  1. This is the part of banding that scares me the most. Emotional eating and head hunger have always been tough for me to deal with. As soon as something goes wrong, or I'm bored.....BAM I'm stuffing my face. I'm trying to break these habits now, so when I am banded it won't be as big of an issue.
  2. I'm so sorry you had to go through that but I want to thank you for posting about it. For us that haven't been banded yet, that's a great way to warn others to BE CAREFUL. I'm glad you're feeling better, take care...you CAN do this! :rolleyes2:
  3. Great job GreatlyBlessed!! :rolleyes2:
  4. It took me a few seminars to find the doc that was right for me. It added more time to my journey (working on being approved) but, I have a doc I'm comfortable with and I'm happy about that. Best of luck to you!
  5. I know how you feel WWH. I'm so glad I've made the decision to move forward with the Lap Band procedure! I can't wait to get approved (in the final stages now). Best of luck! Shir2Bthin - Congrats on your weight loss! You must be SO PROUD!
  6. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time, keep your chin up!
  7. I'm so very sorry you had to go through that!! I'll keep you in my thoughts for a speedy recovery.
  8. I'm glad I saw this thread, I currently am on a BP med that is about the size of an aspirin. I plan on showing it to my surgeon when I go to my appt next week.
  9. Just popping in to send good wishes your way LJM. You've been such an inspiration to me over the months I've been struggling with having this surgery done. I'm praying for you, and sending positive baby thoughts your way. :biggrin2:
  10. Just a thought but is it too early for pre-natal Vitamins? My friend recently started taking some (at 3months) and it's helped her a lot since she has MANY health issues (including severe RA) that she can't medicate while pregnant. With the additional pain she's been having her energy level was zapped. The vitamins actually got her to the point where she could make it to work (she's on light duty due to being a high-risk pregnancy).
  11. You and I are starting with the same goal. I suffer from depression issues (weight related - we think) and my doc said a big NO to gastric bypass. I have an appointment with my surgeon on June 25th, then my paperwork gets submitted for approval...I can't wait!
  12. Grats on the pregnancy!!!
  13. I originally picked a surgeon that was close to home, he really pushed for me to have a RNY (because that's what he prefers to do). I didn't want to put myself at that kind of risk (I'm a total whimp and I've never had surgery) so, I found a doctor that ONLY did Lap Band. He's a wonderful surgeon with a lot of banding experience, he's from Norway....he's just adorable! I can't wait to get approved for my surgery!!! My PCP said a big NO to RNY she thinks it's too risky, she also feels that with the upcoming research in weight loss having something that is not able to be easily reversed is silly. I totally agree. I'm glad it's all working out for you GG
  14. I've been to two seminars (while I was choosing docs) the doctor attended both of them. Not sure I would like a seminar that didn't include a doctor.
  15. Wow, I accidentally read this thread...(well most of it), I want my 10mins back.
  16. Just remember Karma is a bitch...she'll get her's one day. I had a friend that went through almost the exact same thing, her ex ended up cheating on the new wife too. She actually turned to my friend trying to get sympathy (they used to be best friends), needless to say, my friend told her to F-off, lol.
  17. My self-esteem issues come mostly from being overweight. I've struggled with my weight for most of my adult life. A few years ago when I lost down to 190lbs (the lowest I've been since my early 20's) my whole attitude changed. In all honesty, while fixing the appearance issues will be great, the Lap Band is more a choice for health reasons then looks. As I've aged my body has become very tired of carrying all this weight around, I've developed High BP, sleep Apnea and depression...all weight related. I can't exercise much because of my size and I'm pretty lazy most of the time because it hurts to do too much...not good for a 34 year old woman. While I'm still able to be happy (even at my current size) I can't be completely comfortable, and I suffer from silly insecurities that put pressure on my relationships with other people. I'm not comfortable in my "fat suit" and it shows.
  18. 1lb is 1lb...better then the other way Oh, and in the spirit of this thread.. I like cheese.
  19. The fact that 80% of your posts make you sound like a crazy person is not helping us believe you. Nobody called you a liar we just wanted more information. Until you started insulting people I was pretty interested in hearing about your problems/issues. There are a lot of smart folks on these boards that can give great advice, but they need the whole story first. If you want to leave the board simply log out...it's still showing you online. It's simple enough to just leave if you're not comfortable here.
  20. Stay at home wife (for now, about to go stir crazy!!)....but, I care for a disabled parent.
  21. I would like more information as to why it's not working for you.
  22. Like everyone else said, our bodies are different. I can say that "most" people needing to lose a large amount of weight (like me) lose quicker, then begin to slow as they reach goal weight. I certainly hope this is the case for both of us! :rolleyes2: (except forget the slow part, lol)
  23. I have used "Source of Life" liquid Vitamins for years (for some reason, vitamins in pill form upset my tummy). I love them, they are all natural AND include spirulina which is an awesome supplement for overall health. (I'd love to find Spirulina in a liquid form to take straight, but I've been lazy and haven't located any). Anyway, the "Source of Life" line is pretty good stuff. I get it at my local health food store.
