  1. I just hit a 50 lb loss a few days ago and NO ONE has said a word about it! My mom notices and congratulates me, but not one of my friends has said a word!! 50 effing pounds and NOTHING?? I feel so selfish and vain for needing the support and encouragement, but really! (my mom says it's because your friends see you so often, they don't see the gradual change) You're doing great!!! don't let this small stuff get you down; enjoy those NSVs!!!:tongue_smilie:
  2. It is really crazy, because it DID just disappear sometime in the past few days!! I can definitely still feel the port, but it is not sticking out and saying hello anymore! :w00t: Thanks for all of the replies and well wishes... Kristil

  8. I cannot believe how fast this process has been!! I actually had to look at the calendar to see if it had really been THREE weeks??!! I am at a 'plateau', but start solids tomorrow and am hoping for continued success...How are my other late January 09's doing?? Did your weight start dropping again after beginning solids?? Check in and let us know how things are going and how you are dealing with this physical and emotional journey!! :tt2: Kristil
  9. I have three children (3.5, 3, and 1.5) and I was waaay worried about this, as well. I will tell you what happened with me (b/c it does vary): I had surgery on a Thursday...my mom came on Wednesday and was in charge of me and my hospital needs. My husband was in charge of the kids on Thursday and Friday. I came home on Friday and didn't lift/hold the littlest child until Saturday afternoon. I didn't lift her, but would hold her while standing for a short time. (My doctor ok'd lifting or holding very minimally for her; she is approx 21 lbs) I went of the Percocet (:tt2:) on Saturday night so I would be able to drive on Monday. On Monday, I was able to take the two oldest to preschool. For my littlest, I planned activities with friends so that someone could help with getting her in the van. I did that until about a week out and then I was generally doing everything for all of the kids. (I did enlist help when possible, but mostly did it myself) My youngest does walk, is potty trained and is pretty independent, so I only had to pick her up to get on the potty or into the crib. I am now officially three weeks out and feel great! I guess it is up to your doctor and your comfort level...Good luck!!
  10. It's not red or hot or anything strange, just rather unsightly! :mad2: It is completely closed and healing nicely, according to the doctor, but it just seems HUGE!! Thanks!
  11. Yeah, I am totally plateau-ing...eating all the same things, exercising and following the rules, but the scale is stuck...I begin solids on Friday and am hoping that things get moving when I am not intaking so much sodium.(that's what the doc says anyway!) I lost 20 lbs post op and then nothing!! I could be very well gaining, but I put the scale away! Kawasaki--my DH lived in Broken Arrow...went to Jenks HS. (He is 10 yrs older than you, so I am sure you don't know him!)
  12. does anyone else's port area look like this?? I am almost three weeks out and when I lay down, this is what I get! It's creeping my kids out! When I went to the doctor last week, she said it was still swollen, but geez!!! I am sure you all wanted to see my belly at dinnertime, huh?
  13. can someone change my goal to 250 (total of 14 lbs)? It is really bugging me that it's 252, and not 250. (anal much??) Thanks!
