Pill-Popping Lap Banders?
Same here, no problem taking any pills. My surgeon said to try & keep pills smaller then an M&M but I've taken pills larger then that with no problem

Urine sample cup
If you are having trouble imagining what 4oz looks like (at a restaurant and can't measure, too lazy to measure etc) just picture a common urine sample cup! they are almost exactly 4oz (within a few ml) It was a trick that my surgeon showed me--sticks in my head for sure Bet I got your attention with the thread title

When did you go home after surgery?
My insurance required an overnight stay, I was very ready to go home the same day & would've felt much much better at home.
-
list of food you can't eat post-op??
Camarones al Mojo de Ajois (shrimp with garlic) one of my favorite meals and I just eat very little rice and all of the shrimp. I sure hope I can eat this after another restriction! Yeah, I guess soda and junk food are the only two things I've stayed away from completly. Just don't think about them anymore.

list of food you can't eat post-op??
I have had one fill and don't have much restriction. I've tried quite a lot of foods and nothings disagreed with me yet. I'm glad I can eat cheese sticks--I usually have a piece of string cheese for my midmorning snack. I haven't tried hamburger or ground beef at all yet, we'll see how that goes.

Hospitals -v- Surgery Centers
Mine was also in a hospital and my insurance required an overnight stay (WTF?) The only other health issue I have is high blood pressure and I would've been more then happy to go home about 7 hours after surgery. If they could've changed it to that with maybe a follow up 3 or so days after surgery that would've been great. I was at my wits end with no rest at all for the entire time I was in there, in a room with two men not a minutes peace. I slept for 9 hours as soon as I got home.

Has anyone had a fill yet?
Second fill coming up Monday or Tuesday---I think I have 5cc's in there now, I'm hoping for at least 2 more.

Regular water vs. crystal light
I bought a really cool water from Kroger (I'm sure it's available at other stores) called Ty Nant--it's Welsh. Good water, but the bottle is very cool looking. I keep refilling it. Makes me look all cool and rich and what not!

Regular water vs. crystal light
Sugar Free Drink Mixes Ocean Spray has some s/f drink mixes and they are really really good! they do have aspartame. I've had to give up soda, beer-alcohol period. I think I'll have a few.

first fill, little restriction
I had 5cc's put in on the 9th--about 4 weeks post op, also not really any restriction. I've got an appointment for March 9th and I'm hoping for something. I think it's pretty common Emily--we all just need to hang in there--sucks, but I guess it'll come with time

Anyone notice Post Banders are a bit snobbish?
If we can substitute Funyuns for Cheetos, I'm on board!

Fill under Xray
I also had my fill done with the help of a floroscope--She had me drink the barium liquid (nasty) and mine was done standing up, she put the needle in and put 5cc's in the band, had me drink more and I was done. I could watch as I was drinking and watched to see how much restriction I had.

Okay...so, i have a question about pills...
personally, I take all three at once. But thats' me! You see it everywhere on this board--Everyone Is Different! Some people have problems with tiny pills, I can take anything (I've only had one fill-so maybe that will change) I had to skip my blood pressure pills for a few days right before surgery--check with your surgeon
-
Okay...so, i have a question about pills...
All the pills I take are about the size of bc pills, maybe a tad bigger--I've had no problem taking any pills at all. My surgeon said nothing bigger then an M&M. Check with yours at the pre-op testing

I'd like to have a long talk with your husband. It won't be pretty.

Do you get sick of other people.......
Until I started reading this board, I had no idea how many people "PB" and get food stuck. They could be thinking of that. Part of the weight loss process is also feeling better about yourself. I don't care if it's your mother or your co-worker, tell them you can watch your own diet thank you very much.

Liquid Lortab (or however you spell it)
I had Vicodin--didn't have any problem with pills. Also, what he said ^ you're not exactly drug seeking, you just had surgery! If it's keeping you from being comfortable, call them! So many people (not on this board, I mean in general) think that pain just comes with the price of being alive & just put up with it. See if they can help you with something else. For those that have had a fill---could you take pills but after being filled once or twice, you can't anymore?? One fill and still no problems with pills. I hope that doesn't change.

What was your recovery time?
what babbs said--I also have a desk job. had the surgery on a Wednesday and didn't go back until the following Monday. I didn't need all those days off but I was glad I took them. I honestly thought I'd go back the next Monday (5 days after surgery) glad I didn't

Anyone NOT hungry??
I got a 5cc fill last Tuesday and I really can't tell any difference. I'm not hungry like I was before the surgery but I still open the fridge in between meals. Luckily the only things I have to snack on are s/f Popsicles and string cheese! They said I could have another fill in approx 4 weeks, I'm making the appointment tomorrow.

No, http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/dr-consult-87843/--this is the person I was referring to. His response to her was something I may have said. She needs a drink.
