added to your emotional load!!! Congrats on being approved!!!! Come here often and do your work and you will be successful!!!! (Oh and btw? Not for one single moment have I regretted taking this action to reclaim my life. Not once.)

Oh man! I totally forgot about that and so sorry for being insensitive. Lemme esplain, ok? NOT because of your dress! Has zerah to do with it. It has everything to do with how vibrant and happy you look and that your skin has ZERO wrinkles and looks fresh, bright and dewy. Everything that says "Hey this woman is young and has a healthy life/diet and hormones." So sorry to make you fret! ((hugs))
  4. I guess I'm thinking "Daily Menus for Maintenance" is very self-explanatory?
  5. No. But some people have issues with nuts and nutbutters close out from surgery. Other's don't. I personally couldn't handle the full fat kind until probably about 1 year out. Same thing with large volume of nuts/seeds. I still really have to keep it to 1/2-3/4oz of nuts/seeds to be super comfy. It would sit in my pouch like led and make me feel very nauseated. I think it's cuz of the fat content? But I had no issues using the Vitacost Peanut Butter Slim Peanut Butter Powder reconstituted or used in smoothies etc. Not nearly as good for sure, but it wouldn't stick around and make me feel like pukin'!
  6. Wow! IDNKT!!! Thanks for the info. I hate their blend's taste...but sorry you are upchuckin'! No fun! Hey you might try BP's new coffee. I think Alex just got in a new low acid organic coffee. I want to try it. Cuz you know...I love low acid.

IKR?!!! She also looks about 18.
  8. Of course you can. I'm trying to help direct you since you're new here and may not have a full gist of the site and all the forums. I want you to have THE MOST answers to your questions! (And your questions are not pursuant to Maintenance Menus, they're kinda all over the place.) But you are in a particular thread that is devoted to MENUS FOR MAINTENANCE. And despite our thread being active, it's only active with a handful of people. And the Bariatric Pal sight has 1000s of posters on the main forums where you can ask your questions or respond and engage in different topics. I was trying to point you to areas where you can freely ask all sorts of questions and get way more information that we might be able to give.
  9. OP is talking about cheating on her plan and taking Xenical to try to mitigate damage. And she's worried that the loose stools will cause a problem during surgery. And I think yeah, it's an issue and she needs to tell the surgeon.
  10. Can you do it on your desktop? I think it's easiest to do it that way. Then you can see that there are also so many areas where you can post and get better response. This is the thread for people who have lost all their weight and are maintaining. We are all usually pretty far out from where newbies and sophomores are. So you will get better support and more response from your peers in other areas!!

  12. My doc says that often, it's only a brief window of intolerance and that it can go away the further you are out from surgery?
  13. I love unsweetened cashew milk, too!
  14. That rib and coleslaw look MacDaddy Delish!!!! *drool*

  17. Me=no issues with rice, pasta, potatoes other than 2 hours later I will have RH and be on the floor sweating and shaking with bg in the 40s.
  18. Oh the infamous 3 week stall that hits anywhere between weeks 2 and 6. ((hugs)) It's awful. Hang in there!!
  19. SMH. Right? No wonder we're all sick and fighting obesity.
  20. Add a squeeze of lemon to that, and a bag each of green tea and Earl Grey + a shot of ACV and you have MY favorite morning drink.
  21. Hey Nate, sorry you feel like you've failed WLS. I think that's the deep dark dirty fear we all have and it's also a lie we tell ourselves. The only way to fail is to totally check out and not try any longer. But I don't see that in your intention! I agree that if you are still depressed, you should run not walk to your psych and or doc and ask to have your meds adjusted to either another dose or to a different combination. Some other things that help: Exercise (walking), especially in sunlight and fresh air/green areas. And if you can walk fast until you feel pooped even better, but you may not have the strength for that, so work with your doc. Practice deep breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. Pray or meditate. Google four square breathing. Really great stuff. Watch comedies and laugh out loud. Smile at yourself in the mirror and envision you dressed in a Super Hero outfit. Find someone you love and hug them tightly, rocking, for a long time. Or hug your pet! Then clean out your pantry, fridge, and freezer. Clean out the booze closet too. Begin planning, tracking, weighing, measuring your food. Here are your rules to start: 3 meals + 2-3 small snacks (no more than 100cals each and low carb high protein): Each meal = no more than 1 cup of food by volume = 2-3 oz of lean dense protein by weight + 1-2 oz of al dente steamed dense veggies + 1 tsp healthy fat equivalent: olive oil, ghee, butter, avocado oil, coconut oil or 1oz avocado. Snack Ideas: Hard boiled egg 1oz Boar's Head Turkey or Everroast Chicken 1oz Leftover Dense protein 1oz reduced fat cheese + 1/4oz almonds 2oz Granny Smith apple + 1/4oz almonds + 1 lite string cheese 4oz Greek Non Fat Yogurt + 1oz blueberries 1 Jello sugar free cup + 1/4c Plain Greek Yogurt + 2-3 drops liquid vanilla stevia 1 sugar free popsicle 1cup raw veggies + 1/4c Plain Greek Yogurt + 1/2tsp Ranch Dressing Mix or Lipton Onion Soup Mix You should come take my poll here:
