  1. You know, it wasn't willpower. It was YOU creating new neural pathways and making up new rules about how to navigate through mine fields. Give yourself powerful credit! Congrats. And way to have an action plan for tomorrow!!! I can't tell you how many times I close my eyes during commercials on TV at night! I can't tell you how many times I walk away from conversation centered around foods. It doesn't bother me anymore to do it. I just go, "Meh. Not today Satan." You got this. Congrats!! Embrace food aversion and restriction. It's a very finite window for us to maximize!
  2. WTG dude! I'll have to check him out. I am totally at the end of the day about calories and macros and mixing things up enough to have metabolic flexibility! For me cravings aren't so simple. Some things I could do that with...stop at 1 Hershey's Kiss. But, other things are much harder (oh I'm talkin bout you Mr. Pringles and you Lay's Potato Chips and you Adriatic Pizza!) LOL. So you have to know yourself.
  3. I totally get this and do the same thing! ((hugs)) No one is perfect. But by trying for 100% we get way more near that 100% than by keeping a "get out of jail free card" in our back pocket.
  4. Great thread!!!! @VIKING 0424 You look amazing dude! Congrats!
  5. Make a lettuce wrap! It's a win win and the bread will only make you feel crappy!! ((hugs)) It is HARD being in an environment where there is so much temptation! I totally get it! On the flip side though is that we went through incredibly stringent measures to commit to a different way of life. We promised our surgical team (at least I did--I have a contract with them) that I would follow their path, guidance, support, training and that I would work to develop new skills and new ways of eating and making lifestyle choices. Each time we give in to a craving, we hardwire our brains to that craving/response behavior and it cements that mother trucker in there like super glue. Each time we break from the craving/food behavior, we had an opportunity to build a new neural network filled with "better choices/behaviors." This is life. It's filled with temptations. It's how we CHOOSE to apply our considerable power that will determine whether we make a choice that promotes health and wellness or one that cements an old, ineffective behavior into our new present reality and future. With every bite we're either building our future body or tearing it down. Just "food for thought". Chew on it. And see if it helps you? @Michael S You are an adult with the power of free choice hon. I'm not the food police. But I am very serious about helping broaden knowledge and experience when it comes to breaking emotional/comfort eating patterns that got us a lifetime invite to the Obesity Ball.
  6. Yikes! I wasn't allowed to either remove my compression wear or shower with drains. Pain meds! Ladies. Pain meds!!! ((hugs))
  7. Make sure you are following your surgical team's progression timeline. Don't advance your diet ahead of time.
  8. Here's a great article from one of my favorite bariatric counselors! http://theshrinkonyourcouch.com/feelingsarentfacts/?fbclid=IwAR3T75ATJhyXq39vJN-OybIa0yNIwAe9mq4lgxrQ6vACf6wgrz7xUhWOAnk
  9. Ok, that settles it. Walmart IS Santa. right? Going there to shop now. TY!
  10. Crap! No way! I gotta have it STAT! I love bananas and cream Premier Protein so I bet this is gonna be even better. I'm asking for a carton of the chocolate and a carton of the strawberry banana from Santa! But I don't do the milkshake version cuz too many carbs and cals. I do the plain chocolate one that has 170cals and 26g protein and like 7g net carbs?
  11. @ms.sss Yay!!! Congrats woman! So excited for you and so excited to see your journey! @rs (not linking. ) Yay!!! Congrats to you too!! Wiping your butt without pain is HUGE!!!! ?
  12. Claire, I blame shows like My 600LB Life and Fat Doctor for these expectations. The average weight loss is 2-4lbs per WEEK. So you losing 11lbs per week is OUTSTANDING and something to shout about, not to be depressed about. ((hugs)) But I will tell you, that as you rapidly lose weight, the fat will give off some serious hormones that will lead you into and out of cyclical isolated spots of depression. But the important thing to know is that they usually pass. If you see your's are not passing, please contact your surgeon and RD and ask for vitamin testing and also for a referral to a bariatric counselor? I felt alternately joyful, depressed, angry, super energized, optimistic--the whole gamut of emotions. LOL. Then my fat liberated and the hormone storms dissipated. And I only lost something like 12-14lbs the first month? I'm now at goal #3. I'm 131.4 today.
  13. OMG, IKR??? Tastes like thick creamy chocolate milk, doesn't it?
  14. Also, do a search on Amazon for Egg White Protein powder and it pulls up a lot of different brands. They have flavored and unflavored you can add to savory things like soups, etc.
  15. Here you go. They have other flavors too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_atf_aps_sr_pg1_1?ie=UTF8&adId=A05696301Q8EQGPU97DGK&url=%2FJay-Robb-Outrageously-Delicious-Servings%2Fdp%2FB003757WBK%2Fref%3Dsr_1_1_sspa%3Fkeywords%3Djay%2Brobb%2Begg%2Bwhite%2Bprotein%2Bpowder%26qid%3D1576761306%26sr%3D8-1-spons%26psc%3D1%26smid%3DA2ELPL77I36RFH&qualifier=1576761306&id=2766284422237991&widgetName=sp_atf https://www.amazon.com/Jay-Robb-Outrageously-Delicious-Chocolate/dp/B002SEXSEG/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=jay+robb+egg+white+protein+powder&qid=1576761306&sr=8-7
  16. Wooohoooo! Your superhero should be The Incredible Shrinking Dude!!! Take care!!
  17. Well I like Premier Protein RTD in my coffee. I just found the Fairlife Milk one. Hold me. So. Dang. Good. I use Isopure powders to make smoothies. Lately I've been making a lot of frappaccinos with ice, coffee, a scoop of powder and some psyllium husks for thickness and some SF Torani peppermint or pumpkin pie spice syrups. I also love making blueberry yogurt ones with banana pp and Vitacost powdered Peanut butter Slim. Dang. Now I want on! LOL
  18. I double fontained coffee just now. ((hugs)) That only means I need to find a life somewhere! hahaha
  19. LOL! IKR???!!! I try to keep most of the stuff I cook that way! It just makes it easy peasy! I'm kinda mad I can't have those for dinner tonight. I had to use up some cauli for brekky and had breakfast hash and a fried egg so couldn't have them this morning!
