  1. hi i had to do the six months supervised dietian classes i started in april of 08-my last weight in was sept 3rd 08,had to wait because of the holidays over i was banded on january 13th 09. thats exactly 10 months. good luck on your new journey.
  2. I was banded on january 13th, i have type 2 diabetes,high cholestral,high blood pressure,he took me off diabetes meds an cholestral meds so fao everything seems ok.still taking my blood pressure pills.
  3. During the six months dietian classes i lost 40lbs,from april 08-september 3rd.january 13th was surgery my weight was 285lbs. after surgery now 266lbs. my total is 59lbs.
  4. hi my nutritionist recomend flintstones vitamins with iron or flintstone complete.twice a day also viactiv chews . i take the chewable vitamins.i know they are for kids but they have iron.
  5. hi vala my doctor told me to do ensure drinks.i was nit hungry after surgery i was on 1/4cup for breakfast, lunch,dinner. each has 2.2grams protien. 62.5 calories. each for a total of 7grams of protien an 188calories a day.i lost 19lbs within two weeks.i was also on children vitamins with iron an viactiv chews. twice a day. i had my choice of ensure boost slimfast glucerna no sugar added carnation instant breakfast made with skim milk. hope this help.wishing you a speedy recovery.sil

  9. the nurse in my doctor office call me the day before surgery that morning saying congrats you been approved i am like(WTH). my surgery date was january 13th 09.they submitted to insurance nov 29th. during the info session. they say it takes two weeks to comfirm but it was during the holidays, everyone was on vacation i was really shocked. because the nurse was nervous herself.she got the call that morning.
  10. Hi lyndi i went for my first fill on monday i have gained 3lbs back from the 19lbs that i lost during two weeks post-op. cause i was eating mash potatoes.during the mushy stage. the nurse says no carbs.so you are not alone.
  11. hi my surgery was on the 13th but it was a tuesday, my son was born on a friday the 13th, i call him my good luck charm. forget the (crap) lol an have your surgery. you will be fine.

  13. I had my first fill yesterday also.i have the small band.he gave me 1.5ccs he told me liquid for 24hours then mushy 24hours then regular foods.

  15. I had my first fill today did not eat or drink anything.thats just me i never eat or drink when i have a doctors app.my doctor did no specify.i am on liqiuds for today, mushy the next day then i can advance to regular foods.

  17. my blog says i have gained (3)lbs.not thirty, i would be out of my mine. when i first got banded january 13th.i lost 19lbs.i was not hungry but then came the mushy stage i was eating mashed potatoes.but they are loaded with carbs an that,s a no no.
  18. :scared2:hi everyone today i went for my first fill. my appointment was at 11:40. got their at 11:15. had to wait for like five minutes.by the way i gained 3lbs.she ask me what i was eating i said mashed potatoes.mushy stage she said no carbs.but protien. the doctor gave me 1.5cc he said i had the small band, standard.i don,t know how many cc,s it hold. but anyway it was painless an easy about f ive seconds it was done he ask me did i fell anything i say no he says most people do some don,t but for a second i could taste it in my throat.it taste just like my iv fluid when my nurse change my iv bag during my hospital stay. after the fill he gave me water to sip it went down fine.i am to do liquids for today, tomorrow mushy, then he said regular foods.he is a great doctor.so far i haven,t had any complications what so ever. as i sit here sipping my chicken broth i think i can feel something.so my people how are you doing. wishing everyone blessings on our new journey in life.   20. hi dream716 i was banded on january 13th 09.i am 3 weeks post-op. here is a list. first 2 weeks i lost 19lbs was not hungry at all only was allowed 1/4 cup full liquids slimfast light yogurt lowfat cream of chicken soup(strained) sugarfree,lowfat pudding lowfat cream of mushroom soup(strained) skim milk no sugar added carnation instant breakfast made with skim milk.my doctor had me on ensure three times a day. hope this helps. sil.
  21. hi call your insurance an see what the requirements are for lapband surgery. they will tell you what you have to do.an also ask your doctor about it.
  22. I went to my two weeks checkup on the 26th of january.my surgery was on the 13th.i lost 19lbs during the two weeks my doctor told me don,t expect to lose anymore weight.roght away.until i start getting my fills.
  23. hi i am taking one viactive chew in the morning.a flinstone vitamin in the morning. and same thing at night.flinstone complete with iron.
  24. hi christymarie i wouldn,t worry to much i was banded on the 13th of january my instructions was to drink ensure 3 times a day 1/4 cup. one at 9:00,1:00,6:00. i was not hungry at all. thank goodness within that two weeks i lost 19lbs. make sure you sip your protien water, crystal light. my calories from the ensure was a total 7 grams of protien, 188 calories for the day. i thought i was gonna have problems but i did not. good luck on your new life journey.
