Tired...Stressed...so i eat!
This is not good, today I completely blew it. I'm only supposed to be on MUSHIES and went as far as having chips today and a fish sandwinch from McDonalds...and some onion rings, I have WAY over eaten. It has been FOREVER since I felt out of control and then today I said to myself "you haven't lost weight since 3 days after your surgery so dieting isn't helping eat whatever you want". Now I feel terrible. My mom is finally out of the hospital *which is good news* but that's the only good news I seem to have. What are the chances of my band slipping because I did not follow post diet orders? Would I feel anything? Now i'm worried, upset at myself and in a generally lousy (and that's the nice word) mood and have already tried eating to make myself feel better and it has since had the opposite effect.

Excersize...what can i do?
I'm 3 weeks post op and feeling back to 100% (cant tell that i have had surgery in fact). I am wanting to go to the gym and work out but I don't know how far I can push myself. Can I get my heart rate up and everything? Treadmill, elipticals ect?

Resolving to be a better bandster...
Anwyn, your post has inspired me. Since realizing that I was not losing weight I changed my mindset for the worst. I started thinking that since I wasn't losing anyway I could eat however I wanted (even went to mushies when I should still be on liquid) because nothing was happening anyway. That is a bad way to start and a bad attitude. I'm signing up on your thread that I am going to do 1 3 5 every day. Get back to the excersizing when the doc says it's okay and go from there. You don't need luck you've got all you need right there inside of you! Work it!

Lap Band Ad

How much could you eat right after you were banded?
See that's the thing, i feel PERFECTLY fine. I'm vaguely aware of my port at times but other than that and the surgical tape I would not have known I had surgery. Hense the eating concerns and what not.

How much could you eat right after you were banded?
Mrshudson you sound JUST like me. Mine was the 18th. I too lost the first week and NOTHING else. During the first week I could feel the band, feel a bit restricted (probably swollen stoma or something) but now it's like...NOTHING at all. No restriction, no problems eating, and no weight loss. Guess i'm kind of down about it today, wondering if something is wrong, wondering if i'll fail at this too...BLEH! Happy thoughts happy thoughts

How much could you eat right after you were banded?
I am less than two weeks out and it's almost as if my band isn't really in there. I know it is but my appetite has returned in full force and I get no feeling from the band at all whether I eat 1/2 cup of thick soup or 2 cups of thick soup (which i came close to at dinner tonight). Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Do I have anything to be worried about?

I am GAINING weight
Yesterday was a protein shake, less than half a cup of chicken chili soup broth from Jason's Deli and then I had baked potato soup from Saltgrass for dinner. That has been typical eating on my part throughout this phase.

I am GAINING weight
This is so frustrating. I am 9 days post op taking my protein drinks, getting my water and doing ONLY liquids (and no more than 2 meals a day = protein for breakfast) and i'm GAINING weight. Why? I realize that the body goes through a starvation mode where it doesnt' want to metabolize as fast and all that but it has been 9 days and i've gone from maintaining since surgery to gaining 2 pounds. Anyone have an answer? A solution?

My First Nsv!
I am so excited! I went out to dinner with a large group of people and was COMPLETELY satisfied with a few bites of soup. It was VERY good and I enjoyed myself alot. Normally I would have been having the cheese sticks, and steak and a baked potato, and probably ordered desert because everyone else was having desert! My scales haven't moved for a week (and i'm on full liquid) but it still felt really great. Almost as if I know that even though I don't appear to be dropping weight I know it will come in time. The best part about it was that I did not feel as if I was missing out on anything! I was happy with what I had, before I feared that I would be looking at the steak thinking "why did I do this?"

Where is my port
Hmm...I don't know then. I guess I will find out on Thursday.

I know it's normal...I know it's water and my body thinking it's in starvation mode
Unfortuantly it hasn't started yet... and protien is something I need to work on *sigh*

I know it's normal...I know it's water and my body thinking it's in starvation mode
BUT i've been on liquids for a week, can feel myself being hungry, am hungry and haven't dropped a pound in a week! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
-
When will I be hungry
Be thankful, I have been hungry (am 7 days post op) and have not dropped ANYTHING. I know that it's my body thinking i'm starving myself and water and all that mess but it's still VERY depressing.

Did your stomach feel tight right after being banded
Karen, good to know! I was a bit panicked this morning thinking "I couldn't go into work like this every morning". It's much better as the day progressed, but hopefully I won't wake up like that EVERY morning.

Hedwig (love the name btw) that sucks. But don't lose hope! It's November and you have until January. Keep your spirits up and the innovations coming.

I am walking the floors almost in tears.
Yeah I self-paid and was banded on the 18th and am worried too...but Carolyn had some good words of wisdom last night when I was freaking out. I'll look for them and edit in a minute. I guess I have to think "whatever will be will be" (cannot translate into latin with a decent enough spelling to try it.
