  1. Adding to the Consensus, best looking salads ever
  2. I never got full after 5 bites unless it was a protein that was on the drier side. Also at only 5 weeks post op you may not have full sensitivity or recognize your full warning yet. Definitely eat a bit slower and measure everything. Good Luck ❤️

I love everything about it! Sadly I gave up clothes shopping (no particular reason) maybe I should start again!

    Congratulations!!!!
  5. Slightly less painful for me!
  6. Hi! I was sleeved in 2017 and converted to bypass in 2019. 1) Your reasons for conversion from the sleeve to bypass. I wish I did the revision as soon as my symptoms started (GERD) Instead of waiting couple years but I didn’t understand that I was actually experiencing GERD. I just kept trying to rework my diet to see if the symptoms never occurred to me it was something that I could not fit without surgical intervention. 2) What was the post op period like compared with sleeve? It was a easier than when I was sleeved, I don’t know why but I’m grateful 3) What is the best and worst part of having the bypass? To me the bypass is almost exactly like having sleeved, I can’t tell the difference Until I remember the difference in restrictive feelings during eating. With a slave restriction was high in my chest almost near my throat. With the bypass I feel the heaviness disinterest in food. Some days if I eat and dryer proteins source (like grilled chicken breast) I can feel both types of restrictions. 4) Any dumping issues? Yes I do experience dumping although it’s well managed now. I do have a few additional food restrictions than I did it with the sleeve. I cannot eat really sweet things. Or if I do it is literally one bite and I’m done. I rather not feel terrible over food if I can prevent it.
  7. I think it was whatever goal someone chooses in the normal range plus 20lbs
  8. I totally understand, BMI and weight on a chart looks so different than on various people.
  9. I also thought that was not going to be the case for everyone, it certainly didn’t work that way for me. Glad to know I’m not alone.
  10. You are very early post op so don’t worry, yet. The main focus at this stage is to watch for signs of infection, seroma, hematoma, embolism and to make sure your wounds heal properly. Definitely have a conversation with your surgeon and ask him about your current cup size and what are the next steps if you want “more”. BTW, Congratulations
  11. I came across this video on a surgeon’s perspective on how to set weight goals after WLS. Thoughts? Experiences?

You look lovely ❤️ Yes spring is here! The birds are all actively mating or nesting (loudly), the bugs are biting, plants are vining and I have the urge to wear pastels again.
  13. Personally I would track calories very carefully for a while to see how much I’m actually consuming and make changes from there. Then I would clean my kitchen and pantry. Put not so great choices further away and easy substitutes in plain view (reg calorie snacks vs 100 cal pre portioned snack bags, reg salad dress vs lite version, reg bread vs low carb bread) Next I would really consider giving up liquids with calories the majority of the time, except a slash of cream for coffee/tea or the occasional protein shake. Last I would begin to make simplified versions of my favorite meals with less calories but more flavor. (These are all things I’ve done for myself or to help friends) Good luck, you’ll do well!
  14. I’ve always made them from scratch. But I never made whipped style only, rustic smashed potatoes. When I’m in a hurry for them to cook I will peel and dice the potatoes . If I can spare the time I only peel them. Lazy days I go prep free andI cook then skin on and peel once cooled. I once had box potatoes and could immediately taste something off (I now believe was powdered milk) and I did not like the flavor.
  15. I’m sure it has something too do with the availability of surgeons trained in the procedure. Hopefully that changes soon.
  16. Hopefully surgeons can use this to lobby for insurance companies to begin covering the procedure.
  17. Glad you are doing better. This is definitely something to ask your doctor about.
  18. (Lightly) Teriyaki chicken w/ mashed potato and mixed vegetables. About 3/4 cup of potato, 1tbsp of veg and 3 oz of chicken. I decided to not finish because I was bored with it ?
  19. Mash potatoes with teriyaki braised mushrooms. This is my portion and I believe it’s right around 1 cup of food. That fact that I even cooked made this a miracle meal. Anyone else tired of being the head chef?
  20. Congratulations! Quick and easy recoveries are the best surprise anyone can get. I began to need new clothes 4 months post op, then again at 1 year post op. I’ve basically been in the same wardrobe since then adding and subtracting only if needed.
  21. I finally found the Aldi keto bagels! They are not nearly as dense as regular bagels and I don’t mind because I still cannot eat dense breads.
  22. Congratulations and good luck on round 2!
  23. Turkeys and cheese sandwich w/carrot “chips” I’m still loving the Aldi zero carb bread and only need one slice as a serving which is a good thing because there was a price increase
  24. I’ve never had goat in anything other than a spiced stew or curried so I’m not sure what it tastes like simply roasted but I imagine very similar to lamb but with a little less lamb flavor. Maybe a cross between beef and lamb ??‍♀️
